When sending to Encore do effects auto render?

If you select "Adobe Dynamic Link" "Send to Encore" option for your completed show, do you have to prerender any graphic or audio effects first or is this all taken care of automatically when sent to Encore?
Steve

And isn't that feature just freakin' awesome?!? I love rendering once when going to disk only! :)

  • What encode setting are used when sending to Encore from Premiere?

    Hi All,
I have a an HDV 1440x1080 30p video and sequence in Premiere CS4. If I export it to AME, i can set the output format and presets to whatever i want. In my case, I set AME to Format: "MPEG2-DVD" and Preset: "NTSC Progressive Widescreen High Quality" and leave the other settings alone.
However, when I send the sequence via Dynamic Link from Premiere CS4 to Encoder and press on the build button, what default settings is Encore CS4 using to create the DVD?
I am assuming that i can bring up "Export Settings" in Encore prior to building to alter the default export settings and in my case i would use the Encore Export Settings:
    Format: MPEG2-DVD
Preset: Progressive High Quality 7Mb VBR 2 Pass
and leave the other Encore export settings alone.
BTW, i think its interesting that the default export settings for MPEG2-DVD, Progressive (Standard and Widescreen) High Quality in AME from both Premiere and Encore have different basic video, bitrate and GOP settings.

The 'Automatic' transcoding setting is dynamic - it changes whenever you add or subtract from the project. One of the main benefits of using it is that Encore will automatically calculate the bit budget for your disc.
But if it's somehow not working out, you need to reconsider using it.
Normally, I do my own bit budget (there are several online bit budgeting apps out there). But then, I'm a 'manual' kinda guy...

  • Must render everything in Premiere Pro before sending to Encore?

I think the answer is no, I DON'T have to have EVERYTHING in the Premiere Pro sequence that I'm sending to Encore completely rendered as I don't think I see any problems BUT am I missing something?
Thanks in advance for guidance here.

Moral: don't walk away! Ha, ha!
All rendering does is create preview files. This helps realtime playback. In the end, you don't want to use those when you transcode (create the actual file that will be used as the final product).
Dynamic link simply creates a link to one of the PR sequences, and when it is time to create the DVD format, Encore (or since CS5 you have the option for Adobe Media Encoder) will transcode the PR sequence into a file that EN will use to "build" the disk.
You need to look at some of the threads on Macs and external drives. Sorry, can't point you to a specific one, but I suspect someone else can.
    http://forums.adobe.com/community/premiere?view=overview
Edit: Here's a post that explains a bit of this differently. There are lots of particulars, and you have the choice of using your preview files. But the prevailing wisdom is that you get better quality if you use "maximum render quality" which does not use old preview files.

Tried to reinstall my CS6 master collection onto my iMac. It will not install - In Design, Fireworks, Premiere Pro, Encore, After Effects, Flash Professional, Photoshop, Illustrator & Prelude. Could you give me some advice. I noticed problems when I was doing some 3D work and the computer kept crashing and thought I would just reinstall my software.

uninstall (using the uninstallers), clean Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6 and then reinstall.

  • After Effects wont render video completely

Usually I am pretty good at solving problems, but for this issue, it seems that I cannot figure out why I can't fully render a composition. I've used After Effects for over 3 years and I've done tons of video work for clients.
The issue lies when I send my entire composition to the render queue. My export range is for the entire composition. But when I press render, it only renders 21 seconds and then stops completing the action of rendering.
I'm in Adobe CC 2014, if that makes enough of a difference to fixing my problem.
    Can I get some help?

I just recently installed the newest version of After Effects and did a system reboot. I make it past 0:21:09, but the render stops at random points. The farthest it makes is to 0:52:03. It is a three minute long video. I get an status saying "Failed at (Timecode)".
This is the latest version of Adobe. I am operating under 10.8.5.
I don't understand why I am having these issues.
For it will stop at times before then, but, I honestly dont know the issue.

  • Send to encore... multiple timelines from PPro CS4

    Hi
Firstly, apologies if I've missed an answer to this somewhere else. Here's my problem...
I have a HDV 50i PAL project that I want to burn to blu-ray. The project is currently split into three separate timelines in Premiere. At the moment, I'm selecting a timeline and sending it to Encore. I'll then try and send the second timeline to Encore, but it always wants to open a new Encore project.
So my question is, is there a way of making Encore add the second timeline to the same project as the first timeline?
I prefer sending to Encore rather than using the AME as Encore's automatic settings always seem to be better than those from the AME. For example, if I export using AME and HQ presets, one timeline is coming out as 13gig, whereas the same timeline automatically encoded in Encore is coming out at 19gig (maximum render quality used both times) - Quite a difference.
    Hope that makes sense
Any help would be very welcome
    David

    Hey Stan,
looks like you have been where I'm trying to go.  I have some similar questions from CS5.5.
-I have several timelines in PP that I want to dynamically link into Encore.
-When I use dynamic link I only get one of the timelines from PP dynamically linked to the Encore job, and the others don't come through?
-I've tried to select all time lines in PP, but it does not allow this.
-1st question:  How do I get all my PP timelines to come into Encore via dynamic link?
-I've searched around for this and everything I encounter is one PP timeline, with imported other assets.  I don't want to do it that way, as I need the features
of dynamic link to edit PP timelines and have them updated in Encore, etc.  I like that flexibility.
-2nd question: Once you have dynamically linked multiple PP timelines to Encore, how do you add yet another dynamic link from the same job in PP?  For example; lets say I have 3 timelines that were originally linked into Encore, but at some point I needed to drop another timeline to that same  PP job, and then link that to the same job in Encore.  Is it possible to dynamically link a later added PP timeline into the same Encore job?
    Thank you
    Derek...

  • Reporting Services Webpart - web part does not auto render consistantly

We are on SharePoint 2010 (integrated with Reporting Services)- on several sites we have added the Reporting Services Web Part and with a saved parameter.  The behavior of this web part is not consistent.  There are times when I open up a site
and the web part will auto render the report.  5 minutes later I can go into the same site, and the web part does not auto render the report.  I have to do edit page, or close and re-open the web site.  Has anyone experienced this type of behavior.
I've looked for assistance with this issue on-line cannot find anything that specifically addresses this issue.

    Hi Karen,
If the parameters have default values in the report, then the report can be rendered automatically.
For this issue, I recommend to verify the things below:
Does this issue occur when you open the page with the web part in a new tab in the browser or go back to the previous opened tab?
Does this issue occur in the server side or client side?
Please add the site to trusted sites in Internet Explorer to see how it works.
Please change another browser to see how it works.
For narrowing down the issue scope, please test with another report and compare the results.
    Thanks,
    Victoria

  • Video does not display when sending from Final Cut Pro to Motion

Suddenly, when sending an audio & video sequence to Motion, a new Motion file is created, and all my layers come in properly, but the video does not display.
The audio plays fine, and Motion clearly know that there are video tracks there, but it does not display them.
Additionally, when rendering the Motion file back in FCP, it turns in to black video.
I have previous sequences within the same project that were sent just fine, and are editable properly, but any new ones I try to create just come out black.
    Help, please?

Do you have Motion mistakenly set to render out with an Alpha channel?
Double click your Motion clip in the Timeline. Go to Modify > Composite Mode in the menu bar and set the Alpha to "None/Ignore".

  • Premiere CC 2014 hangs when sending sequences to Media Encoder CC 2014

Whenever I try to send a sequence from Premiere Pro CC 2014 to Media Encoder CC 2014, Premiere immediately freezes and becomes unresponsive. AME seems to still be running just fine.
I've tried the following troubleshooting steps:
    – Clearing the media cache.
    – Clearing and moving the scratch disks.
    – Deleting all render previews and re-building them.
    – Completely re-installing all of Adobe's Creative Cloud suite.
    – Importing the at-question PPCC14 project file into a fresh PPCC14 project and importing only the sequence I need to export.
    – Dragging and dropping the at-question Premiere sequence into AME.
    – Opening only AME and trying to drag the entire Premiere project file from Finder.app into AME's render queue. (This happens to work, as a matter of fact, however something strange happens once the sequence is in the AME queue. It pops up just fine, I can change the render settings and file export location, but when I click the green play button at the top right, nothing happens. AME doesn't hang or freeze up or anything, it's just that nothing happens. No prep, no nothing – very strange.)
    – Uninstalling CUDA completely and tried using only OpenCL and software-only rendering engines.
    – Opening the same at-question project on an entirely different computer.
    – Trying to export from PPCC14 itself.
    – Tried opening up an entirely different PPCC14 project and exporting – worked perfectly. So it must be something with this specific project file.
I eventually got it working (honestly, I'm not even sure what I did – at that point it felt like I was in a zombie state after four hours of troubleshooting and was just repeating troubleshooting steps because I was trying to hit a deadline with this export.) I was able to export it directly from PPCC14 – I was never able to get it to work with AMECC14, however.
Other miscellaneous noteworthy things: This project I'm trying to export is massive – it's a feature documentary that's about 2 hours in length. It's very complex in its edits, has a mixture of ProRes 422 files and .MTS files, and the entire project is reading media from three separate USB 3.0 hard drives. I know that's not the ideal workflow, but it's been doing just fine until this last time I tried to render out the latest export for our client.
Thanks in advance for anyone's help.

I've tried importing into a new blank project, but that did not seem to work. I then tried selecting the sequence in the bin and exporting that as a "Simplified Project" via the File menu. That still does not work when sending the sequence to AMECC14, but it does work when I render straight from PPCC14.
I have also found that as long as I give it enough time to load up and all that, I seem to be able to export just fine from PPCC14 itself – I'm still getting the freezing/hanging when trying to send to AMECC14 however.
Thanks for the help so far Cgunningham – I really appreciate it. I'll keep following up here if I find anything else new out.

  • How do you disable the sound when sending tweets from "Click to Tweet" in the Notification Center?

So, ever since the "Click to Tweet" button appeared, anytime you post to Twitter with it, your heard a bird whistling sound. This was cute at first, but has become increasingly annoying (and probably not just to me, but also to my co-workers). Sure, I could mute my speakers prior to sending, but a.) I usually forget, and b.) I shouldn't have to.
In a similar manner, the "Click to Post" to Facebook button makes the "woosh" noise that Mail.app makes when sending an email.
These sounds should be able to be disabled or muted. The only solution I've found online so far is to move/rename/change permissions of the actual sound file itself on the file system. That seems way to extreme.
In summary: am I just missing some obvious setting, or is there really no way to mute/disable these sounds?

The best way to do this is to leave all files unchanged, but render the file containing that horrendous bird noise unreadable to the system. Open a terminal window, and paste this command:
    sudo chmod 000 /System/Library/Frameworks/Social.framework/XPCServices/com.apple.twitter.xpc/C ontents/Resources/TwitterSent.caf
That's it. Your Tweets should hereinafter be silent unless you change TwitterSent.caf's permissions again.

throw Exception "java.io.IOException: Write error"Who threw it, the client or the server? At what line of code?
You'd be better off declaring those remote methods to also throw IOException and let it be thrown back to the client if it happens, rather than catching it silently inside the server. That way the client knows the server is failing and can made a decision about whether to continue. The client should also show the complete stack trace, not just the message.

Playback has frozen in Premiere Pro CS6.  I am running a 1080p timeline and it appeared to start when I added some after effects renders to my timeline.  The playback head still runs through the timeline and audio plays normally but the video completely stops and cannot be viewed in real time.

  • Adobe cs4 version..I am not recording in HD when sending to write on DVD

When I start a project, I make sure to set the download to 1080i and when I send to Encore to record to a DVD, it is not writing in HD. What am I doing wrong.
Thanks for you help if you have any.

As Todd states, DVD will always be SD. For HD, you need to create a BD (Blu-ray Disc) Project in Encore, and burn to BD.
Now, one can produce short HD to DVD-Video, if that is what you want, but it is not quite so direct a route.
Let us know exactly what you wish to do, and someone can step you through the process.

  • Premiere Pro crashes when sending files to media encoder

Premiere Pro CC keeps crashing when sending files to Media Encoder. This is a new problem. I cleaned the cache, typed purge into terminal, checked the sharing in the preferences library and verified/repaired disk permissions. What else can I try? Help, I have urgent deadlines this week!

I am using the most updated version of PPro CC with OS 10.8.5. It seems to have issues with certain sequences and not others.  It also may be the files themselves.  They play fine in the program viewer and I have sent them to Media Encoder before, but if I create a new sequence with the same settings and copy the files into it, the same thing happens. I have a lot of 29.97 720x480 (1.21 pixels) and 1440x1080 (PAR 1.333) footage to edit together and create dvds out of (not my idea - it's a job) and I am in the middle of trying various ways of encoding to make it as clear as possible.
Currently I am using 1440x1080i HD anamorphic sequence settings encoding into 1440x1080 p HD anamorphic with frame blending, maximum render quality, Target bit rate of 30 VBR 2 pass. Then combining those files with other sequences into a longer 1440x1080 p HD anamorphic sequence and encoding MPEG 2-DVD NTSC widescreen progressive 100% quality, VBR 2 pass and the output is much better. This has been working, and today suddenly it stopped and started crashing. Any ideas?

  • PP CS4 Crashes when sending to Media Encoder

I've used PP CS4 since it came out, have had no problems like this. I have spoke to the techs at Adobe really no help they do a bunch of stuff and the next time I use it crashes. PPro crashes when sending to Media Encoder if it gets to Media Encoder in time I can still render the file I've sent. There's only one thing I can think of that could be causing this I use an external drive and it nearly full I'm getting a 2T and coping over to there is there a possiblity that the drive that only has 3 gigs left could be causiing this?
Or do you think it's something else?

This is my solution to the crashing start Media Encoder before exporting from Premiere Pro CS4 I've had no problem since. It has something to do with the exporting the fonts or that's what come up in the crash report. I hope this is a remedy for those that experance this problem.
