When starting firefox i get a security alert saying could not initialise application security component
this problem started yesterday. it now happens every time i start firefox. if i close the security warning window fire fox seems to run ok.

When starting Firefox, I get a message that website is not encrypted????
Message warns that website is not encrypted and not safe. Why would this happen and what is the danger?

Use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot. -
When I start firefox, I get a Dialogue bx saying that Firefox had stopped working and Windows is checking the cause, another dialouge box says that A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify if a solution is found,the problem continues, I have Google Chrome working on my Laptop.
It is possible that your anti-virus software is corrupting the downloaded files or otherwise interfering with downloading files by Firefox.
Try to disable the real-time (live) scanning of files in your anti-virus software temporarily to see if that makes downloading work.

An alert message pops up upon opening saying could not initiate application security component, and it says to check to see if profile has no read/write restrictions. Than when it opens all of my saved passwords are gone, I use a master password and its disabled. When I try to enter in a new on e it says can't change password. My Grandson has a Toshiba laptop. When he attempts to start Firefox this message appears:
"Could not initialise the application's security component. The most likely cause is problems with files in your application's profile directory. If youcontinue to use this session you might see incorrect application behaviour accessing security features."
Firefox does start, but just shows a blank page.

That's not necessarily correct. At least in my case slides and videos for Stanford CS193P are downloading from deimos3.apple.com.
Annoyingly if I try to download "12. Persistence (November 3, 2011) - SD" from iTunes U on my iPad I get the error message:
Unable to Download Podcast
"12. Persistence (November 3, 2011) - SD" could not be downloaded at this time.
[Done] [Retry]
But if I then try from iTunes on my MacBook Pro sitting right beside it on the same network it actually starts downloading. Generally I've found downloads to be more reliable from my MacBook than on my iPad, but they're still amazingly slow (10 kilobytes per second seems the norm, regardless of whose network I'm on at the time). -
Can somebody help me figure this out? So before a road trip I rented a movie on my Ipad mini. The movie fully loaded before I left. It downloaded under wifi. Now that I'm in the car I tried to watch the movie but it isn't working. When I press play an error message pops up saying "could not load movie" can I not watch it with our wifi? What's going on? What can I do to watch the movie?
