When starting computer, multiple startups of DIAdem clog the boot up process (5 copies try to start) and error messages state "Data Finder cannot start due to an internal error (100): invalid config STORE! USIF error MSG:" I did not ask or want DIAdem to autostart but it sure wants to. WHY? Any help here?

I have been using the tool Matthias recommended and it is indeed a very useful program. It looks like I can stop it from doing the autostart. However, I did not intentionally cause DIAdem to autostart and do not know how this happened. (I must have done it since no one else messes with my laptop.)
A bit of historical info. I originally used a demo disk of ver 10.0 and then used the activation code after purchasing. I started having trouble with auto start and decided to upgrade to version 10.2 hoping ver 10.0 would be deleted and all troubles would be gone. No such luck. I now have both versions and need to remove ver 10.0. However, the control panel and 'add or remove programs' only finds one Nat Inst program (and it doesn't identify version).
Manually starting ver 10.0, generates an error message: "cannot open data store "MydataFinder"
Manually starting ver 10.2 generates an error message: ""data finder cannot start due to an internal error (100) invalid config etc."
In spite of error messages, the programs seem to generally work fine. I am in the process of using the program recommended by Matthias to eliminate startup issues. I am also considering uninstalling and re-installing but am uncertain of which version will be uninstalled since only one program is identified.
After I send this, I'm going to do a restart and see if problem with multiple restarts has been eliminated.

You can try to decrease the value of the pref network.http.max-connections from 255 to a more modest setting like 30 as used in Firefox 3 versions.

I have a macbook pro 13" 2011, When my computer boots I get code on my boot up screen and then my computer shuts off and then restarts. Its an endless loop, as my computer tries to boot up.

I have a Macbook Pro 13", that was purchased in 2010-2011. So randomly yesterday, when I boot up my computer I got to the boot screen, then code popped up on my screen. ** I have attached an image of the code below.** But after the code pops up, my computer shuts down, and tries to boot up again. This is an endless loop and doesn't get passed the boot screen. The code shows up everytime.
I personally believe this might be a software issue and not a hardware. Please feel free to shoot out any ideas or a translation of what the code is referring to.
THINGS I HAVE ALREADY DONE:
- Reset the PRAM by holding CMD+Option+P+R
- Gone into Safemode and tired to verify the Harddrive.
- Please don't comment saying, "take out the battery." , "hold the power button for.." , None of that sh#* works.

What happens if you boot holding the command S keys down?
If it stays running in single user mode
try the command
fsck -fy
You could try holding the option key on bootup, to see if presents you with a startup disk however
It looks as if you need to reistall the OS.

Shut down the notebook. Tap away at f10 as you start the notebook to enter the bios menu. Under the Advanced or Diagnostic tab you should find the facility to run tests on both the Hard Drive and Memory. Post back with the details of any error messages.
If both the above tests pass, try the following.
From the Start Menu, open All Programs, open Accessories, right click the Command Prompt and select 'Run as Administrator'. In to the prompt type the following command and hit enter.
sfc /scannow ( note that there is a space between sfc and the / )
Let the process complete, then type exit and hit enter.
Next, click the Start Menu, click Computer, left click Local Disc C once to highlight it, right click Local Disc C and select Properties. Click the Tools tab and then click the button to 'Check the Drive for Errors'. In the following window make sure both boxes are ticked and then click Start. Part of this process will require a restart to check the drive.

When I have multiple browser windows open - but in the "minimized" mode - and I want to open up one of them for viewing, ALL of the windows automatically open as well. How do I prevent this annoying function. I cannot find it anywhere in the options.

This does not appear to be a system issue, but rather a functional aspect of the browser windows. E.g., if I have 7 browser windows open to different sites... and all are Minimized, and I decide to open one to study, THEY ALL POP OPEN automatically. I am using Firefox v3.6.8 on Windows 7. This is an annoying behavior of the browser, and I am sure it can be somehow "turned off" but cannot determine how to do that. I have looked through all options. I am not a techie, but have reasonable proficiency with software apps.

This can happen if you drag a tab slightly down in the browser window while clicking.
Firefox has a feature called tear-off tabs
You can detach a tab from the current window and open it in a new window by dragging a tab in the browser window.
You can also do this via the right-click context menu of a tab: Move to New Window
You can drag that tab back to the tab bar in the original window to undo that detaching.

I tried to update my phone today, it said it was almost done updating when my computer said that something went wrong. so i clicked okay and it stopped on my computer. but my phone is now frozen to the itunes usb screen

I tried to download the new update for my phone, it was loading for about half an hour and seemed almost done. Until it said an error had an occured. So i unplugged my phone, and clicked okay. I restarted my phone but repeatedly it comes up with the itunes logo and the usb cord picture.

When syncing I'm asked to authorize. I try to authorize and it says I'm already authorized!

I'm trying to sync some of my iTunes music with my new iPhone5. I keep getting a message on my iMac that I have to authorize. When I try to authorize it says I'm already authorized. Catch 22?

There's a few different possibilities. The following documents might be worth checking through:

A common hangup for updates is corrupted file permissions.
Using Disk Utility, perform a Repair Disk Permissions on your main drive, then re-attempt the update.

When you open multiple documents, what's the rhyme and reason for the order the tabs are arranged?

Hi, a student had a question and I honestly never thought about this: when you open multiple documents in Photoshop CS4, what's the rhyme and reason behind the order they're arranged in (left to right?). Sometimes they're in one order and sometimes they're in another, and it doesn't always correspond with the filenames or the order in which they were selected.

My student says that's not exactly what she was asking. What she meant was, is the arrangement of multiple tabbed documents open within Photoshop (which one is furthest left, which one comes next to it, which one is furthest right etc) dependent on something? I was surfing the net when my computer started emitting double beeps. I shut it down with no problem but I can't find any info on double beeps that did not occur at startup (haven't tried starting it back up yet though). What happened?

Quite the trial to sign in to freaking Apple support. I apparently made an account with my primary e-mail, but damned if I can recover the password, apparently I don't know my own birthday. So I had to make a new account with another e-mail, and even when I thought it was done, no, I had to fill out more information before I could get to this screen. You won't let me ask for tech support from your message board without my mailing address? Then my completely inoccuous user name was rejected for containing banned words. Lemurs and cats are profane now, what? This is why I hate computers.
Anyway, I've got Mac OS X 4.something, can't check because it is shut down, and I already described my problem in the subject there before I got dragged back into account creation. I searched several places for answers but all I can find are discussions about double beeping at startup (even when excluding the word "startup" from search results), while my double beeping started all of a sudden when the computer was in use. The beeps were certainly less than a minute apart. What happened? What do I need to do about it? Is it safe to start the computer up again? Fortunately my files are pretty much all backed up.

I don't know if we are experiencing the same problem, but this is what I did and it seemed to work for me so far.
Before anything I had to hard restart my laptop. hold power button until off then turn back on.
In Finder click on Go, then click Go to Folder. in the dialogue box type
/var/db/crls
In that folder there are two files that you need to move to the trash
crlcache.db
ocspcache.db
You will need to type in your password to move these to the trash.
Restart your computer and then Empty the Trash. It is very important that you empty the trash afterwards. I forgot to do this the first time and I had to restart the whole process. It has been a few days and I have been without any problems.
I am not claiming this process to be my own, I found it on another discussion thread and it worked for me. I don't have a link to it because I had to use someone else's computer and had no luck trying to find it again. This is the procedure I followed, I do remember it well and I wrote down the steps because I had to do it twice and got tired of combing through all of the websites I have searched looking for a fix to my problem. Hopefully this helps, and try it at your own risk of course.
