I don’t know whether I can start this thread in this forum, but nevertheless I think I can get a better clarity from the experts, when I was googling to know the advantages of oracle over teradata and vice versa, I happened to see some articles, but most of them were written by peoples Who are biased with their own technology, I couldn’t get a fair idea , so it would be helpful for me if anyone could share their experience who had seen both the positives and negatives of both these database .
My questions are.
1.when to choose oracle and when to choose teradata
2.What are the major architectural differences between oracle and teradata, that makes one better than the other

Well since you have read both sides of the story you can make your own judgement based on the articles. I suppose these articles from both sides will lists the pros/cons compare to their competitor and vice versa. You can gather these pros/cons and compose your own list and make smart decision.
Not knowing much about the technology of Teradata, my comments here is again biased. As the name suggested, TeraData has some strength on DataWare house territory, on most other parts I believe Oracle has an edge. Don't forget Oracle has survived fiercy competition from Sybase and Informix and dominate the market for over a decade.

Getting foll. error - Cannot transform child 'when' in 'choose'

If someone can help me on this: When I am using foll. code in the field on the RTF template (in field properties --> Add Help Text-->Help Key (F1) window):

I am getting foll. error : "Caused by: oracle.xdo.parser.v2.XMLParseException: Cannot transform child 'when' in 'choose'.".
But if I put it directly on the page (not as a field), it works fine. I can't put it directly as I can't align it the way I want (right top) as it default comes bottom left.
Let me know if this code is fine, or what can be the IF version of it?

Hi,
I had a similar issue about a year or so ago and raised an SR. Unfortunately it's dropped off my SR list since it is fairly old but I think the reason given was that you can't have more than one 'when' statement in a single line.
If it works outside of a from field then I would put your code in a template and then call that from a form field eg:
<?template:t_choose?>
choose statements
<?end template?>
(Note this template can be put anywhere in your document)
Then in your table just use <?call:t_choose?> in your form field to reference it.

Choosing oracle for linux ! what are merits and demerits

we are going to choose oracle for linux for our e-commerce site which will serve as search engin and shopping mall.

I followed all the steps that you mentioned... Installing the Oracle client proved to be easy as pie on the Linux server, and connecting to the Oracle instance on the NT server was instantaneous with sqlplus... tnsping also finds the Oracle server without a hitch.
I also made the modifications to the coldfusion start script you mentioned, i.e. setting ORACLE_HOME, etc (which is also mentioned in Allaire's docs).
However.... (yes, here it comes) The DSN still comes up as 'failed' when I try to add a new one using the native drivers in the Coldfusion Administrator.
Do I need to do anything on the Oracle server side (NT) first in order to get things working?
I'm pretty stumped at this point as to why this won't work.

When I install Oracle 9i on RedHat Linux 7.3 ...

When I install Oracle 9i (9.2.0.1) on Red Hat Linux 7.3 ,
I got an error when invoking the target of "install" in makefile : "ins_ctx.mk" ,
all of the message is "Error in invoking target install of makefile /oracle/product/9.2.0/ctx/lib/ins_ctx.mk"
and I edit the file "$ORACLE_HOME/ctx/lib/env_ctx.mk " , add a "$(LDLIBFLAG)dl" to the "INSO_LINK" ,
but there is still an error when I press "Retry" and "Retry" ...
Will it occur any error when I use Oracle 9i on Linux (because I press "Ignore") ?
Does somebody can tell me how to solve the problem ?

I'd the same problem. You can fix the problem (fixing provided by Werner Puschitz, http://www.puschitz.com/OracleOnLinux.shtml):
"Error in invoking target install of makefile /opt/oracle/product/9.2.0/ctx/lib/ins_ctx.mk"
I saw this error only in connection with Oracle 9i R2 (9.2.0) installation.
Also, this is the only problem I experienced with Oracle 9i R2 on Red Hat 8.0 (and 7.3 -MQ). But this does not necessarily mean that you won't see other problems described here.
The following errors showed up in $ORACLE_HOME/install/make.log:
/lib/libdl.so.2: undefined reference to `_dl_addr@GLIBC_PRIVATE'
/lib/libdl.so.2: undefined reference to `_dl_open@GLIBC_PRIVATE'
/lib/libdl.so.2: undefined reference to `_dl_close@GLIBC_PRIVATE'
/lib/libdl.so.2: undefined reference to `_dl_sym@GLIBC_PRIVATE'
/lib/libdl.so.2: undefined reference to `_dl_vsym@GLIBC_PRIVATE'
It happens when the following step is executed:
/usr/bin/make -f ins_ctx.mk install ORACLE_HOME=/opt/oracle/product/9.2.0
Edit $ORACLE_HOME/ctx/lib/env_ctx.mk and go to "INSO_LINK =", add a "$(LDLIBFLAG)dl" to the line and save it.
Here is the full line with the added "$(LDLIBFLAG)dl" flag:
INSO_LINK = -L$(CTXLIB) $(LDLIBFLAG)m $(LDLIBFLAG)dl $(Long postings are being truncated to ~1 kB at this time.

Why is it that when I choose to export an individual frame, the wrong frame always gets exported?

The problem I am having has to do with the "export frame" button. When I choose to export a frame, rather than exporting the frame that I have selected, it exports a frame two frame backward from the one that appears in my canvas. I hace a comcast e-mail account and when I click a "contact us" link on a web site a pop-up asks me to choose an application but when I choose firefox nothing happens How can I make the links open my Comast e-mail?

"Contact us" links on web sites open a box that says "This link needs to be opened with an application. Send to:" My only e-mail account is through my Comcast.net account but Comcast is not an option. When I choose Firefox, which is an option, a new blank window opens but I have no idea how to generate an outgoing e-mail message. This is very frustrating because I cannot seem to find any help with this issue and i seem to be precluded from e-mailing numerous organizations because of this. I do not want to create a new gmail or other type of e-mail account if I can help it. I already have enough accounts and passwords to try and keep a handle on.

Yup, it was uploaded to our school Wiki as a PDF, and Pages did open it. I was then able to move it to iBooks, but I'd rather avoid the extra steps.

Normally that i followed all instructions from your support site, and that i tried many things, but nothing helped :( !?
my .json file isn't corrupted cause it was saved on another partition before formatting my OS.
Please don't tell me that my bookmarks are lost :( cause i had many important things in that bookmarks, on 100.s pages :( ....

Can you restore that JSON backup in a new profile?
Did you make sure that it is really a JSON backup and that there is no missing or hidden other file extension?
A JSON backup starts with: {"title":"","id":1,"dateAdded"
A HTML backup starts with: <!DOCTYPE NETSCAPE-Bookmark-file-1>
You can try if you can restore that JSON backup in a new profile.
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems
See Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile
If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile (be careful not to copy corrupted files)

Ok. So if you didn't know, there are some sites that allow you to download music for free legally. For example many industry artists release "free albums" or "mixtapes" just for their fan base. They are uploaded by the actual artists themselves and downloaded by millions of fans. However when I choose to play one on my iPhone 5c, all of them get deleted except for the iTunes purchased songs. This has never happened before and I would like to know why it is happening now, and how to fix it.

It may be that your iPhone's set to sync automatically, which can potentially remove any music that's been added to the device. It may help to set the device to 'manual mode,' so that you have complete and total control over what content is on the device.

Reboot your iPad and then see if you can set the security questions.
