When reinstalling OS X I get sent to the Open Firmwear screen??

I have been having troubles with my G4, one day i turned it on and it just went to a blue screen, so i read a few threads about it and how i might go about fixing it and have tried everything. I am now trying to re-install OS X. when I turn it on, i press opt and choose the OS X install dvd, it then takes me to the firmwear screen. I dont knwo what to do from here? can any one help me please?

    Hello crimsonflare,
    Try this first:
Apple - Support - iPod Troubleshooting Assistant
If that does not work, use this:
    Putting iPod into Disk Mode
and try to restore you ipod.
    Hope this helps.

  • Why do I get sent to the User Login screen to enter my password after sleep?

    Hi,
On OSX Lion, 10.7.4. I recently had to reinstall the OS on a new hard drive in my iMac and now have an issue with it that I never had before.
After prolonged periods of sleep (I haven't determined what the minimum length is before this will happen), when I come to wake the computer it shows me the User Login screen. Under my user icon is an orange checkmark, presumably to show that I am the user logged in. Otherwise it is exactly the same as the User Login screen one gets when the computer boots up. I select my user icon and enter my password and the computer unlocks.
I haven't got this set up anywhere, that I know of. I don't have the 'Security & Privacy - Require password for sleep and screen saver' option checked, never have. If I do turn that on just to check, it's a very different password screen, a little popup window in the centre of the dimmed screen.
How do I turn this feature off?
    Thanks,
    Owen

Sounds like you may have deleted something you shouldn't have. Boot to an OS X DVD or a bootable backup, and using Disk Utility, do a repair disk, and while there repair permissions. Disconnect any peripherals, and reboot. If you get the same startup behavior, do a safe boot, by holding the shift key down when booting. If that works, try a normal boot. If neither step helps, you may need to relaod your operating system.

    Lyall,
I have seen this before, a long time ago (several years), and I cannot
    remember how/if we resolved it.
If this is an impotant issue to you, I suggest that you open a case with
    BEA support.

This is a rather important issue, I have seen another post with a similar problem.
While not being a show-stopper it certainly raises concerns.
The application works ok until the application exits (in both development and
    executable form)
Apparently this did not happen with Tux 7.1
It does with 8, I do not have 7.1 so I have no workaround.

Sounds like something internal was damaged in the fall, probably the disk drive. Take to Apple and ask them to fix it.

  • Supression of progam attribute title getting printed in the POP up screen

    Hi,
I am calling a screen (module dialog box type) in the module pool progam and than on that screen i am generating a list out displaying messages.
When the screen is getting called the main program attribute tittle is gettting displayed before printing the messages.
Please provide your suggestions regarding how to supress that attribute title getting displayed on the pop up screen.
The code in the PBO of the pop up screen is
    PROCESS BEFORE OUTPUT.
    MODULE status_9120.
    MODULE WRITE_LIST_9120.
    PROCESS AFTER INPUT.
    MODULE USER_COMMAND_9120.
    setting the PF status
    MODULE status_9120 OUTPUT.
      SET PF-STATUS 'Z9120'.
      SET TITLEBAR 'TITLE_9110'.
    ENDMODULE.                 " STATUS_9120  OUTPUT
    *&      Module  WRITE_LIST_9120  OUTPUT
To display the error messages on the pop up screen
    MODULE WRITE_LIST_9120 output.
      SUPPRESS DIALOG.
LEAVE TO LIST-PROCESSING." AND RETURN TO SCREEN 0.
       l_dynnr = SY-DYNNR.
       FORMAT COLOR COL_TOTAL INTENSIFIED OFF.
       LOOP AT t_result.
       WRITE:/ t_result-message.
       ENDLOOP.
    ENDMODULE.                 " WRITE_LIST_9120  OUTPUT
    MODULE USER_COMMAND_9120.
As mentioned above before displaying the contents of the table t_result the code is displaying the progam attribute title.
Also provide suggestion whether this can be done by any other method.
    Thanks,
    Mohit

    Hi
Once you have set a title, it remains active within the transaction until the next SET TITLEBAR statement.
Use SET TITLEBAR. (without any title. This will reset the title)

My iPhone 3Gs randomly shutting off at any given moment. I could be in the middle of a text, a call, or doing some games and it'll just shut off.
Now here's the unique part. When I go to turn it back on, the apple loading screen pops up but it takes somewhere from 3-5 minutes for it to boot up. Then the lock screen with the time and whatnot shows up. From this point on, my iPhone has a chance to shut itself back down and I have to repeat the process over and over again. Most of the time the lock screen flashes and then goes straight to black (shut down) but sometimes I can make it a few menus before it shuts itself down.
The only way to keep the iPhone on is to plug it into a charger of any sort. I'm fairly certain it isn't a battery charge issue because this happens at any % of power and sometimes my iPhone can use up all of its charge and not have this happen while other times I can be at 90-100% and it could randomly shut itself down. What can I do in this situation if some has some solution to this problem please let me know on [email protected] Thanks!

Not sure if this Term is Relevant towards an iPhone but, my iPhone won't Post unless if it's plugged into a Charger.

How can I get out of the flashing Apple screen on Iphone 3 ?

Turn it off.  While pressing and holding the Home button, connect it to your computer with iTunes open.  Hopefully you will be able to restore it after that.  If not, it requires service.
