They cant open the PDF there I send

IE usually does content sniffing to see which file is received, but Firefox require the correct MIME type and will display the file as text if the server sends the file as text/plain as many servers do in such a case.
You can check the HTTP response headers with the Live Http Headers extension.

It has nothing to do with iOS 6. It's always been that way. Given that it's been this way for so long, one assumes that Apple knows about it and has their own reasons for not changing it.
Restore the phone as new, not from back up to delete the numbers. Or, wait until the cache gets overwritten.

That usually means that the recipient is in a bad wifi or cellular data signal area.

My iPhone accepts messages from a straight talk phone, when sending a text it goes through on my end but never appears on the straight talk phone. I'm having to use a secondary app that allows me to send a message that actually appears on the straight talk phone. I now have the iPhone 5 thinking it would fix the problem but it did not, and now that I have the 4G LTE it uses up my internet in a second.

According to Macworld it is a lowest common denominator situation. If any of the people on your list are not iMessage people then all the messages go out SMS and will count against your messages from your provider. Bummer IMHO, but that is the way it is.

How do I disable sound when sending a text

My iPhone has been doing this lately and it's really annoying especially when all texting sounds have been turned off. It seems this one cannot.
I'm talking about the sound the iPhone makes when it finishes sending a text.
I see no option to turn this off. Is this something new with the latest update?
Have I mentioned that this is really annoying?

There has never been a setting to turn off the send SMS/MMS sound in the iPhone.
There is probably nothing in this world that isn't really annoying to someone.

When I send a text message using Siri how do I get it to put in the correct punctuation? If I want to ask a question it bugs me there is no question mark.

You actually have to say "question mark" at the end (you can also say period, comma, etc)

5800 Number input when sending a text

I just been trying to send a text message by manually inputting the number (rather than select from the contacts) but I dont get the option to do this. I can only get the option of alphabetic keys not number keys. I'm sure I was able to do this previously and accessed it by tapping on the To: section of the screen and to get access to my contact I tapped on the figure of a person.....

Whilst in a message press on the line next to the "to:" button and it will bring up a text entry screen.
Whilst in that screen press the "abc" button in the top right corner and select "number mode".
This is assuming you are using the standard alphanumeric keypad with the phone in the upright position.

How can I use Firefox to view a pdf in a local file? On the web pdf's open in Acrobat but in a local file (file:///C:/T10/drafts/adc3/adc3r04.pdf) Firefox displays raw text instead of launching Acrobat

I am configured to open pdf's in Acrobat instead of Firefox. This works great on the web. I have a local mirror of a website on my local disk as well as a network disk. When I use my html file to attempt to open the pdf on the local disk (file:///C:/T10/drafts/adc3/adc3r04.pdf) it opens as text in Firefox - appears to be ASCII view of the binary contents of the pdf. When I use my html file on my network disk (http://tucgsa.ibm.com/~kdbutt/T10/drafts/adc3/adc3r04.pdf) everything works as it should.

You can set the pdfjs.disabled pref to true on the <b>about:config</b> page to disable the build-in PDF viewer and use the Adobe Reader instead.

That squeaky sound when sending a text?

When I first got my 3gs it made this little squeaky sound after I hit the send button during a text message. It doesn't do it anymore. I had the chime turned off for text notification, but turned it back on, but that sound isn't there.

clik "Settings" .... then clik "Sounds" , then swipe down to "Sent Mail" and turn it to "Off" .....

When I text someone the person receives a blank message. When they send I do not receive a message at all and don't even know one has been sent. I read other forums and I downloaded a different messaging app (handcent) that was recommended but it does the same thing. Tried turning airplane mode on and off as one suggested. Removed battery and waited and then replaced as suggested. None of these worked. Ideas? Please help.
