When the Lightroom 4.1 installer gets to the extraction of setup64.exe, it aborts with an error.

The error is "A problem occurred while extracting some files. Check available space on your computer and the write privileges on the destination folder."
I am running as administrator and I have 700GB of disk space available. Up to that point, the files are extracted with no problem, including the setup32.exe file.

Check your temp folder. It could be full to the brim. also try anotehr location. You may also manualyl extract the 7z file using a tool like Winzip...

This can be caused by a number of issues.
Was everything working and then suddenly stopped??
Or is this a new clean setup and has never worked.
Do you have a cable modem which is not a router and the TC setup in bridge? That will cause it. The TC must be in router mode, ie dhcp and nat.
Check the IP the MBP gets including dns and gateway..
Then check the ipad/iphone.. post what IP dns and gateway (router in applespeak) they get.

I'm not sure I understand the question.
First I would update your iTunes match. iTunes match will tell you what is duplicates and then you can just delete them from the library.
Second, the course in a situation like this is to delete ONE duplicate and see what happens. Make sure you have that song backed up somewhere just incase it deletes it completely. But usually I'd delete one and then see if it deletes both or just the one you pressed.
Thirdly, update iTunes match. It usually does a good job of locating actual duplicates.

How do I change my master password when the current password is to press enter (with nothing in the password blank)?

Whenever I try and change my master password I can not manage to. I got a new hard drive and the person at the apple store told me that the password was to just press enter (with nothing in password blank), and that I would be able to change it. Everytime I try and change the master password it says, "incorrect password" under the current master password blank. It has been awhile since then and I have moved so I can not go back there and get them to figure it out. So the question is, Is there anyway to change it without wiping my entire hard drive and starting over?

Photos are there but the videos are appearing as blank icons with an error message after the upgrade to Yosemite

I bought myself a new MacBook Pro and migrated everything from a Time Capsule/Time Machine migration. My previous computer was slowly dying so I had backed it up although it was running Mavericks. I migrated everything to the new computer from a Time Machine backup - all my photos and files are there - but in iPhoto, the videos (taken with a camera as .MOV files which usually appear in iPhoto) are appearing as blank icons. When I click on them, I get the error message, "The operation couldn’t be completed. (OSStatus error -54.)" and the video doesn't play or appear. The video does, however, appear when I click on "Reveal in Finder - Original File" - so the files are there - they just aren't being compatible with my iPhoto in Yosemite.
Any idea why?

Do you still have access to the old system? If so drag the iPHtoo library on the new system to the desktop and Connect the two Macs together (network, firewire target mode, etc) or use an external hard drive formatted Mac OS extended (journaled) and drag the iPhoto library intact as a single entity from the old Mac to the pictures folder of the new Mac - launch iPhoto on the new mac and it will open the library and convert it as needed and you will be ready move forward.

I'm replicating between two servers in two sites (Server A - Server 2012 R2 STD, Server B - Server 2008 R2) over a VPN (Sonicwall Firewall). Though the initial replication seems to be
happening it is very slow (the folder in question is less than 3GB). I'm seeing these in the event viewer every few minutes:
The DFS Replication service is stopping communication with partner PPIFTC for replication group FTC due to an error. The service will retry the connection periodically.
Additional Information:
Error: 1726 (The remote procedure call failed.)

The DFS Replication service successfully established an inbound connection with partner PPIFTC for replication group FTC.

I've done a lot of research on the Internet and most of it is pointing to the same stuff I've tried. Does anyone have any other suggestions? Maybe I need to look somewhere
else on the server side or firewall side?
I tried replicating from a 2012 R2 server to another 2012 server and am getting the same events in the event log so maybe it's not a server issue.
Some other things I'm wondering:
-Could it be the speed of the NICs? Server A is a 2012 Server that has Hyper-V installed. NIC teaming was initially setup and since Hyper-V is installed the NIC is a "vEthernet
(Microsoft Network Adapter Multiplexor Driver Virtual Switch) running at a speed of 10.0Gbps whereas Server B is running a single NIC at 1.0Gbps
-Could occasional ping timeout's cause the issue? From time to time I get a timeout but it's not as often as the events I'm seeing. I'm getting 53ms pings. The folder
is only 3 GB so it shouldn't take that long to replicate but it's been days. The schedule I have set for replication is mostly all day except for our backup times which start at 11pm-5am. Throughout the rest of the time I have it set anywhere from
4Mbps to 64 Kbps. Server A is on a 5mb circuit and Server B is on a 10mb circuit.

I'm seeing the same errors, all servers are running 2008 R2 x64. Across multiple sites, VPN is steady and reliably.

Events are for all five servers (one per office, five total offices, no two in the same city, across three states).
Events are not limited to one replication group. I have quite a few replication groups, so I don't know for sure but I'm running under the reasonable assumption that none are spared.
Reminder from original post (and also, yes, same for me), the error is: Error: 1726 (The remote procedure call failed.)
Some way to figure out what code triggers an Event ID 5014, and what code therein specifies an Error 1726, would extremely helpful. Trying random command line/registry changes on live servers is exceptionally unappealing.

layer. To examine the TCP ports that the DFS Replication service is using on replication partners, run the following command in a
Command Prompt window:
NETSTAT –ANOBP TCP
This returns all open TCP connections. The connections in question are "DFSRs.exe", which the command won't let you filter for.
Instead, I used the NETSTAT command as advertised, dumping output to info.txt:
NETSTAT -ANOBP TCP >> X:\info.txt
Then I opened Excel and manually opened the .TXT for the open wizard. I chose fixed-width fields based on the first row for each result, and then added a column:
=IF(A3="Can not", "Can not obtain ownership information", IF(LEFT(A3,1) = "[", A3&B3&C3, ""))
Dragging this down through the entire file let me see that row (Row F) as the file name. Some anomalies were present but none impacted DFSrs.exe results.
Finally, you can sort/filter (I sorted because I like being able to see everything, should I choose to) to get just the results you need, with the partial rows removed from the result set, or bumped to the end.
My server had 125 connections open.
That is a staggering number of connections to review, and I feel like I'm looking for a needle in a haystack.
I'll see if I can find anything useful out, but a better solution would be most wonderful.

My iPod Touch cannot install the 2.0 software it comes up with an error (6)

Some people with this error have been able to install 2.0 from another computer or on subsequent attempts, but others (like myself) had to return the iPod for a replacement -- the device itself was at fault.

External editor getting error window when trying to load photo in iphoto yet I can drag out of iphoto to the desktop then load right into photoshop with no errors

I use Photoshop elements 9 to edit , since the last up-date when I'm in iPhoto and click edit in external editor when photoshop opens it sits there a minute and and then a error window comes up saying something about an unvalead jpeg marker can't open but I came drag the image out of iPhoto to the desktop and then open it with photoshop with no trouble ? help I'm running 10.6.7 on a 2007 mac pro iPhoto 11 Ver. 9.1.3

There's a bug in iPhoto 9.1.3 when using Photoshop as the external editor when trying to edit a tif, png or psd file. That's because iPhoto is just duplicating that file and changing the extension to jpg without acutally changing the photo's format. That's why PS says it's an unknown format.
No know solution at this time except edit only jpgs and raw files in iPhoto with Photoshop. Also send a bug report to Apple via http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphoto.html.

How can I stop someone from receiving iMessages on their old disconnected iPhone, w'hich is still active in iMessage, when the number now belongs to someone else with a non apple device!?!

To further clarify my dilemma ....
A friend of mine just got a new phone number on her LG cell phone.
When I try to text her, my messages are going to someone else's iPhone.
The iPhone has been deactivated off the VZ cell network, but they are still using it on WIFI.
They used to have this number on their iPhone, and it's still active in iMessage.
So, when I try to send a text message to my friend on her LG, from my iPhone,
they instead go to this total stranger, cuz they still have that number active in their iMessage account.
This is a serious issue!!
The only suggestion I get from apple support is to have my friend get a new number, or for me to turn off iMessage when I want to text her.
Not really the optimum solution.
Something really should be done to prevent this from happening!

I have iWork V9.0.03 and cannot get Pages to open. I need to update some things on a document and cannot get it to open or get Pages to open. I reinstalled iWork and even did the most recent update. Still have issues.
I really need Pages to get working as this is an important document.

When all else fails & trying to fix things just seems to make matters worse, it's best to start over.
I have iWork 9.0.3 on disk. I deleted Pages and the other two programs found on that disk and reloaded iWork.
I hope you mean you have a CD/DVD from a retail box to install iWork '09 from. We'll start with deleting your current install. Please, don't do this unless you have the CD/DVD to reinstall from. The files to delete are the iWork ’09 folder from the main HD > Applications; the iWork ’09 folder in HD > Library > Application Support & the individual iWork application plist files found in HD > Users > (your account) > Library > Preferences for each user. Yvan Koenig has written an AppleScript that removes the files. You can find it on his box.com account in for_iWork'09 > other_iWork'09 items > uninstall iWork '09.zip.
I'm trying to see if I can find the iWork 9.0.5 updater but It's no where to be found. I found Apple's article about it but there is no link. That's not really a problem since it's the iWork 9.0.4 updater that is needed for Snow Leopard.
