When selecting "bookmark this page" the location select window right side and bottom are cut off, no visible buttons
After I select "bookmark this page" from the bookmarks menu, and then select "show all the bookmarks folders" with the pulldown arrow, the bookmarks folder list appears but the right side and the bottom are cut off so that no buttons are showing. Trying to resize the window does not work. Double clicking on the desired folder selects the folder name for editing, however, the caption at the top says "bookmark saved" and sometimes it is actually where I would like it to be added.
After finding that I did not have a chrome folder, or userchrome.css file, I installed ChromEdit Plus. Through this app I was able to create a chrome folder and the userchrome.css file using the information from finitarry. The problem still existed. I then edited userchrome.css changing the values to "min-width:800px !important; min-height:800px !important; " The results were; same problem, just bigger. This code changes the folderview pane in the add bookmarks window. The problem is the pane expands larger than the window. Let me see if I can clairify, When you select "bookmark this page" the add bookmark "window" opens. to open the folderview pane, click on the down arrow to the right of the folder pulldown menu. The window is not expanding to contain the pane correctly and pushes all the other controls off the screen.

There seems to be folders in my bookmark library that I cannot locate, even when looking carefully through "show all bookmarks". When I select "bookmark this page" for one of the "missing" sites, it shows that it is all ready bookmarked in a particular folder. But I cannot find those folders!
Try reformatting it in Disk utility and make sure to erase the raw drive's 500GB and that it is HFS and set to GUID Partition Table.

The bookmarks toolbar will not open the folders. It just saves the current page at the end of the the bookmarks list.Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

I select "bookmarks", I select "bookmark this page" and nothing happens. Doesnt matter if I am in regular mode, or safe mode.

It's Shaunn, the original poster. Thanks for your posting. I'm glad I'm not the only one that's having this problem.
Now that you mention it, I'm having the exact same problem on Facebook as well, when I play Family Feud.
I wish someone would investigate and post a solution to this problem. No-one from Playlist has responded, and no-one "Officially" from Firefox either.

In MONTH, (PC) iCal only clearly lists 2 items a day. The 3rd item is "faded" and bottom portion cut off, w/ a "more" triangle in the lower-right corner. How can I expand (vertically) so the 3rd line posts clearly, and ONLY shows "more" if 4+ events?
Better yet... as there's a lot of "wasted" space w/ too large Month title and empty space surrounding the Month title above and too much space surrounding the month/year slider bar below, how can I minimize these to allow me more usable / valuable calendar "contents" so I don't need to waste so much time clicking "more" just to see the bottom of the truncated third event and find out there are no 4+ events posted that date? i.e. more "user-friendly" presentation?

I keep trying to download itunes in Safari but get a message that and error has happened 2/3 and check window> activity. Then it shows A sever with the specified host name could not…… and then it cuts off the rest of the message. I have reset Safari and still nothing!!!
Very frustrated!!!It's downloading with Firefox 3.6.27 as I write. It's probably more a Safari problem in your case for which people on the Safari forum could provide suggestions. Or mybe just try again in a while as I suspect everybody is downloading right now.

I really want to help you make Mozilla the best of them all, so here goes: When I want to bookmark a page, those wonderfully imported IE favorites I see in the dropdown when I clik Bookmarks...do no appear? Now...at the bottom of the bookmarks dropdown with those IE favorites is one folder called "from internet explorer"...it is the favorites as I imported them...and at first, I did get the folders of my new Bookmarks...which used to be favorites. It is so hard to explain...yet I really liked everything about your Mozilla OpenSource product enough to say, just give me a quick ring...or a way to do it via chat at any certain time or whatever. My droid is 410-279-6886 My "Edress" is: [email protected] A lot of us in the White House Press Corps have this issue/problem, and so I suppose alot of others do too...and I want to help as I see them all going back to IE...and I believe in you folks. Building a better rocket ship is very difficult...yet I want the good guys/gals to win - & that would be you! So...ring me if it's something that is not some simple fix...like me being a normal dorkey clueless computer user which you can do with a quick email. When I use Firefox on a Windows based computer a side "ad" bar comes up on the right side(if looking at the computer) and one comes up on the bottom that offers other searches similar to the website I am on.

The removal of the "Bookmark this page" selection was a huge mistake. None of the answers really solve the issue. Click the star and then click it again so you can edit the bookmark then move it to the folder you want, or install this add-on to manage your bookmarks. The real fix for this issue is simply to put the selection back. People want simple and when they have something that works well they don't want it to change just because the programmer wanted to do it differently. So when will this functionality be returning?
* If you click the ★ Star Icon once, the bookmark ends up in the Unsorted Bookmarks folder.
* If you double-click the ★ Star Icon, you get to pick where to place the bookmark.
* If you right-click (or Ctrl+click on a Mac) an empty area of the web page and choose Bookmark This Page, the bookmark ends up in the Bookmarks Menu folder and you get to pick where to place it.
* If you press Ctrl+D (Mac: Command+D), the bookmark ends up in the Bookmarks Menu folder and you get to pick where to place it.
* You can click and drag the site icon (usually a globe or a padlock) on the left side of the address bar onto either the Bookmarks Toolbar, the Bookmarks Sidebar (Ctrl+B; Mac: Command+B), or the Library (Ctrl+Shift+B; Mac: Command+Shift+B; Linux: Ctrl+Shift+O).

I see no reason to believe menu items that were deemed clutter will be reintroduced — especially when there are multiple ways to perform the action in question. -
All of a sudden, I can no longer add a Bookmark by selecting 'Bookmark This Page', then select its destination file. Now it's a lot more work to move the new Bookmark to the file I've chosen for its destination. Was this option eliminated, or is something now missing from my 'Bookmarks' drop down menu?
If this option was removed, would you please restore it as quickly as possible? This is a strong browser changer.To make a long story short, I recommend using one of these methods for calling up the "old" dialog in Firefox 29 and 30:
* right-click the page > Bookmark This Page ''(avoid right-clicking a link, form field, or image, as those have special menus)
* Ctrl+d
The longer story is: in the new button, the star icon on the left bookmarks the current page. Like the old star icon that used to sit in the address bar, it simply drops the bookmark into the Unsorted Bookmarks folder. To change the folder, either double-click the star initially, or click it again to call up the Edit Bookmark dialog. This is very similar to the "old" dialog but the default location is Unsorted Bookmarks instead of Bookmarks Menu.
There might be an add-on to change how this works, but I haven't seen one yet. -
Bookmark this page opens a different dropdown that does not save - why?
I've just reinstalled Win-XP Pro after a serious crash and had to reinstall Firefox as well. I have just installed the latest version upgrade and now absolutely nothing happens when I select "Bookmark this page" from the Bookmarks dropdown menu.
Try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox (you need to close and restart Firefox).

Hi All,
I understand that Forms 6i and Oracle 9 iAS have been de-supported for years. Meanwhile we do still run a small application in the 9 iAS environment.
We have forms and reports running on Windows 2000 server, I am able to successfully clone the same 9 iAS from Windows 2000 to a Virtual Server Windows 2003 x32 and all runs fine, the only problem is that the fonts in the pdf reports are larger in the new Windows 2003 environment as compared to the original Windows 2000 and characters are cut off when they don't fit in the pdf report output in 2003 env.
Any advice is most appreciated.

What happened to "bookmark this page" selection in the "show your bookmarks" menu on the right?
Now I have to:
1) click again on the stupid blue star to get the menu to place my new bookmark where I choose to instead of have it go to unsorted bookmarks...
OR
2) bring up or have up the menu bar and click on the "bookmarks" menu choice of "bookmark this page" which brings up what I'd call the choice or sort menu that lets me access my bookmarks menu...
...where I wanted to go to create a bookmark AND I get to select "choose", which is what I used to do when adding ANY bookmark.
I want the "bookmark this page" selection back on the "show your bookmarks" list on the right...where it belongs. Why does everyone want to keep hiding the useful tools?
Firefox 29 stinks and I've had nothing but problems from the beginning...and since making the mistake of resetting.
I now have a folder of stuff that I have no clue what to do with as, upon resetting, I got "Oooops this is embarrassing, we're having a problem" or something. Any clues about what to do with all that "junk" (now, to me) might also be helpful.I was used to being able to select the folder to place my bookmark without going into an edit session. This is as useless now as windows "libraries"

When I print a selected area of web page, it doesn't fit to the paper. The end of each page are cut off.
I'm very sure my printer is set cirrectly.
Can't Firefox shrink to fit when I want to print a selected area of web pages?
This has never occurred in IE.File >Page Setup -- check your margins, I have set size to 85% which is probably left over from some problem. Also check your printer that it is correctly set to the size of the paper.

When i drag a URL over to my bookmarks or click on bookmark this page (on a Mac BTW) it doesn't let me do it. Not even with the star. Like when i try to bookmark some cell phone forums and gamefaq boards it says "website did not supply identity information" and it doesn't even let me bookmark that page unless i go to a different part of the site. Is there any type of fix for this???

Are you using the beta? it's not fully secure, so try using Firefox 3 instead. If you are already using Firefox 3, it seems like what Firefox is saying is correct- the site is not supplying identity information. So what you could do is go to that exact site, then click on the little golden lock at the very corner of the page. Then, enter the 'permissions' tab and allow everything. Exit, and then try bookmarking the page!
