IPhone 4 upgraded from iPhone 3GS but Apps did not synch after restore...

I have had every iPhone since the very first one - call me crazy... and each time a new one has come out, all I have needed to do is take it home, restore from last back up and voila - all good. This time, no so good - I took the new iPhone 4 home, plugged it in, restored from backup, then selected to synch my iPhone. Now, admittedly, I have 21.4 GB of music, about 4800 songs (which is why I bought the 32Gb phone, again) and it takes quite a while to restore and synch the phone. When the initial synch was complete, iTunes had only copied my music, movies, pics, etc, everything EXCEPT my APPS! So I spent about an hour organizing all my apps into folders and moving them around, then I synched it and all was good 4 days ago. Last night I went to synch my phone and received several errors stating that the phone could not synch and that some files were missing, so I restored from backup, again, and resynched, again, and this time, like last, all my apps were not installed, but only some of the folders were... Am I doing something wrong or is there a trick to get this to work... or maybe some of the apps I have need to be trashed?

I need to ask, just in case, but are you certain you have enough room for the apps? It seems like you do, but you might have synced some videos or movies that prevent the apps from syncing.
You might have some corrupted Apps too. Don't synch any apps you don't need, and then try again. You're going to have to take some time to sort through it all.

Since it seems App related, I'm not sure what to offer you. I guess the only suggestion I have is for you to reboot your iPad and then try again. To reboot, hold the power and home buttons at the same time for at least 10 seconds (keep holding past the swipe to shut down bar if it appears) until the Apple Logo appears, then let go of both buttons and your iPad will restart. You won't lose any settings or data, so it's worth a shot.

Visual Voicemails Didn't Transfer When Switching from iPhone 3GS to 4

A couple months ago my boyfriend gave me his iPhone 4 instead of being stuck with my 3GS so I did a backup and then plugged in the iPhone 4 and set it up using the backup from my 3GS so everything transferred over. It was awesome because it worked so well, even transferring over my ALARMS, but today I realize that none of my saved voicemails transferred over.
Normally this isn't a huge deal but my mom passed away a few months ago and I had several voicemails saved from her that I would listen to whenever I missed her and wanted to hear her voice.
Are they gone forever? I hope not...

Perhaps your mobile carrier has this data archived somewhere with your recent calls and all that. I would try contacting AT&T for that.

Considering switching from iPhone 4S but................

My late 50ish eyes like the larger screen of the Galaxy III. However, I am seeing many complaints about software and other technical issues that are rarely (at least in my case) are a part of the iPhone world. I am looking for the experiences, good and bad, of those that have switched from the iPhone to the Galaxy III

I am 69 and have owned my SIII now since August 2012 and not had an issue with my phone or my software...this is not to say you won't YMMV. I have read about many having trouble with their phones and the software when the update came to update the ICS to Jellybean. I did not experience any problems with the Jellybean update. I am OK with Jellybean but with I could go back to ICS not possible and keep the phone stock. I moved to the SIII from MOTO Droid Razr Maxx which was a good phone and I never had problems even when they updated it to ICS. The thing with the SIII is the battery life which I am only getting about 10 - 12 hours on a charge...the Droid Razr Maxx I got 2 days sometimes better out of which was really nice. You may want to consider the Note II as it has much better battery life than the SIII. I do read about owners having issues with them as well as some of the software on them. I have never owned an iphone and NEVER will...just as I have never owned an apple computer, I have always owned a windows pc. I am starting to move away from the pc to an android tablet since I don't really need a pc anymore. A tablet will suffice for what I do now. I do use a pc at work though for Office and AutoCAD. Well i wouldn't see why your photo's, videos and music would trasnfer. As that is a android device, there is no way to have them transfer over the air to the iphone.
Contacts probably came from google. Your videos and such you would have to move them to PC then to the iphone. Same with your music.

You need a valid/working email address in order to create an account.
Create a NEW account/ID for her using these instructions. Make sure you follow the instructions. Many do not and if you do not you will not get the None option. You must use an email address that you have not used with Apple before. Make sure you specify a birthdate that results in being at least 13 years old

Use the new ID on her iPod but only for:
Settings>Messages>Send and Receive
Settings>FaceTime
Settings>GameCenter
and Settings>iCloud if you want her to have separate Contacts Calendar and some other things.
Continue to use the same/common Apple ID for Settings>iTunes and App stores so you can share purchases.
Note that if yo chaghe acounts in Settings>iTunes and App Store media will NOT be deleted from the ipod but:
- Apps are locked to the account that purchased them.
- To update apps you have to sign into the account that purchased the apps. If you have apps that need updating purchased from more than one account you have to update them one at a time until the remaining apps were purchased from one account.

Upgraded to 4 and have noticed that when switching from page to page you get an annoying blink before the next page displays. Any suggestions?

When switching from tab to tab, Firefox 4 has a tendency to blink before displaying the new tab. Just a millisecond or so but can be annoying.

If that doesn't work, try power cycling your router, printer, and your iPad/iPhone in that order. To do this, follow these steps:
Unplug the router and printer from the power and shut off the i-devices. Let them sit for about 30 seconds and then plug just the router in.
Once the router is completely back online (usually takes about 30-60 seconds) plug the printer in. Wait until it is back on its home screen.
Turn the i-devices on.
Try to print again.

I have jsut switched from iPhone 4 to iPhone 6. Previously I could use iMessage sync'ed on my iPhone and my Mac-Book. Now I doesn't work anymore. I went into settings->messages->SMS transfert from the iPhone. I saw the Mac Book being referenced but when I put the switch into green it shows a pop-up asking me to pin-in the code that should be shown in Messages from the Mac-Book but nothing is posted there.
I hope I am clear. Just trying to get back to what I used to like as very convenient.

In the meantime while I was working on the issue a window popped on my iPhone asking for my password for iCloud. So I wasn't connected to iCloud and after I connected it all went OK and iPhone 6 now coupled with iMessage on the Mac Book.
So I'm fixed and thanks again for your help.

Syncing with a new iTunes should not affect your personal data. The problem is that iTunes can only allow apps, music, movies, and tv shows on the iPhone that are already on the computer and in your iTunes library. If your non-personal media content is on the computer then you can usually sync without worry even though the error will still appear.
If in doubt, right-click on the name of your iPhone in the left menu in Itunes and select transfer purchases to back up your iTunes Store, App Store, and iBooks Store purchases before the sync. Just be aware that this does not work for media from any other sources, so they will be removed from the iPhone if they are not already on the computer.

Switched from iphone to galaxy - now not receiving texts from iphone users

Switched from iphone to galaxy for multiple reasons. Still keeping my iPad and wanted to use my iphone for music. Now I am not receiving texts, apparently imessages, from iphone users - there is no notification either way that a message was not received. So iphone users think I have received a text when I haven't. This makes me angry with Apple as there have been medical issues in our family and I have not been receiving important communication. I also have clients I have not received texts from. My understanding is I will have to delete my iphone from my apple account completely, but then will not be able to use it at all for itunes or anything else.
