When scrolling webpages go white, and take a second to refresh.

I upgraded to FF18 Friday. This morning I'm having problems with the browser window, and the menu bars and bookmark side bar.
The browser window goes completely white when scrolling up or down, with mouse scroll wheel, or the side slider.
The areas where the file menu and address bar where the navigation buttons along with the bookmarks side bar will go completely black. I can put the mouse over the areas, and they are functional, though I cannot see what I'll be clicking.
My system is running XP

hello gedwardsvper, please either try updating your graphics driver (this should be the right link for your model: http://www.nvidia.com/object/quadro-tesla-winxp-x32-307.45-whql-driver.html) or disable hardware acceleration in firefox > options > advanced > general.

  • Safari slower and takes 6 seconds to access bookmarks

After updating to mountain lion, Safari is not only slower, but when I launch it, it takes six seconds for me to be able to see my bookmarks after clicking on a folder in the bar. Then the first link I click on a link causes a spinning beachball fro a while, without the URL loading. After the beachball has stopped I can hit enter and everything then works fine.

That's definitely not normal.  Safari is much faster in ML than in Lion for me.  I would empty Safari's cache, which in Mountain Lion is done through the Develop menu.  (If you don't have the Develop menu, go to the Advanced pane in Safari's preferences and check the box to show it.)
If that doesn't fix it, try resetting Safari, using the Reset Safari item in the Safari menu.
If it's still borked after that, quit Safari and go to the Finder and go to /Users/yourusername/Library/Caches.  In that folder, find and delete the com.apple.Safari folder, then re-open Safari.
One last thing to try is to remove any Safari extensions.  Go to the Extensions pane in Safari's preferences and disable everything there (uncheck the "Enable whatever" button for each item).

  • My mac has turned my menus when i scroll over them white, and a part of safari see through and when ever i unclick the translucent menu bar option, it stays transclucent? HELP

My mac has turned the menus white, safari see through, and my menu bar permanently translucent. What do i do?

From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab.
If there are any extensions installed, turn that OFF, then quit and relaunch Safari to test.

  • Scroll bars turn white and don't move until mouse hovers over.

I recently started using Photoshop on my surface pro 3 and when I scroll (using the track pad) side to side and up and down the scroll bars will turn a white color and just freeze. The bars don't go back to normal until I take my mouse and hover over them. I can use my mouse to click the scroll bars and move them without a problem just not track pad use.
This is also the newest version of CC.

I never use a null layout myself but if I've copied any code off this forum where someone else has, then usually I can't see the components and have to change it to FlowLayout or whatever is best suited to achieving the desired result.
Try setting your top panel to a FlowLayout and see if this cures the problem.

  • LR 3.3 crashes when I go to Develop and takes down my whole XP system

I've been trying out Lightroom 3.3 - first the release candidate and  now the 30 day trial (a week and a half left). The problem emerged  shortly after I installed the final version in mid December, but  continued when I fell back to the Release Candidate. At this point I'm  back in the final version, since the RC expired with New Years.
I'm running XP Pro Service Pack 3, which has been stable for a long time.
I  can have Lightroom create a catalog of my nearly 19,000 photos, which  are on a fast external firewire drive, and it runs fine for a little  while, letting me use all of its modules.
Then it froze when I tried to go to Develop  - forcing me to close it with the close button on its title bar.
Then it froze on startup the next time - which I found I could avoid by deleting the stranded .LCK (lock) file.
I've  taken to starting it by clicking on the catalog file I want to use (I  have it back up the catalog on every normal exit) after deleting both  the lock and journal files.
Lightroom's freezing would  be bad enough in itself, but after I close it with the close button  after a crash, it takes the rest of XP down with it in a freeze that  starts a few seconds later if I try to click inside the Explorer window I  started it from.
Sometimes I can avoid the  delayed-action house of cards effect by closing that explorer window  with Task Manager, but not always.
Is anyone else experiencing this kind of behavior from Lightroom?
I love it when it works, but it drives me up the wall when it takes down the whole machine!

I disabled the nVidia Desktop Manager that came with my video card through its Control Panel applet and the problem was solved.

  • When i use eraser tool and take hand off mouse everything i erased reappears, does anyone know why?

When i am using the eraser tool and i take my hand off the mouse all the work i erased instantly reappears, does anyone know why? (i'm very new to illustrator). Thanks in advance for any help.

What Mike says but remember that the eraser is a very crude tool.
As a beginner you should begin by learning how the vector paths behave. Learn how to add and subtract anchor points and work with the bézier handles.

  • Textflow loses editability when scroll policy is off and attempting line breaks

    See my example:
    http://aaronhardy.com/transfer/TLFTester/TLFTester.html
Place your cursor somewhere in the middle of the text and hit enter a few times.  Notice that the second or third line break doesn't take effect and it appears as though the text flow lost focus.  Worse yet, it appears the text flow has lost all editing capability.
Right-click the app for the source.  Notice the text flow container is within a custom component in Flex 3.
Ideas?  Does this need to be reported as a bug?
The workaround is to NOT set verticalScrollPolicy to off.

    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
    == I UPGRADED TO 3.6

I have the same problem and tested it in Safe Mode, and did the disable the add-ons thing. Everything went OK, even up to the last add-on. There wasn't a hint of the problem anymore, so I went back to regular use of FF (3.6.12) again. WELL, THE SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN!!! I agree with the person who said that your supposed troubleshooting is B.S. You blame the user instead of saying something useful like "OK, we heard you (and over two dozen others) and we know it's not your doing, and it's OUR PROBLEM, and we're going to look into it and figure out how to fix it, AND we'll get back to you when we do and tell you how to fix it too." THAT's the kind of answer we FF users want to hear, not some claptrap about how WE the users didn't try hard enough to fix it on our own!

  • Determine when a signal changes state and then evaluate second channel

Ok, I need some help from you math geniuses (or those that remember calculus).
I am recording two signals to a TDMS file, one is a pressure measurement and the other is a trigger monitor channel (basically it records a voltage change when the device is triggered).
So what I want to do is when the device has been triggered (voltage changes from around 1 V to around 0 volts), I want to evaluate my pressure channel to see how quickly it gets above a certain threshold.
I am thinking I need to integrate the trigger channel and somehow correlate that to the pressure channel, but I could be wrong.
    I attached a sample dataset.
    Thanks for the help.

Could you not find PSI when on/off first reaches about 0 in your table, then grab the corresponding time, then find your PSI threshold, grab the time and subtract the two to get the elapsed time?  Or maybe I am missing something - I'm no math genius.
    Edit:
Oh, maybe you are evaluating them in real time and not from the table?

  • Firefox 37 Beta on Windows 8.1 has lag and stuttering when scrolling

I just recently got a new laptop, and since the minute I've installed firefox on it there has been lag when scrolling webpages. It seems to start off not too badly, with there being some stuttering when I first open firefox, however it seems like the longer I'm browsing the worse it gets, to the point where sometimes I'll start scrolling and then a second later firefox will just jump to the bottom of the page. Internet Explorer and Chrome both have perfectly smooth scrolling.
I've tried numerous things to fix it already, this is some of the stuff I can remember trying:
-Turning off hardware acceleration and smooth scrolling
    -Starting in safe mode
    -Complete reinstall with new profile
-Updating graphics card and intel drivers
    Specs of the new laptop:
    Core i7
    GTX 970M
    16Gb RAM

When I was trying different versions of Firefox to see if they all had the scrolling problem, I made sure to try 36, 38, and even 31.5 ESL portable. They all have the scrolling problem when my laptop is unplugged. However, when I tried Tor just to see what would happen - bingo! Perfectly smooth scrolling once more. This is especially weird as Tor uses 31.5.3 ESL as a base...
This made me think that it could potentially be a plugin, as Tor doesn't have any plugins installed other than Flash. However, after first disabling, then manually removing, every plugin that was listed in about:plugins the problem continues to persist.
Any idea why Tor would work flawlessly while every other version of firefox suffers the scrolling issue? I couldn't seem to remove the OpenH264 Video Codec provided by Cisco Systems, plugin. Is it possible to remove it in order to see if it is causing the problem?

  • What can i do when my ipod screen goes white and i cant see anything?

Please! Somebody give me some advice on what to do when my ipod is white and i cant see anything? i can listen to music but i cant see what i am listening to?

If none of the usual 5 R's of troubleshooting do any good, you'll need to have the iPod either serviced or replaced as the LCD screen or ribbon cable is damaged or faulty.

  • MBP Retina sound when scrolling???

    Hey guys,
Just wondering is it ok? when scrolling in safari up and down you can hear a low noise of digital sound tzz tzz tzz only when scrolling!
you must put your head to the keyboard to hear it =)))
    OSX Lion 10.7.4
    thanks

Yeah, I have the similar problem, especially when I connect my computer with the charger. I can tell obviously there's some sound by the power button area. But I could not hear that when it's not charging.
I just bought the computer 2 days ago. I'm not sure they gonna fix this after next system upgrade.
Tryptomine, do you still have that problem? Have you got any chance to go to AppleStore to talk with them about this issue?

  • Opening a new mail window takes 5 seconds to appear

When I click New Mail it takes 4 seconds to appear for this Window. This is already for many months. I have a .Mac account and three other POP accounts and a fresh other user doesn't have this problem. I might trash some prefs, but I don't want to organize my whole E-mail again. Somebody some clue what to do?

Go to Apple Menu > System Preferences > Network > Show: Network Port Configurations. Make sure that the configuration used to connect to Internet is at the top of the list. Also, disable any communications/networking configuration enabled, but not in use. Since you don't experience the problem when logged in as another user, this probably won't solve it, but it's worth looking at anyway.
Now, in Mail go to Mail > Preferences > Accounts > Mailbox Behaviors for your .Mac account. Do you have Store draft messages on the server enabled? If so, disable it and see whether it makes a difference.
