When's the Zen V Plus 8GB out in the

My mp3 player (zen micro) is broken. Properly properly broken, and I'd like to replace it. The player I've got my eye on is the Zen V plus, but 4gb isn't really enough. I'm in the UK, and I'd be very interested to hear when the 8gb version is due out here. Any ideas? Thanks. -Emma

96 kbps? If you want good sound and are using high quality headphones I would suggest using 256 kb

I use 256 kbps mp3 on my mp3 player. I tried 320 kbps and could not hear a difference between it and 256 kbps on my mp3 player. I could hear the difference between 92 kbps and 256 kb

I don't use WMA since WMA uses more battery power and gives you less run time per charge. It isn't a contest to see how many songs can be crammed into the player, but it is instead about enjoying the music. What good is having hundreds of hours of music crammed into a player if the battery life is 5 hours or less?

  • ***Best Bit Rate To Use For The Zen V Plus 8GB

I've got the zen v plus (8gb) and I was just wondering what is the best bit rate to use, I've currently got ,32 tracks at "64kbps wma" on my zen micro(6gb) and I'm getting a bit tempted to enhance the quality of the tracks (to maybe 96kbps wma), but I don't want the space on my 8gb v plus to be consumed quickly.
Thanx if anyone could give me any ideas

  • Zen V Plus 8GB Australian Release

Is the Creative Zen V Plus 8GB going to be released in Australia? If so, what date is due to arri've?Thanks in advance.

    FreshPrince,
The player is normally available on our European online store (it's out of stock at the moment though). When it's in stock again you can order it there.
If you're referring to local stores though, it would probably be best to check with them directly to see when they are expecting stock.

  • Creative ZEN V PLUS 8GB

Japan already seem to have the Creative ZEN V PLUS 8GB?when will the UK get this item? and at what cost ?

    Hello Skhell,
    Welcome to Creative forums!
Cleaning up shouldn't hurt your player. This will just scan your player and remove corrupt/invalid links that might cause some problems on the device. Boot the player from the recovery mode and do a Clean Up->Reboot. You can find the instructions here. See if that makes a difference.

  • Zen V Plus 8GB free

    Hi all,
Bought myself this player this week, installed the software (organizer and explorer), went to the creative site to update player with latest firmware and auto updated the software to the latest versions.
Everything went okay. Then I tried to fill the player with music, all mp3 from an external hard dri've. I was able to upload 5 tracks, leaving me approx. 6GB of space. Then everytime I tried to add another song, the player freezes and the program I used didn't respond any longer. I tried via organizer, explorer, WMP, drag and drop in windows explorer. All without success. Even formatting the player didn't work. Now it freezes after just track. So I am continuously pressing the reset button because the player stays in "docked" mode, i.e. not responding.
    Does anyone has a solution?
    Thank you!
    Tom

This happened to me on my zen v plus 4GB.
I fixed it by resetting and then starting in recovery mode and choosing the "clean up" option. To do this, reset your zen through the pinhole. Then hold down the play button while turning the player on. When you see the creative logo on the screen, release the play button.
A recovery mode menu should then appear. Choose "clean up". That's what worked for me. "Clean up" doesn't delete anything from your player, but the format option will. Also, definitely don't choose "reload firmware" unless you have a copy of the firmware on your computer!

  • Zen V Plus 8GB: Can I set MORE than 4GB as storage for dat

When I bought the device, I thought I could choose to empty the entire player and fill it totally with DATA. to (for example) store a complete DVD (as data ofcourse, I understand the player won't be able to display it)

macsales.com aka OWC says MacBook Unibody 2008-2012 (MacBook5,1) can go to 8GBs.

  • 8Gb version of Zen V Plus in swed

Hi, I was wondering when and if Zen V Plus will release with 8Gb in sweden

Tell me about it. I wanted the 8Gb but you can't even buy it off creative's site in the usa! you have to go to Korea! the standard postage works out as 225GBP, so I don't see the benefit when I can buy the same player off ebay brand new for 6GBP!!!!! what marketing genius decided that europeans didn't deserve a decent sized player?

  • Zen V plus hiss

I just bought a Zen V plus 8GB model after my microphoto's hard disk died. I use Sennheiser in-ear plugs with it, and there is a very noticeable hissing noise when playing any music that does not approach full volume. I can't hear the hiss with the headphones supplied with the player, but I'd guess that's more a sign of how limited the range of those things is - the hissing with the Sennheisers stops as soon as I press the pause button. Does anyone else have this? Is my player simply a dud? Is there anything that can be done about it's I don't expect this kind of sound "quality" from a player in this price range.

Well, it seems it's not my superior ears, but rather a faulty brain that is at fault here, as far as my personal attributes are concerned. Hardware-wise, I think it is a problem with the sennheisers after all - I hear the same hiss when I plug them in to my amp. They seem to be very sensiti've to noise, I'm not sure if they were like this when I bought them or if this is a new development - I've mainly used them with my now-defunct zen micro photo, which definitely did have a hissing when the backlight was on. That previous experience was also why I was so quick to lay the blame on the player, when I should have done more checking.
Oh well, problem solved, except not really... Now my good earbuds are not so good after all. I wonder if I could do something to filter the noise out...

  • ZEN V PLUS - 4 gig - Only Holds 250 songs - Locks

I am able to transfer photos, songs, and videos. I can listen or view them with no
problem. The problem is the # of songs that I could get on the player is not right!
I have the Zen V Plus, 4 gig. I try to transfer songs to the player but it the
transfer progress always stops when there are about 250 songs transfered to the
player. The 250 songs are about 800 mb in size so that should bot be an issue since
    the player is 4 gigs.
I have tried to drag and drop, add media, and use the "Fill Up Player" with the same
    results.
Around the 250th song, the progress bar % stops moving. I press cancel and nothing
happens. I let the computer take it's time and 40 minutes went by... the bar is still
there with no new %. The problem is the player is still docked.
Since the player is docked and is still in "Transfer Mode" I have to unplug it, go
into recovery mode and "Clean Up".
When the player reboots the Re-Building Library is show with a progress bar. This
stays up and looks like the player is frozen.
I now have to reformat. All of my stuff is gone from the player.
I try to add songs and again... around 250 the progress bar sto
    ps.
I used the Zen Media Explorer and Windows Media player to transfer the songs. All
    stop around 250!
I have the new firmware installed.
    The PC I have is:
    Windows XP Media Edition
    P-4
    2 gigs of ram.
Again, I am able to upload songs, photos, and video and it plays no problem! The
problem here is I can't upload more than 250 songs. The total number of songs I want
to transfer is about 900 and is .2 gigs. The player is 4 gigs and there is a lot of
    space when I transfer.
    Thanks

Was just curious, was trying to establish whether it is a possibly DRM bug (on licensed) music or some other kind of bug with the unit. I have moved 450 songs total to my daughters Zen V Plus with out a problem, but its all ripped music from her music collection. So was thinking it might be a DRM issue of some kind. (Microsoft has released a ton of patches for DRM issues related to the transfer of music, am in the process of trying to document them all and post it later tommorrow.)?On my daughters Zen V plus I have all here music organized into folders:Artist->album->songI organized them that way on the PC before I copied them over. (MP3 Files, not WMA's)?I don't have a large enough collection of purchased music off the web to do any testing to see if it breaks when trying to transfer DRM protected music.
Could be something like a folder limit for number of files in one folder? Not sure, just trying to throw out ideas to help track down the problem, and help people get it solved.

  • Computer doesn't not find my new Zen V Plus

Well, I got my new Zen V Plus 8gb yesterday, installed ZEN V Series Media Explorer and Creative MediaSource 5 Organizer (aswell as the drivers for the Zen etc.)
I've charged the player for more than 6 hours, but my computer can't find it, it just doesn't show up, it says "please connect your creative zen to your computer" or somethign similar when I try to use Creative MediaSource 5 Organizer, and ZEN V Series Media Explorer just don't locate it.
I can start the player and browse around in it etc. so it works, my computer just can't locate it, it can recharge it though.
(I'm not having any of these problems with an iPod I have, aswell as a camera etc. so it's not the USB-dri've)
Anyone know what the problem might be?
    My specs:
    Windows XP SP2
    Intel Dualcore 2.4ghz
    3gb RAM
Edit: I've found it in the device manager, but it seems that it thinks it hasn't got any drivers, even though I installed them :S
I've also gone through this: http://ask.americas.creative.com/SRV...e.com,case=9287 but to no avail.

  • Vista problem (Zen V Plus 8

Just bought a brand new Zen V Plus 8gb... stick the CD in my pc... install software... restart computer... plug in Zen.
Windows Vista is having none of it. Cannot locate drivers, cannot install hardware, cannot find solution both off and online and simply cannot find the player. Windows media player cannot locate it, nor can the Creative software or Windows explorer
Device manager lists the device but cannot find any drivers for it.
Downloaded and installed all the software listed under support for Vista and my model.
Surely there is something not right.
Booted up my old pc with XP on it... installed CD, plugged in Zen and it worked fine. Creative cant be that in the past... is the Zen V Plus out of date already? If so let me know so I can get my money back asap!
If someone has managed to fix this problem then please let me know... frankly Creative's knowledge base message of duel boot both XP and Vista is rubbish in my opinion.

Hey. I was having the exact same issue with USB flash dri'ves. Windows Vista was just not taking any!I read somewhere a suggestion from someone on a forum suggesting to uninstall all USB controller devices in Device Manager and then "scan for hardware changes" to make them reinstall. Of course after trying this Windows Vista was not taking ANY sort of drivers for them again and I lost all USB functionality, requiring a good format, lol.. Straight after getting back to the desktop from Windows Vista's installation, I plugged in my USB flash dri've and it was recognized! It would seem that perhaps driver conflicts with other devices I installed (namely USB devices) was causing Windows Vista to not accept any more USB devices. This time after formating I was therefore very paranoid with what drivers I was using for USB devices like my webcam and Bluetooth dongle. I managed to get proper Windows Vista Bluetooth drivers this time round and managed to install the Bluetooth dongle fine and my USB flash dri've was still being recognized after. Moral of the story...be very careful with what drivers you use for your USB devices. Namely if they're fully Windows Vista compatible, stamped as such by the manufacturer of the drivers and the device in question. Perhaps this is a Windows Vista bug because why should Windows Vista incompatible drivers for my webcam say, eliminate my ability to use further USB devices that have nothing to do with my webcam?Tell you what I didn't try...unplugging all USB devices prior to plugging in my USB flash dri've. Have you tried that for your MP3 player?
I don't know if any of the above will help terribly, but at least I hope it gives you ideas. Just as a note, I plugged in my Zen V Plus (2GB) straight after booting up (without installing any software or drivers first) and it detected it properly, allowing me to transfer files. Later I installed all the software from the CD it came with, just to have the video converter and that. It's working fine!Message Edited by kayronjm on 04-24-2007:0 PM
