When selecting "MUSIC" my ipod shuts down and turns back on again??

I can use the select button to click on any other menu item, but when I click on MUSIC it shuts down and the apple logo is shown and restarts again. Currently, I can only shuffle my songs. Please help!! I've already tried resetting it and it didnt work.

You might restore it & see if that helps;

  • My w-fi connection keeps shutting down and turning back on, every few seconds.  I don't know what the issue could be? Any suggestions?

The past few days my wi-fi on my iPad has been shutting off and turning back on.  This has not been the case with any other Apple product I own.  I tried resetting the wi-fi settings already and it didn't work.  Does any have any suggestions?

Well, i kinda follow your advice... but I went to the repair guy first. I asked him what did he repaired on my compter : he told me he did all the tests and follow the protocol, and that my computer was fine. Nothing was wrong with it. Yeah, right.
So I called back Apple. That was such a waste of time ! They told me to send it in repair AGAIN. I told them that the only repair center in my town cannot find the problem. They told me to go and make it repair at another center, in another town. The nearest is one hour away. I don't have a car. I don't have time. How am I supposed to get there ? "find a friend with a car", she replied.
The girl was realy stupid. Am i gonna waste time going twice to a repair center 1 hour away from home ? Come on... She refused to send me a box to ship it to them for repair. She just kept on telling me i need to get it repair, again and again. She was a waste of time. She wanted me to go back to the repair center that cannot find the problem or pay like 200 $ to get on a bus with my computer and waste 2 days on the road.
I send it back to the repair center in my town this morning. And tomorrow, I'll just go to FutureShop and buy myself the cheapest PC i can find, because i NEED a computer for all my exams and my presentations. And when i'll get my macbook back, i'll juste leave it running on the self and hope it will fail again as soon as possible so I can recall them and listen to them tell me to send it back again in repair... and waste again, more and more time on a computer that never worked good.
This is realy getting ridiculous... They realy don't care at all. They just want me to shut up and get used to it... I just can't wait to see what the repair guy will tell me...

  • Has your first generation iPad ever just shut down and turn back on by itself?

I have just created a new iPad name and account, changing from the previous owner.  After synching and completing the thing, it now shuts off and on at will, therefore making it impossible to use it. Any ideas?

No sim card means just that. THere's either no sim card in your iPad or the iPad can't see it. Try turning your 3G antenna off. I believe it's under settings.
You can also give your iPad a reset. Hold down the sleep and home keys, past when you see the red power down slider and until you see the silver apple. Let it reboot and see if that clears up the glitch.

  • Airport turns off - must shut down and turn back on

Hi. I am wondering if anybody else is having a similar problem with their late 2008 MacBook aluminum. In the last few weeks I have found that Airport on the MacBook will not turn on. This usually happens when I start the computer. Airport does not start up. I can click the Turn Airport On from the drop down menu as much as I want, and the command is ignored. I must shutdown the MacBook and restart it. That usually fixes the problem.
My router is an Airport Extreme which I purchased in April of 2007.
    Anyone else experiencing this problem?

One of the Apple software updates has apparently fixed this problem.

    Hi aaliyafrommarkham,
In order to troubleshoot this, I would recommend that you start with an SMC reset. Information on this procedure can be found here:

Restore loop (being prompted to restore again after a restore successfully completes): This issue is typically caused by out-of-date or incorrectly configured third-party security software. Please followTroubleshooting security software issues if USB troubleshooting does not resolve this issue.
Error 13 and 14: These errors are typically resolved by performing one or more of the steps listed below:
Perform USB isolation troubleshooting, including trying a different USB port directly on the computer. See the advanced steps below for USB troubleshooting.
Put a USB 2.0 hub between the device and the computer.
    Try a different USB 30-pin dock-connector cable.
    Eliminate third-party security software conflicts.

Your default packet size being set incorrectly can cause this error. Contact the manufacturer of the software that installed the packet-size modification for assistance. Or, follow this article by Microsoft: How to reset Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) to reset the packet size back to the default for Windows.

I have iPad air, screen freezes after FaceTime call and cannot get back to home screen, have to power down and turn back on to get back to home screen.  What am I doing wrong?

    Hi RWD2,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
To resolve your issue with Facetime freezing when you end a call, I would try the first three steps in the article below.
iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3281
    Resolution
If a single application is not responding or stops responding when it opens, you can force it to close.
If the device is unresponsive or if certain controls aren't working as expected, restart your device.
If the device remains unresponsive or does not turn on (or power on), reset your device.
If you are using Wi-Fi, it may be helpful to try these troubleshooting steps as well:
iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398?viewlocale=en_US
Reset network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Note: This will reset all network settings including previously connected Wi-Fi networks and passwords
iOS and OS X: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points

I hope this information helps ....

Thanks for keeping us posted lizy7796. May I ask did the replacement device resolved the powering concern? Also, how much available device memory do you have after you restored your info onto the new device? If you have any additional questions then as always we're here to help.

  • When I try to use iMessage on my iPod touch 4 (ios6) the iPod shuts down and restarts

Every time I try to open my iMessage my iPod shuts down. I have a 4th gen iPod with ios6. I will attempt to open the app and it will either shut down and restart as soon as the white screen comes up or I will see my previous messages and try to open a thread then it will restart. I have tried restarting the phone as well as turning iMessage on as off. Has anybody else had this problem? What can I do?

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

Go to settings>Messages>Send and Receive and sign out of Messages and sign back in.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

i was using my ipod earlier today, had it running via auxilary cable to my work radio, and it was working just fine, and when i pulled the cable out, it shut off, and became unresponsive, i tried charging it with multiple different chargers, from cars, to computers and the wall outlets aswell, nothing works. and nothing has ever gone wrong with it, is there anything that can be done?

    Error 1604
This error is often related to USB timing. Try changing USB ports, using a different dock connector to USB cable, and other available USB troubleshooting steps (troubleshooting USB connections. If you are using a dock, bypass it and connect directly to the white Apple USB dock connector cable. If the issue persists on a known-good computer, the device may need service.
If the issue is not resolved by USB isolation troubleshooting, and another computer is not available, try these steps to resolve the issue:
Connect the device to iTunes, confirm that the device is in Recovery Mode. If it's not in Recovery Mode, put it into Recovery Mode.
Restore and wait for the error.
    When prompted, click OK.
Close and reopen iTunes while the device remains connected.
The device should now be recognized in Recovery Mode again.
    Try to restore again.
If the steps above do not resolve the issue, try restoring using a known-good USB cable, computer, and network connection.
    Error 1600, 1601, 1602
Follow the steps listed above for Error 1604. This error may also be resolved by disabling, deactivating, or uninstalling third-party security, antivirus, and firewall software. See steps in this article for details on troubleshooting security software.
