When recording my voice and other peoples sometimes are high pitch and sometimes low pi

It will also be somewhat choppy. I tried reinstalling drivers.
I can listen to music without any problem but voice communication seems messed up.

The new expensive earphones wont work. I have tested this with Bowers & Wilkins P5. They are the best and one of the most expensive headphones you can get in the market.
The sound was awesome on my iPhone 4 and iPad 2. However starting with iPhone 4S Apple has started to use low power Cirrus Logic Sound Chip. The chip compromises on the loudness without giving up the quality of the music. However I am used to listening at full volumes on my iPhone 4 and iPad 2. The music on the new iPad dusnt really make me happy

• How do I record my voice and other sounds using the microphone in my HP TouchSmart 15?

I just recently got an HP TouchSmart 15 notebook PC and know very little about how to use it. I'd like to use the onboard microphone to record my voice and other sounds, ending up with sound files that I can save and use in creating multi-media presentations. Thanks for helping me learn how to do that!

Hi,
You can use Windows "Sound Recorder'
Start Sound Recocrder
Speak, Sing or may noises
And stop when finish
Save file
To start Sound Recorder
Windows 7: Click Start > All Programs > Accessories > Sound Recorder
Windows 8 & 8.1: Hold down Win key then press Q > Type Sound R in Search box

• Audio recording, chipmunk voice and stuttering?!

Hi all, I use the Elgato Game Capture HD with my MacBook Pro to record gaming videos. I use a standard USB headset with a mic to record live commentary over the top, this setup has always worked fine for me, until yesterday.
After recording my video, when I started editing it, I realised that in recording, the audio had caused my voice to go extremely high pitched, stutter and therefore out of sync with the video and then after about 5 minutes it just completely cut off.
I thought at first this was a problem with the mic, so I used my more professional mic which is a Zoom Handy Recorder H2 and plugged it in via USB. Same problem. So then I thought, it must be the Elgato recording software. Tried using Audacity to record some audio, it was fine once and then same problems. Which makes me think it's something to do with my MacBook?!
If anyone's had a similar problem or would even know how I would start to tackle this issue, i'd be incredibly grateful!
Thanks in advance!

I have a 5c, and here is how I was able to trim a test recording:
1. Open the recording file in Voice Memos.
2. Tap "Edit" at the bottom. It's between the arrow-up symbol and trash can.
3. On the right side, near the bottom-right corner you'll see a blue box with a round blue dot at the top-left corner of it, and another one at the bottom-right. This is the Trim button. Tap it.
4. You should now see the recording with the "wavelengths", a vertical blue line (with a blue dot at top and bottom), and on each side a red line (also with red dot at top/bottom).
5. Touch the left red line and you'll notice you can touch/drag it to the beginning point of your desired portion of the recording.
6. Touch the right red line and touch/drag it for the recording's end point.
7. Hit the Play button to play just the trimmed portion, making sure it's what you want.
8. Once it's what you want, touch "Trim". Up pops "Trim Original" or "Save as New Recording".
On emailing it, go to the trimmed copy and click the arrow-up symbol, which will allow you to either message or email it.
EDIT: I found you can name your recording file to what you want by tapping the default name of it. A cursor will appear where then you can delete and retype a custom file name. Great for emailing so you recipients will know what it is by looking at it.

• When recording, strange noises and audio cut offs

When i open garageband and record a basic track (no other programs running), randomly, a scratchy noise that kinda sounds like a distorted, heavy metronome, comes from the left speaker or left headphone.
This noise is not recorded, but comes out very loudly in the monitor.
Also, when recording a basic track, the output audio will completely shut off from the monitor and from everything, but Garageband continues to record and the recording is not affected. This is a huge problem especially if im using a metronome or layering tracks. This does not affect iTunes or anything, JUST GarageBand
please help! should i bring it into a MacGenius?

Hi ladyshade666-
Does it make this noise if you run the Mac with only the mouse, keyboard and monitor attached?
Are you absolutely sure the sound is coming from within the Mac? I have had a couple of FireWire disks that when connected inject all kinds of noise into my amplified speakers. I turn the drives off when I am in the studio.
Reverse polarity is very dangerous and will cause early demise of power supplies. You may also get yourself electrocuted. It may very well be the noise-causing difference in tour scenario.
I think your first call should be to an electrician.
Luck-

• Recording a voice and formatting it for e-mail

my mac book pro is standard with no special programs. how can I record a voice, what format should i save it in to attach it to an e-mail.
thanks

QuickTime Player would be my recommendation, it will save as Audio.mov by default which you can drag and drop into your Mail document. PC users will also be able to listen to this if they have installed the Free version of QuickTime for Windows.

• How can I save my fillable form so that when I share my form with other people they are able to save the fillable version of the form?

I made a fillable form in Adobe Live Cycle - The problem I'm having is that when I share the form with someone they are unable to save the fillable version of the form once information has been put in - I need them to be able to save the fillable form so that when we need to make changes in the future that we don't need to fill out the entire form again.

Firefox 4 saves the previous session automatically, so there is no longer need for the dialog asking if you want to save the current session.
You can use "Firefox > History > Restore Previous Session" to get the previous session.
There is also a "Restore Previous Session" button on the default about:home Home page.
Another possibility is to use:
* [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Menu_differences Firefox (Tools) > Options] > General > Startup: "When Firefox Starts": "Show my windows and tabs from last time"

• ISight conflict when installing Google Voice and Video driver

After installing Google Voice and Video driver, the iSight stops working on Flash based applications or websites.
Two camera drivers are installed: Google camera 0 and Google camera 1.
Even if I go to Settings and choose the correct driver (iSight Integrated), it does't works.
The only way I found to solve this issue is removing those Google's drivers (Library/Application Support/Google/GoogleVoiceAndVideoUnistaller).
However, this is not a solution since I can't use GTalk anymore.
Does Flash Player 10.2 fixes this conflict?
Regards,

Sorry for not using the search, I see it's available in AUR... http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=36308
Now trying to install from there!

• I keep getting lags in time when playing word games with other people. Eventually the phone sends my move although sometimes that little sending circle just goes round and round for minutes and nothing happens. Does anyone have a fix?

Is this happening due to heavy phone use period times?

Re-install the game..that works for me anytime I have a problem with the games

• Guitar "twang" when recording with macmini and M-Audio Fast Track Ultra

hey was hoping someone might have similar setup or enough knowledge to help out.
when i record guitar through my interface i get a clip after each guitar note that sounds very flangey (or like and outter-space type "twang" if that helps describe it) i was hoping it would come out a bit cleaner. and yes i have made sure no effects are turned on. its should be straight up clean guitar, and the notes preceding these clips are in-fact nice and clean. its just the milliseconds after each note that are bothering me.
my biggest issue is i don't know if its being caused by my interface or a bad setting within the program. I am using the build in preamp and plugging directly into the unit, so i'm going to get a mic and see how it sounds then.
I did a lot of research on the D/A interfaces out there and i went with the fast track ultra for the price and because the company really hyped these preamps. this is the general description you will find on sites trying to sell the FTU "4 preamps with award-winning M-Audio Octane technology"
if this noise is cause by a problem with these preamp.... im gona be POBB! i would have saved up and waited to buy and apogee product! anyone out these using an ensemble??? would love to hear some feedback about that unit! thanks in advance for any help!

hey thanks for the reply! i have since adjusted a few parameters and had good luck going directly into the ftu's 1/4in jack in the front. the more i use the program the more im understanding (you can see i'm relieving my neebie side!) i have not messed much with the ftu's control program itself, is this helpful when trying to get good levels and such?
how knowledgable are you about microphones? i have a garbage mic from radio shack and when trying to record my acoustic guitar with it i really need to crank up the input on the ftu and be close to the mic to get a signal. this in turn creates that "fuzzy warm" sound that you can hear before the guitar starts playing. it's that analog sound like going through an old tube-amp or something... now while the instrument is playing its not as noticeable obviously and some people even like to add this sort of effect onto digital stuff to give it that warm feeling...
my question is- what if i want just a nice crisp acoustic recording from my mic into garageband? do i go with something that uses phantompower or what? im just so lost because i don't know much about mics (except they can get REAL expensive... saw one for 7k at guitar center by me!) well sorry for ramblings! thanks in advance for help!

• How To Prevent Hum When Recording Spoken Voice

Hi,
I'm recording some audio files with mostly spoken voice but when listening to playback there is hum.
I'm using a USB Logitech headset/mic (pretty new, the one with the volume control on the cable). The level is set to half.
I'm also using Motu Firewire 828 Mark II as part of my studio set-up.
So in Logic Pro Preferences - Audio I set the device to Logitech Headset, then do my voice over recording which sounds fine balance wise in the head set.
When I change the device back to Motu 828 in the preferences and play the recording back over my speaker system, there is hum behind the voice.
Can anybody tell me how to get rid of this hum?
Any advice will be much appreciated.

And if you play it back over the headset, there is no hum? What is the resolution of the Logitech? 16 bits 32 kHz? 16/44,1? 16/48?
Can anybody tell me how to get rid of this hum?
IF it is in the recording already, yes:
It is probably a 50 or 60 Hz hum.
You need to apply strong, narrow eq. Insert a *Channel EQ* and start with finding the base frequency. Pull the filter down and sweep the frequencies between 0 and 200 to find the base hum, then set it up something like this:

• Can you 'pause' when recording a voice-over?

We are wanting to put a voice-over on a Keynote presentation. We would like to be able to 'pause' the recording as we move through the process ... it's at least an hour long presentation (it was originally 3 hours, now being cut down).
Once it's done, we want to export out the whole as a ProRes LT Quicktime movie.
So that's the question, can we pause the audio recording, and have the end result exported Quicktime with a smooth timing (no pauses)?
All ears,
B

You're an ace Gary, thank you most kindly.
This system works beautifully, so beautifully that she went back and rebuilt the first show in HD (I think it was previously some odd format like 720 x 540). And the show looks great now on a standard LCD screen.
She'll love the 'pause'.
All the best,
Ben

• Line in recorde mostly noise and very low audio (please help)

i think i may be giving my client a lot of money back...
about 20 minutes into a video gig i realized that the line in audio i was getting on my camera was not working properly so i pulled the plug and jsut picked up from the camra mic, but i am left with about... 18 minutes of very very poor audio. are there any brave and generouse soundtrack pros who can tell me waht setting to apply to make this "listenable"
you can download a 30 second snipit here: http://www.video-guy.com/forums/ami_out_ofluck.zip
i have soundtrack, but rarely use it, so like i said. if anyone would be kind enough to hold my hand and tell me what buttons to push i would be very much in your debt.
heck, i'll even do some free photoshop, or final cut work for you.
thanks.

First off, yes you're pretty much out of luck. I listened to your sample, and there's probably nothing you could do to make this sound good. With enough filtering, you could make it so the voice is marginally intelligible, but it's never going to sound like a good recording.
Second, while this web forum is good for discussion about Soundtrack Pro's features and how to use them, I've found that Usenet has much more meaningful discussions on audio editing techniques in general. A couple newsgroups I read religiously are rec.arts.movies.production.sound and rec.audio.pro.

• Cant hear or record my voice when on headset mode in calld but can use speaker phone

I just got a BlackBerry Z10. When I make calls or am called people can't hear my voice in normal headset mode but if I put them on speaker they can hear me. I tried seeing if I could record my voice and it's not picking up anything. Why in normal mode isn't it picking up anything? Is there a setting messed up or did I buy a defective phone? Why does the microphone pick up when in speaker phone mode but not normal headset mode?

You should run some tests to see what's happening. If you still have the Help icon on your homescreen, click it then click Testing at the bottom to run the tests. If you no longer have the Help icon, go to BlackBerry World and search for BBVE.
Keep us up to date on your progress.
- If my response has helped you, please click "Options" beside my post and mark it as solved. Clicking the "thumbs up" icon near the bottom of my response would also be appreciated.
