When purchasing tv series & movies now available in the UK iTunes?

Do you get the dvd extras? I would probably buy a few things but would be put off doing so if there werent all the extras you get when buying a dvd. I have bought Greys Anatomy and im sure there werent any extras with that.
I do remember reading something somewhere that iTunes might being doing something soon that would also give you the option for a disc to be sent with any movies/tv bought in itunes?

At this time, at any rate, you don't get any of the extras available on the DVDs.
As to your second query, I don't know what you read, but perhaps you were reading about the DVDs that were also providing a code via which you could download the movie from the iTunes Store at no extra charge to put on an iPod. Only a very few disks have been released at all to date, and I don't know if any have been released in the UK. For more information, see:

I've not seen even a breath of a rumor about the reverse, where you buy a movie through the iTunes Store and somehow you can get the disk as well.

What gives...I go on Itunes at my PC and I can rent, buy etc. and the movie info page says it's also available to buy/rent in HD from your Apple TV - No it isn't.
So, I rented a sample movie - didn't care what it was.... it's downloaded to my PC itunes...now I need to transfer it "MOVE" (as apple TV itunes text calls it)over to my Apple TV in itunes....so it's doing that now, and I'm typing this as I wait. (so hold on)
Ok, I'm back...My apple TV didn't show a thing different-until I got out of the apple tv movie section toggled around a bunch of times, checked for downloads - none... came back to movies - and the rented movie was there! yey! but where is everything else, the "top movies", "search", you know all the good stuff the canadians were going to get like the americans. Ah, yes, left the screen again, toggled around - did nothing really - then went back to movies and viola - all the bells and whistles are there.

You cannot.
You cannot use another countrys itunes store.
You must be physically locates inside the borders of a country to use that countrys itunes store and a credit card issued in that country with a valid billing address in that country.
The owners of the distribution rights of movies/music/etc differ by country. These distributors decide who can sell their content in that country.
Buy from another source if your countrys itunes store does not carry somehting that you want.

Right, as you probably know, with iTunes 10.5 you can re-obtain Music, Apps, Books and TV Shows for free if you have lost them.
However, the ability to re-obtain TV shows is not available in the UK (amongst other places). Is it just not available yet, or will it never be available?
Re-obtaining apps was alway a possibility as it assumed it was just an update, I think iBooks were fine to get again and music used to cost moey to get again. When I heard Apple's previous purchases announcement ages ago, I was really eager as I assumed it would mean I could get back the many TV episodes that I bought and downloaded on my iPod, then had to delete for space before syncing (the computer said it wasn't the right computer's library (which was true, I had had to wipe the PC as it had gained several critical viruses)). I bought the episodes about 2 years ago, so was over the moon when I heard I may be able to get them back without paying again, however Apple seem to have dashed my dreams

Personally I did not notice the fact that I could not redownload my purchases again - something which I think will have to be made more clear in the future with the new digital download laws coming in...

Maybe it was made clear when I made my purchases???, but my assumption was that I own the download, and if still available on the apple servers I should be able to redownload it again - maybe I am stupid for assuming this!! DRM at the best of times is hard to transfer/backup content so how is a non-techy supposed to do it?

Contacts are designed to be synced to a supported application on the computer or a cloud service like Gmail, iCloud, or an Exchange server.

How are you trying to transfer it and what are your setting on iTunes. I'm not on a computer that has iTunes at the moment so I'm going from memory and similar issue. If iTunes is set to sync music then I don't think you can select and drag, if set to manual manage music then you can. Also make sure you are dragging to music on the iPhone.

Drag it further away and it should release. It used to be that you just had to drag it off a little bit for it to delete. The new behaviour got introduced at some point in Mountain Lion.
