When starting up how do you require password?

I have tried a dozen times and I cant get it to work, how do require a password at startup? I have a password on the admin account but it only asks for it when i click the "lock" or do something like that how do I require a password at login?

If you don't have access to your old email account and can't use security question authentication to reset your password, you'll have to do one of the following to turn off Find My iPhone so you can chang the iCloud account on your phone:
If you still have access to your old email address, go to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your iCloud ID. Tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email account and verify it. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You should then be able to turn off Find My iPhone with your password. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back and change your primary email address and iCloud ID back to the way it was. You will then be able to go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current ID and password to reconnect to your iCloud account.

the only way to "automate" password/user additions is to use expect - to allow you to input some meaningful password - stdin doesn't work too well as you've probably seen
Alternatively you can find the crypted value for some password and use that in a cut and paste fashion into the /etc/shadow file (as root obviously) but there are some limitations...
i.e.
echo "${newuserid}:x:${uid}:${gid}:${GCOS}:${homedir}:${usershell}" >> /etc/passwd
echo "${newuserid}:${cryptedpasswd}:0:7:90::::" >> /etc/shadow
this means that you have basically one password you're assigning to each new user, which may or may not be what you're digging after.
If you can figure out how to crypt the password (with the appropriate salt) so it fits into the /etc/shadow crypted format, you'd have your problem solved.

What I've done is set my iPad up so that it auto-locks after 15 minutes of not being used, requiring a passcode to get back in. You can set it up for more or less time. While it isn't as convenient as having a password required for the email specifically, it does help protect it a little bit.
You may know this already, but you can also set your iPad up to require that you manually retrieve your email. Again, not as good as having a password, but at least the messages don't suddenly appear.

If you are seeing the old Apple ID with regard to this Mac, then it would seem that somehow you have incorporated the ID in the setup of this new Mac.

If you began using iPhoto without having Accepted it into your Apple ID, then that would explain why you are unable to update the app. If any of the iLife apps are used without Accepting them into your Apple ID, the ability to accept them will lapse and you will not be able to update them.

Now Firefox is not asking me if I want it to remember a certain password that I have entered for a website. In the 'Options' tab, I have told Firefox that I do not want to be tracked; that I don't want it to remember the history; and not to accept third-party cookies. What is it that I have to do in 'Options' so that Firefox remembers a new password (I have changed a password recently). I would really appreciate an actual answer, rather than a link to "some answers already posted".

Are you saying that you changed your history setting here:
"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Privacy
to "Firefox will: Never remember history"?
This causes Firefox to always start up in a private browsing session. According to the help article "[[Usernames and passwords are not saved]]":
<blockquote>If you use the Firefox Private Browsing feature, no passwords will be automatically filled in for your Private Browsing window or in permanent Private Browsing mode, and no new passwords will be saved.</blockquote>
So hopefully that helps connect the dots.
If you prefer to keep using automatic private browsing, you may need to use an add-on to manage your passwords instead of Firefox's built-in password manager.
Or if you want to adjust other Firefox settings so that they are as close as possible to private browsing, we can suggest how to do that instead.

You have a few options:
Open KeyChain in the Utilities folder and scan through the password section. Locate the problemtatic entries. And either...
a) right click to delete.
b) modify accordingly by using your admin rights, tick show password, enter the admin password and amend.
