When songs set to 'shuffle' audio-books no longer move onto next book.

Hi Apple community,
I like to have my songs on shuffle so that I'm not listening to everything alphabetically.
However, when I do this, my audiobooks no longer move from one file to another.
For example if I had audiobook chapters 1,2,3.
Without shuffle, they would automatically flow from one chapter to the next when a file is finished playing. (ch1 -> ch2 -> ch3)
With songs set to shuffle, chapter 1 will play and will stop playing anything after chapter 1 is finished. (ch1)
How can I leave my songs shuffled and keep the audiobooks continue playing sequentially?

10 after 1 is because of the sorting used. Change the 1 through 9 to be 01, 02, 03.
To get the audiobook files into audiobook section they must be in a specific format.

Are you simply shuffling a list containing one song? When the song plays and you see the album art, do you see "1 of 1" on top?

Downloaded 10.5 and when I put in an audio book CD in to import as soon as I started to type in the author iTunes stopped working and windows closed iTunes. Can anyone help me out here? I have to submit book information.

Error 0x80004002 - when trying to transfer an audio book from OverDrive Media Console

I am getting this error message - Error 0x80004002 - when trying to transfer an audio book from OverDrive Media Console. It was working a couple of weeks ago. It keeps telling me to downloan iTune9.0.2 (or newer) but I have the most up to date version of iTunes. Also tells me the device is not connected, but it is.

The publisher of the book seems to have restricted copying of the book on to other devices. Contact the book distributor.

My ipod songs get halfway through song and then move onto next song automat

Hello,
I'm rather frustrated. Got ipod as gift at weekend and have downloaded a couple of songs from ITunes.
They play fine on my laptop, but when I play them on my ipod, the song gets halfway through and will then automatically skip onto next song... sometimes it only gets 16 sec's into song and then moves straight on...
Have restored back to factory settings and then put the songs back onto my ipod and they're still playing up... can anyone help me???

I can't get my 6th gen nano to stop shuffling songs in a playlist. I turned off "Shake to Shuffle", to no avail. Extra annoying when the playlist is an audio-book. Can anyone advise?

Many of my playlists are audiobooks that I have borrowed from the library on CD and downloaded, not the ebook type. It is, of course, extremely annoying to have the tracks shuffled. Is this something I am doing, or a problem with my nano? I do have the latest version of iTunes.

I finally exported my music to a DVD and moved it to another computer that I just bought. When I plugged in the Nano, I tried restoring the settings again. Even though I had just restored a few days before that and updated the Nano software on the other computer, it told me new software was available for the Nano! So it went thru the restore process and I loaded the music again. Same problem with the unwanted shuffling. When I checked some of the songs, shuffle was ON. I turned it off on a couple of songs, and now it's back to normal. No shuffling. Go figure.

IPOD not playing songs in order when not set on shuffle

During play of music. My IPOD will make a noise and then change songs. There is no other problem with the unit. Does anyone have a suggestions as to what the problem could be?

I have used these two programs to get the data out of the ipod, Xplay and Floola. The former is commercial, the latter is free but xplay has a few more options.

I have I phone 5. Somehow I lost my music when trying to find an audio book I had bought on itunes. I tried syncing with my mac but didn't work. I match was switched on . How do I get my music back on my phone? Can anyone help?

I have an iPhone 5. Whilst trying unsuccessfully to find an audiobook I bought from the iTunes Store on my phone, I lost all my music . Now iTunes Match just keeps trying to load, but nothing happens. I still have my music on my ipad and my computer so I tried syncing to get it back on my phone, but that didn't work. Does anyone know what to do please?

turn match off and then sync

first open itunes on mac computer
At top left you have an apple - itunes- file edit view ect...
go under view and show side bar
go under iTunes and check for updates (11.1.3 current) - update if needed
plug in iphone (or ipad, ipod ect..)
when the device shows up in the sidebar click on the name of device not the arrow
this opens up a summary page
across top says info, apps, music, photos, ect...
click on what you want to sync ie music
check the top box that says sync music select -entire library or selected songs and pick what you want by checking
now apply or sync at bottom

I am using ALSA and Icecat. When I play any html5 audio/video it works, but the next time i click on another audio/video link I lose sound.

I am using Parabola (a fork of archlinux), Icecat 31.4 and ALSA
Icecat and firefox seem to hold onto the soundcard when I click on a new html5 audio/video link in the same tab. The next video/audio element loses sound. If I wait 10 seconds and click back to the start of the audio/video, the audio returns. I often get cpu spikes for icecat when it happens.
I have tried this with both motherboard and usb sound and I get the same problem. I have disabled extensions (addons) in Icecat, deleted profiles, reinstalled the browser and even installed firefox from the AUR and it still occurs.
I have disable gstreamer in about:config and restarted and it still occurs.
My .asoundrc is this:

All my other audio applications work. I have noticed that if I use pulseaudio it fixes it, but it should work without anyway, like it used to. I think something happened after an update, but I'm not sure.
Any help would be appreciated. I know it's not a big problem, but it's really frustrating and I've had it for ages. I even switched browsers to get away from it.

Since you are seeing issues with ogg files and moving video/audio combination I started to dig into file formats {sox http://sox.sourceforge.net/soxformat.html}
For ogg would the file format affect the "raw"?

Set to press the enter key to move to next field on form? 9 pro ext-

i have creasted a form. I want the person who is using the form to not have to tab to go to the next line. I would prefer to have the person fill the field and press enter, then the cusor should move to the next file of entry. (instead of tab) I can figure out how to do this. HELP PLEASE!

It's possible, but you have to use JavaScript. For example, create a new document-level JavaScript and add the following function to it:
function goNext(sNextField) {

You then have to call it like this from the Format (or Keystroke) event of a text field:
goNext("text2");
Where "text2" is the field name of the next field.

Audio books under "songs"

I downloaded songs and audio books , so when I go to songs it had my audio books when playing the songs it also goes and plays the audio books in the loop too...anyone know why? or how to stop it??

only audiobooks from ITMS, audible.com and AAC files with m4b extensions (applescripts for mac) show up in audiobook main menu, skip in main menu shuffle, and allow faster/slower/normal playback speed.

Can not synch one chapter of an audio book

When ever I synch my audio books to my iPhone 3G I get the following error.
"Part 08 was not copied to the iPhone because it cannot be played on this iPhone"
The file type is a MPEG layer 3 audio, just like the other 34 parts. Why won't this one copy over? Is there any way I can get a more descriptive error message explanation?

Audio Books Unorganized on iPod

In the past I've been able to have several audio books on my iPod and have them be organized by book then by chapter but today when I added a second audio book it's organized by chapter first mixing the two books. I was wondering if iTunes version 10 changed something?

When I back up my iPad 4 and leave audio books checked(I presume this has them copied to the iPad)what app will let me listen to them?

Shuffle songs from the main menu includes audio books

When I choose Shuffle Songs from the main menu - audio books seems to be included in the shuffle list. Is that how it's suppose to be?
Yes, the audio books are tagged as such and do not appear in the song list when i browse it manually.

Hello there,
Not sure if that is the way it supposed to be or just one of those little quirks that hasn't been worked out yet by Apple.
This may be the case, but you can set these tracks to "skip when shuffling" in iTunes so that the next time you hit Shuffle on your iPod, these tracks will not be played. To do this, locate the songs in iTunes, right->click on them and choose "Get Info" from the shortcut menu. From there head over to the Options tab and make sure there is a tick mark next to "Skip when shuffling." Then hit OK and sync the updated changes to your iPod.
Sort of a work around for now, but I hope it helps.
