When responding to an email it hangs with Attaching message

I really like Thunderbird, except at various times when I respond to a message there will be a popup that says Attaching. I've waited as long as 20 minutes and it just hangs there. The email I'm responding to can be long or short, that doesn't seem to make a difference. It can be one email or a number in email I'm responding to. There is never an attachment on these emails. I have not found a way to get around this problem. To respond, I have to send a separate email which, of course, loses the chain of correspondence that is needed. Has anyone had this problem and found a way around it? Thanks for your help.

I use Avast for my anti-virus and have for years. It is set to NOT scan outgoing emails. I only have this problem with outgoing emails. The problem does not occur with every outgoing email. It only happens 5 or 6 times per week but it is still very aggravating.

• I have 3 email addresses. Two of them are thru my internet provider. When I send thru that provider, the email is sent correctly, my email address shows as it should.
• When I send from my 3rd email address, which is provided thru my web site servicer, which is Go Daddy, my email address doesn't show! I'll be calling Go Daddy!
I just yesterday found out that their was a problem with my email. I couldn't figure out why this one guy told me my email address wasn't showing. I spoke with another person this morning in her office, who told me the same thing - but was able to show me the email I sent her.
I came home, my email all looked correct. Thats when I went to the Communities.

Would you post a screen shot of a message so people can see what you are seeing? Make sure you cover any personal information using Preview. Post the screen shot in a Reply using the camera icon. Copy and paste doesn't work.

If it is a POP account, there could be an issue with the outgoing server setting. It will not hurt to check this and make sure. Make sure that your username and password are in there.
Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Your email account>Account>Outgoing mail server - tap the server name next to SMTP and check in the primary server and make sure your username and password are entered and correct - even if it says that the password is optional.

Solution to hanging mail when responding to certain emails

I've had this annoying problem for a couple of months where I would get the spinning wheel of death when I would try and respond to certain emails. I've read multiple posts and suggestions and tried almost all of them to no avail. I finally read a tech note describing problems that some programs may have when a particular font is corrupted. So, this is what I did and it solved the problem:
1. I opened the font book application (in your applications folder) and examined each and every font for signs of corruption. They all looked perfect. But I did notice that some font styles (bold, italics, etc...) were duplicated. The ones that have duplications appear with a small dot next to them.
2. I opened each font with a dot next to it (click on the little arrow on the left of the font) and disabled one of each duplicated font style (typically the one that did not have a dot next to it).
3. restarted mail (after having to force quit it) and I was able to reply to the problem emails.
Hope this is useful to some other's out there who've been experiencing the same problem.

Cltrl/Alt/Delete for Task Manager, look under processes tab for firefox.exe, highlight and hit delete key. Then search for other instances of firefox.exe and delete them too. Close Task Manager and click on your Firefox icon and it should come up. This happens to my wife when she is frustrated and just closes Firefox outright and then immediately tries to reopen it. The Task Manager has not had time to close out firefox.exe

I am facing a strange problem. I would appreciate if someone can help me.
Our application sends emails periodically (every 30 minutes). Initially emails send out correct but then the emails stop with error message "Message included an invalid address" after some time.
FYI, the devices are using MDS/BES connection. Contect protection is enable. etc.
Below is the code used to send emails:

I enabled the contect protection on my test device and then after few emails the emails show red cross when device was locked with the same error.
So I believe the email does not go out when the content protection is enable and deice is locked.
Any idea to fix our email process?

Is there a way to establish when a distribution group email address last received a message?

We currently use Exchange 2007 but are planning to migrate to 2013 soon. As part of the prep for migration I want to tidy things up, and part of this tidy up is to remove unused distribution groups.
The user community is one that refuses to let go of anything (our retention policy is keep everything, forever), so if I ask them if they still need these groups the answer will be yes for all.
So, is there any way I can pull a report of the last time the email addresses associated with these groups were used?

Go into Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>your account>Outgoing mail Server>SMTP>Primary Server then turn Server ON and fill in both User Name & Password>under Outgoing Mail Server.

PS6 hangs with a message waiting for Bridge

Hello Masters,
I have a requirement where system needs to send the email with attachment. In my case I already have a file which needs to be send as attachment and stored in a directory (on database server).
Directory is created using below commands;
CREATE OR REPLACE DIRECTORY TEST_DIR AS 'c:\myfiles';
GRANT READ, WRITE ON DIRECTORY TEST_DIR TO USER_SCHEMA;
I just want to send mail with that file as attachment, basically there should be something where I should specify the path and it gets attached to the email.
Hope I have made clear. Kindly help me out for same.
