When the site upgraded to 3.6 I lost my tool bat and all the functions.

When I allowed the site up-grade to the 3.6 level Firefox, everything worked fine. I turned off my PC and came back later. When I turned on the PC and tried to get Firefox, I get the Main page, but the tool bar is missing...along with all of my bookmarks. I tried rebooting but, no help...

* Press F10 or press and hold the Alt key down to bring up the "Menu Bar" temporarily.

To confirm, al songs are already in your iTunes library of current computer, and they all play using iTunes (on the computer)?
And you are saying all the songs you purchased from the iTunes Store can be synced to the nano without any problems? But NONE of the other songs (that are NOT from the iTunes Store) can be synced to the nano, or SOME of them?

I have lost my Safari app and all the bookmarks that go with it. I have tried to download my back-up on external drive but cannot access it. Tried a start with C key held down but still no access to the back-up app.

I checked the content of my other back-up and found the bookmark Bookmarks.plist in the library under Safari
Dumped the existing copy in the computer and drag-dropped the back up. All bookmarks restored.
Solved the Stickies problem by using Spotlight to find file "stickiesdatabase" and did a drag- drop to replace file. All data restored.
Re Ical data loss. Used Spotlight to find iCal document in Library - Preferences where I found com.apple.iCal.plist in folder.
Got ready to make change but did not immediately remove file. When I returned to Preferences folder to grab above document,
the readable descriptors had been changed to code consisting of some upper case letters and/or single symbols!
So now I cannot tell which is the symbol iCal.plist

You mention that you have tried restarting, but did you try a reset?
Simultaneously hold down the Home and the On buttons until the iPad shuts downs. Ignore the Off slider should it appear. This will take ten seconds give or take. After the sut down is complete, press the Onn button to restart. NOTE: this is different from simply shutting down the iPad.

Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

For future reference, if your iPhone misbehaves, always try a Reset. It's painless and often solves the problem.
Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears (ignore the Slide to Power Off option that shows up first).

Glad to hear you were able to resolve the freezing issue on your DROID Incredible! I would be happy to see if we can restore your contacts.
I know you mentioned you didn't have an active Backup Assistant account at the time of the update, however, did you have a Google account setup on your device prior to the update? If so, check on www.gmail.com to see if your contacts are backed up in the "Contacts" section. If they are you can just readd the Google account to your device and enable the "Sync Contacts", and all of your contacts will be synced back to your device.

When I turned on my iPad this morning, it prompted me to upgrade to IOS 7.1. I did it and all went as usual until the iPad promptd to plug into iTunes. I've done that but it is now stuck in that mode. Hw do I complete the upgrade?

I plugged it to a laptop, then the message on the laptop stated "iPod is in Recovery Mode" Nothing worked to get the iPad to complete the upgrade, not even an attempt to restore iPad to factory settings - it is stuck in the "plug to iTunes" mode.
Any suggestions to either uninstall IOS 7.1, to complete the install, or to reset it? At this point, it is a $700 papeweight.

The green bars that show when a site is safe have disappeared. I relied on those and would like to have them back.

Firfox 4 freezes for 1-2 minutes when loading sites with twitter or other social media content like MSNBC and other news sites.

Firefox locks up for a minute or two when loading pages on popular news websites like MSNBC,COM. When this happens the bottom status typically ready something about a link to twitter.
I do not use twitter and it is likely the company firewall blocks it if it uses any non-typical port.
I had to download the old version of the browser due to this problem.

Has anyone gotten back to you on this? I am experiencing the same problem on two different systems since release 4.1.2_03 and now have tried _05 with no luck.

I get an update server error message when i try to update my phone. I've uninstalled iTunes and all related software in the proper order and then reinstalled with security software disabled. no what?

I could use some help. Apple support walked me through the uninstall and reinstall of all iTunes and Apple files in the proper order with my security software disabled. I still get the following message:
"The iPhone software update server could not be contacted. Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active, or try again later."
Any ideas? I'm on a Dell i5 Core with Windows 7.

Yes it would, possibly even brick it.
Have successfully connected my ipod nano with iTunes so looks like the device driver is working.
Can I use my ipod nano USB connector to check?
It is not much help to you, since the device that you need still not recognized.
Anyway looks like I may have to swallow the loss of data. Have set-up a call for tomorrow with Apple support so will wait until after this before doing the factory restore!

My Imac was calling for some software update yesterday. I tried to find Itunes app but it wasn't on the screen! I put a new one but all my song, books, podcasts are gone. : (
