When tap orientation lock in control center, horizontal orientation change to vertical orientation, why?

I need horizontal orientation screen lock, but I can't get it now.
I am using iphone 6 and iPhone 4s

I know the 4S only locks in vertical (portrait) orientation. I do not have a 6 to try with but my guess is that it is the same. The 6+ may lock in horizontal (landscape) orientation.

I am having the same problem with my Iphone 4. After update the phone will not control audio from the control center (Friend with Iphone 4S is having same issue). Tried to reset phone and it started working "once". Next time I tried to use the control center it didn't work again. Their needs to be some kind of a fix for this?

When trying to access the control center from the lock screen, it takes anywhere from 2 to MANY swipes to get a response. Never opens on the first try.

I'm not having the same problem, but there is a feature in the OS that attempts to discern from swipes to unlock and swipes to open control center. This is what you may be experiencing.

Check your settings. The iPads have a small switch on the right edge. It can be used as a rotation lock to keep the screen from automatically reorienting itself as you move around, but you need to have the tablet’s settings configured properly. That same switch, right above the volume buttons, can also be set to function instead as a mute button to silence certain types of audio.
If the switch is set to work as a mute button, you can change its purpose to “screen-rotation lock” by tapping the Settings icon on the home screen. On the Settings screen, tap General on the left side, and on the right side of the screen flick down to “Use Side Switch to.” Tap to select Lock Rotation or Mute to set the button’s function. Even if you set the side switch for your preferred use, you can still mute the Mini or lock the screen. Just double-click the Home button, and when the panel of apps appears along the bottom edge of the screen, flick the row from left to right with your finger. Tap the icon on the far left side of the row to either lock the iPad’s screen or mute the iPad’s alerts, notifications and sound effects. Music, podcasts and video are not muted unless you turn the volume all the way down.

I want to know why my controll center isn't transparent??

My Control Center is annoyingly slightly transparent. I wish it was just solid. How much transparency do you want?

My keypad keeps disappearing when using google -- but only in the horizontal position. In vertical, it works fine. I have powered off and on, checked that Safari Instant is on, and cleared Safari cache. Any help will be appreciated.

Okay -- it fixed itself. Without any intervention, after all else had failed, and I was willing to live evermore with vertical searches. If only everything else in my house mysteriously recovered from the broken state.
Have no idea what was/is going on with the disappearing keypad.

Can't access Control Center from Locked Screen since I updated to IOS 8

Since I updated my iPhone 5 to IOS 8 (and 8.2) when I try to open Control Center from my locked screen, the display goes black but what i tried to open (calculator, camera or timer) is running in the back and the phone does not freeze, but if I want to access either of those, I have tu punch in my password and then open the app.
This thing does not happen on my wife's iPhone 5 or my iPad Air.
Any help ?

Did you check Settings>Control Center>Access on Lock Screen and make sure it's set to ON?

No more data to read from socket when I try to open the control center

Hi everybody,
I'm using on production environment the following OWB:
Client: 10.2.0.3.33
Repository: 10.2.0.3.0
The control center worked very fine since a week ago, and now suddently when I try to login from the Design Center I get the error "No more data to read from socket"
I saw on the forum many thread relating the problem "No more data to read from socket", and my case is very close to the thread
Warehouse Builder error no more data to read from socket.
even if I'm using a different version of OWB...
Now, I found on metalink the Doc ID: 549303.1 "*Opening of The Control Center Manager Fails with: No More Data To Read From Socket*" , where there are 2 solutions:
1)This bug has been fixed in the Oracle 10.2.0.4 patchset and Oracle 11g database.
2) To workaround the issue change the value of the parameter "optimizer_mode" from ALL_ROWS into FIRST_ROWS.
In the thread above they found the solution setting the optimizer_mode=first_rows
....but I have two questions:
1) I have another envinronment (development) completely equal to the production env. (same OWB versions), where the Control Center works perfectly and the optimizer_mode=ALL_ROWS
Why in the development env., even if the optimizer_mode=ALL_ROWS, the control center works perfectly ???
2) How it's possible that suddently the control center crashed with this error ? I didn't change nothing (at the Db level and at the OWB level)
My last chance is to apply the Oracle 10.2.0.4 patchset, but I can't change the db version (actually I have 10.2.0.3.0)
I will appreciate any suggestion

Cannot stop music using control center in lock screg

Downloaded IOS 7 on iPhone 5.
With the lock screen, control center NOT working to stop the song...anyone has the same problem ?

Thanks ar1009, I had exactly the same problem on my 4s; neither the locked screen control center nor the home screen 'swipe up' panel had any control over the music or podcasts I was paying. As you said, swicth off the phone for a minute, it should work on restart.

Control Center; no audio; no AirPlay

I am comparing and contrasting two iOS devices, an iPhone 4S and an IPad 2. I get alll sound out of the iPad's speaker but only the System's sound out of the iPhone's speakers. On the iPhone I hear Siri fine. When I move the Ringer's volume sllder in Settings, the iPhone sounds. But no sound comes out of Safari, YouTube, iHeart Radio, Music, and several radio stations' proprietary apps.
I have done every task recommended online. I have cleaned the headphone jack and the dock port. I have restarted the iPhone. I turned off all applications individually and restarted.   I have moved the side switch up and down, up and down. I turned on Rotation Lock in Control Center and moved the side switch up and down and back up again. I turned off Rotation Lock and moved the side switch up and down and back up again. I turned on the Sound Check setting.
Interestingly there are differences in Control Center, both between the iPhone and the iPad and between both devices and what I see illustrated online.   Neither device displays the icons for Airplay and Airdrop in Control Center.   That is not immediately important to me, but the absence of both icons from both devices surely is significant.
In addition, Control Center in the iPhone does not display the volume slider below the playback buttons.   (In contrast Control Center in the iPad does showthe volume slider.)
There is a difference between the two devices in Settings. The Settings of the iPad has the setting that alllows me to alternate the function of the side switch between the mute function and the rotation lock.   This setting is completely absent from the Settings of the iPhone.
The iOS of the iPad is 8.3 (12F69).   The iOS of the iPhone is 8.3 (12F70). I do not know if that diffference is meaningful.
Does anyone have any further techniques beyond what I have described?
I have to suspect that the absence of the volume slider in Control Center means something.

Check the User Guide http://manuals.info.apple.com/MANUALS/1000/MA1565/en_US/iphone_user_guide.pdf. Information about AirPlay is on page 33. Sounds like you need to have an AirPlay enabled device on the same wifi network for AirPlay to show up.

MSI's own Control Center hard crashes my comp (P67A-GD65)

So I just got a P67A-GD65 B3 board, with an i5-2500K and I got it all set up and put together. The thing runs great, quiet, cool, etc. I'm currently at stock speeds and settings. However, I did NOT use the MSI CD to install drivers. Instead, I used the website so I had the latest versions of all these drivers. Anyways, I installed pretty much everything but the TPM Modules and RAID tools.
So, when I pull up the Control Center, the main screen displays fine. However, as soon as I click the Cooling tab to check temperatures, the computer locks up hard and the sound emits a strange audible buzz through the speakers. I have no clue why this is happening, and furthermore, I'm disappointed this is happening on a very stock build. I literally installed the components, installed Win7 x64, installed the drivers, then tried to check the temps. That's it.
I have successfully used SpeedFan to check my temps, so I know it's not some issue with probing the sensors. Does anyone else have this problem, or know of a solution? I think it's kind of silly that MSI's own control center for their mobo's crashes the computer.

Launching a Preview Session Outside the ATG Business Control Center

I have setup a remote preview server on ATG 10.1.1. Everything works great when viewing it inside the BCC however I’m wondering how to access the preview server outside the BCC. According to the ATG documentation, it sounds like that’s possible. The ATG docs state:
“Users can preview project asset changes outside the framework of the Business Control Center. For example, you might want employees or outside reviewers who do not have access to the Business Control Center to evaluate changes to a Web application while it undergoes development. In this case, you can enable preview on servers that do not have the Business Control Center installed, then give reviewers URLs to the launch pages on these servers. They can invoke these URLs from any browser window.
Note: Users who are not logged into the Business Control Center can invoke preview sessions only with URLs to a server where the Business Control Center is not running. In order to avoid security breaches, URLs to preview sessions on the Business Control Center server are blocked.”
This is the only information I found in the documentation that talks about viewing preview outside the BCC. Based on this limited information, there are a lot of questions I have about how this actually works.
1. Any attempt to hit any page on my remote preview server outside the BCC, I see the following exception:
“ERROR [PreviewProfileRequestProcessor] An attempt was made to preview a project without logging in as a user with access to publishing assets. If you are running a local preview instance, the preview URLs registered with the PreviewURLManager may be misconfigured. Ensure that the preview URLs are configured with the same host and domain name used to access the BCC server. This preview request URL is: http://localhost:8280/sample_catalog/index.jsp. If you are running a remote preview instance, the Preview feature does not support remote preview on servers running the BCC. Ensure that the remote preview instance is not running any of the BCC related modules. If you received this error and did not try to perform a remote preview, then you may need to disable preview in the current web application by setting the atg.preview context parameter to false in the webapps web.xml file.”
I am not running the BCC on this instance so I’m not sure why I am seeing this. Is there something configuration I'm missing here?
2. I don’t understand where these urls would come from that a reviewer would use to preview the application. There is no "remote preview url" when previewing a page from within the BCC to copy and send to a reviewer so how would a BCC user send a url to a reviewer?
3. Assuming the reviewing knew which page to hit in the remote preview server, how would that page use the assets from a project? Should the project id of the project be include as a param to the url?

Shaik, if only it was that simple :( Do you have much experience working with remote preview or are you just guessing here like I have been? In order to help clarify my post though, here is the scenario that describes the basis for my questions:
A business user is working on a project within Merchandising of the BCC
1.     The user makes a change to a category
2.     The user clicks the Preview Button on the tool bar
3.     The system displays the Preview launcher screen
4.     The user selects a pre-configured profile user and page for the preview session
5.     The user clicks the Flexed based launch button
6.     The application displays within the context of the BCC browser/tab
7.     The business user would like to send that url to a reviewer who does not have access to login to the BCC
What happens from step 6 is that a giant iframe launches from within the context of the BCC browser/tab. If you are using remote preview, it is still an iframe and still displays within the context of the BCC browser/tab, the only difference is that the BCC is proxying information to the preview instance in order to initialize the preview session to display the application in the context of the business user’s project. The url the user sees in the browser is the url for the BCC, not the remote preview server. Because the UI for Merchandising and Preview is built using Flex, there is no way to click on the Preview button to open it up in another tab or browser. The only way your suggestion would work is if there is a way to configure the Flex UI to have it open up preview in a new browser/tab which I doubt is possible.
I hope this helps better explain my post. With that said though, this brings me back to my original questions.
