When syncing, how do I delete the "other" stuff?

It would be greatly appreciated if someone could please help me with my iPod. Im syncing and when I look at the summary, in yellow it says "other." Its taking up a lot of room on my iPod and I need to know how to delete it somehow.

You don;t delete the other stuff. it will always be there - contacts/calendars/and other info required.
If it becomes larger than 700 -800 mb, then you can try restoring to se if it was a corrupt file.

When rotoscoping, how do I delete the background of a video so that when I import it into final cut, the background is transparent and not black or white?

I am new to after effects.
I'm currently working on some footage of a face talking. I have used the rotobrush to single out just the lips moving and have deleted the background. However, when I delete the background it automatically changes the background to a solid black.
The effect i'm looking for is more something of the effect of a PNG in photoshop - no background so that when it is imported into a movie, the lips with be free standing over other footage so that the oner footage will be shown behind the moving image of the lips..
I have looked at multiple tutorials and threads and found nothing that helps with my problem - if there is one, I apologise, I have just spent so long looking and thought here was the best place to come.
If anyone can give me any advice it would be very greatly appreciated - Thankyou!

First, check to make sure you actually HAVE transparency by doing one of three things: change the comp's background to something other than black, click on the button at the bottom of the comp window to view the alpha channel, or click the button on the bottom of the comp window to reveal the familiar Photoshop checkerboard background.
Next, select a codec that supports alpha channels -- in Quicktime-Land, that would be Animation, PNG or Prores 4444. For FCP, use ProRes if you can.
After that add the comp to the AE Render Queue. In the output module, select RGB+Alpha, Millions (or trillions) Of Colors +, and Straight, i.e. not premultiplied. If you absolutely MUST have audio (I personally have little use for it), check the appropriate check box.
Finally, save the project and hit the render button. DO NOT save the project again after rendering; instead, go file>Revert. That way, if you have one of those Homer Simpson "DOH!" moments where you realize you made a mistake, you simply delete the rendered file, make corrections, and you're all set to re-render.

How can I delete the "Other" on my MacBook Air HD?

I recently noticed that on my 128GB hardrive on my MacBook Air, there is only about 1.66GB left of space, and that 59.97GB is taken up by "Other". This is really frusturating seeing as I have no idea how to access these files and delete them. I think it might be local back ups from Time Machine, but I have backed up my hardrive to my external drive since i noticed the huge loss of space and I have since then turned off Time Machine but stiill the "Other" is still there. So could someone please help me in figuring out how to get rid of all this excess filler would be fantastic. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me figure this out, its highly appreciated

Local snapshots from Time Machine are in the "backups category". "Other" is considered a miscelaneous category. It is made up of everything that doesn't fit in the other, more defined categories. You don't want to delete everything in there as is contains some important things, such as the operating system, system files, etc. You can download OmniDiscSweper to find large files. Every time I erase or transfer something to make more room on my hard drive, the extra space is suddenly taken by "other". Right now "other" is taking up 30 gigs of my hard drive. I understand there is system stuff included in this, but should it be taking up 30 gigs? How do I shrink it?

Empty the Trash if you haven't already done so. If you use iPhoto, empty its internal Trash first:
iPhoto ▹ Empty Trash
Do the same in other applications, such as Aperture, that have an internal Trash feature. Then restart the computer. That will temporarily free up some space.
According to Apple documentation, you need at least 9 GB of available space on the startup volume (as shown in the Finder Info window) for normal operation—not the mythical 10%, 15%, or any other percentage. You also need enough space left over to allow for growth of the data. There is little or no performance advantage to having more available space than the minimum Apple recommends. Available storage space that you'll never use is wasted space.
When Time Machine backs up a portable Mac, some of the free space will be used to make local snapshots, which are backup copies of recently deleted files. The space occupied by local snapshots is reported as available by the Finder, and should be considered as such. In the Storage display of System Information, local snapshots are shown as Backups. The snapshots are automatically deleted when they expire or when free space falls below a certain level. You ordinarily don't need to, and should not, delete local snapshots yourself. If you followed bad advice to disable local snapshots by running a shell command, you may have ended up with a lot of data in the Other category. Ask for instructions in that case.

You can more effectively use a tool such as OmniDiskSweeper (ODS) or GrandPerspective (GP) to explore the volume and find out what's taking up the space. You can also delete files with it, but don't do that unless you're sure that you know what you're deleting and that all data is safely backed up. That means you have multiple backups, not just one. Note that ODS only works with OS X 10.8 or later. If you're running an older OS version, use GP.
Deleting files inside a photo or iTunes library will corrupt the library. Changes to such a library must be made from within the application that created it. The same goes for Mail files.
Proceed further only if the problem isn't solved by the above steps.
ODS or GP can't see the whole filesystem when you run it just by double-clicking; it only sees files that you have permission to read. To see everything, you have to run it as root.
Back up all data now.
If you have more than one user account, make sure you're logged in as an administrator. The administrator account is the one that was created automatically when you first set up the computer.
Install the app you downloaded in the Applications folder as usual. Quit it if it's running.
Triple-click anywhere in the corresponding line of text below on this page to select it, then copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C:

Ignore any other messages that appear in the Terminal window.
The application window will open, eventually showing all files in all folders, sorted by size. It may take a few minutes for the app to finish scanning.
I don't recommend that you make a habit of doing this. Don't delete anything as root. If something needs to be deleted, make sure you know what it is and how it got there, and then delete it by other, safer, means. When in doubt, leave it alone or ask for guidance.
When you're done with the app, quit it and also quit Terminal.

I have not used an e-Mail for an Apple ID, but it is showing that I did, how do I delete the other one?

As long as you both share an iTunes account you cannot delete the album. It is in your account and will show as available to download. The cloud symbol simply is showing that the album is in your iTunes account and is available for you to download. The album itself isn't on your phone though.

I get double entries to my calendar when I sync. How do I delete the extra event.

I have double entries to my calendar after a sync. How do I prevent this from hapening and how do I delete the extra events.

I installed iSync from my SL backup and all went well as it showed up in my applications and when brought up on the screen, launched, I reset the history.
When trying to sync my calendars again I first uncheck all calendars via iTunes, syncronized and then check the one I wanted and syncronized again. No difference, ended up with many multiples.
I then searched a little further using spotlight typing in just iSync and a developer file showed up that looks like it is designed to reset the history but no sure. I opened in in Komodo but don't know how to proceed from there.
Here is the file: Under Usage it seems I could run this file but not sure how to. Could you help with this or am I on the wrong track?

You can delete the empty one by dragging it to the trash ( test everything before emptying the trash)
Merging libraries requires iPhoto Library Manager - http://www.fatcatsoftware.com/iplm/ - it is the only current solution to merging libraries

Lock symbol is rotation lock : depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (mute or rotation lock), then you can lock rotation either by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad, or via the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon; press home again to exit the taskbar.
