When try to transfer my Overdrive audio book to my older Ipod Iget I must put Ipod in manually manage music
Need help to put my IPOD in manual manage music. When my older Ipod is connected to Itunes it does not give me the option to put in manual manage music mode. I am using a different PC that which I installed my music and audiobooks. My overdrive pgm requires I put it in manual mode to transfer and audio book I have on my PC.
No, it will sync the ipod to the content of the MBA which presumably has nothing on it (= erasing content of iPod and replacing it with nothing).

Quick answer if you let iTunes manage your music: Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive. Start iTunes with the option key held down and guide it to the new location of the library.

Transferring Overdrive audio books
Since the last iTunes upgrade, I have not been able to transfer an Overdrive audio book to my iPhone, not in MP3 or WMA format.
I have tried countless times.
I have petitioned my library for help (as users are not allowed to contact Overdrive for themselves). They have not been able to help me.
I have deleted and reinstalled iTunes numerous times. I have rebooted the computer. I have unplugged and rebooted the phone. I have closed and reopened Overdrive and the browser. I have deleted, returned, rechecked out, and redownloaded the book. I have tried numerous books in both MP3 and WMA formats. Overdrive assures me (via my librarian) that nothing is wrong with the book files on their end.
Oh, and I changed the registry -- at Overdrive's recommendation -- to give a longer timeout to WMA syncing. That did no good.
Generally I get, say, 3 out of 10 files to transfer. The remaining files are grayed out, and I get an error message on my phone, "1 item could not be synced. See iTunes for more information." ITunes, meanwhile, tells me the item could not be synced.
I am not new to Overdrive. I have downloaded hundreds of e-audio books and have done so for years. I am not doing anything different.
I have an iPhone 5. I am using Windows 7. My browser is Firefox. I have iTunes version 11.2.2.3.
Please help.After I spent hours and hours and hours struggling with this, an iTunes rep finally called Overdrive for me, and Overdrive admitted to the iTunes rep that the problem is on their end and there is nothing that either you or iTunes can do to resolve this.
What DID work for me, though, is that I went back to a previous version of iTunes, here: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1047
However, the previous version of iTunes won't run without you editing the -- I think -- the .itl file. Hailey at iTunes support did this for me, and I don't know how she did it. She is at this phone number: 877-388-0879; but I'm sorry, I don't remember her extension, which you need.
Also, iTunes does not recommend that you go back a version; and, of course, it's only a temporary fix. But it worked for me.

Some find the mobile device transfer confusing. To load or delete a WMA or MP3 book onto an Apple mobile device do the following.
1. For Windows versions, you must first do a security update of Windows Media Player (even though you won't be using it) using Internet Explorer at http://drmlicense.one.microsoft.com/indivsite .
2. Open iTunes, plug the mobile device into the computer USB port and open the Overdrive Media Console.
3. Highlight the mobile device in the left hand menu of iTunes and insure the "Manually manage music and videos" box is checked in the Summary Tab.
4. Highlight the book you want to transfer in the Overdrive Media Console and click the Transfer Button. A window opens permitting you to click the boxes for parts of the book you wish to transfer.
5. After the book has been transfered, when you click the disclosure triangle (arrow) to the left of the iPod, iPhone, or iPad in the Device section of the left hand menu of iTunes, MP3 books will show up under the Music subsection and WMA books will show up in the Books subsection. Once the mobile device is disconnected from iTunes, MP3 books will show up in the Songs list of the mobile device and WMA books will show up in the Books list.
6. To remove a book from a mobile device plug the device into the USB port and open iTunes. Click the disclosure triangle to the left of your iPod, iPhone, or iPad in the Device section of the left hand menu of iTunes so that you can see the device’s subcontents. For an MP3 book select the Music subsection, right click on the book and choose Delete. For a WMA book, select the Book subsection, right click on the book and choose Delete. -
I want to use my IPOD Classic 160gb for notepad entries in addition to the music and books I listen to. It is set to "Open ITunes when connected to computer" and "manually manage music and videos". Settings>Store (or iTunes & App Stores if you are running iOS6)>Apple ID. Tap your son's ID and sign out. Sign in with your ID and password.
You shouldn't lose the music, but if you try to update any apps that you bought with the family ID, you will have to use that password that is linked with that ID in order to update.
Avoid downloading past purchased content with the old ID if you can since you will associate the iPad with the old ID for 90 days and you will lock yourself out of your own, new ID for that period of time. Read more about associated devices in iTunes here.

I have FCE 4.0.1 and running OS x 10.7.5 when i burn my movie the audio from my movie clips don't come through . My Sound effects and music can be heard. First I export to Quicktime movie, make it self contained then open IDVD for an intro and burn it. everything sounds great in preview but then ( once again)I lose my audio from my movie clips.
Try Mixing Down the audio before export.

How to put audio book under the audio book folder int he ipod nano
I am having trouble putting my audio book under the audio book folder in the ipod nano.
Every time i ask the ipod to play all musics, its plays all including all audio book. I ' d like to have it play book only when i ask for it.
Can someone show me how to fix this?

There are two things you could do here. First, change the *Media Type* of the audiobook tracks in iTunes to "Audiobook" via the "Get Info" screen under the Options tab.
Under this same tab, you could also tick the "Skip when Shuffling" option for these tracks. When you have finished, sync the updated changes to your iPod.

Most MP3 capable devices should play OverDrive MP3 Audiobooks.
If you intend to transfer OverDrive MP3 Audiobooks to an Apple® device, note the following…
iTunes® v9.0.2 (or newer) is required.
The Apple device must be formatted for use with Microsoft® Windows®.
The iTunes setting 'Manually manage music…' must be enabled for the device before you can complete the transfer. Adjust this setting in iTunes as follows…
Connect the iPod® to your computer.
If it does not launch automatically, open iTunes v9.0.2 (or newer).
In iTunes, locate the device in the left vertical navigation panel (under heading 'DEVICES'), and click the device.
The 'Summary' screen is displayed.
Place a checkmark next to 'Manually manage music…'.
Click the 'Apply' button.
The iTunes 'Summary' screen refreshes, and the changes are saved.
If desired, close iTunes.
Note that if an Apple device is connected to your computer, you can choose to simultaneously transfer a title to the iTunes Library and the Apple device. Have you tried resetting the device (nothing will be lost): Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). Once the Home screen redisplays, see if your Music app is behaving normally.

When I try to select 'Manually manage music and videos' option?
I know to manually manage songs/videos on itunes, i need to select the 'Manually manage music and videos' box under my iPhone 5S summary tab.
However, when I check that box and click apply, this message pops up: http://prntscr.com/248mwn (this is a screenshot of the box showing)
I do not know what that means..I just got this iPhone recently and I've only backed it up to the SHARON-PC that the message is mentioning (also the only computer i use)
Can someone explain what would happen if I chose the erase and sync option, or is there a way around this?

What actually happens when you "Manually manage music and videos"?
I'm afraid to try this option on my iPod, and here's why:
I am currently traveling for three months, and before I just left, I synced up my 80GB iPod with all the music I wanted (via playlists) and all my podcasts. I will not have access to my home computer for at least three months. However, I'd like to be able to sync up podcasts whenever I am at a computer that has iTunes installed (friends houses, etc..).
Someone told me I could do this by setting my iPod to "Manually manage...", and just add the podcasts I want, manually. Sounds good, but I'm afraid to try for fear that it will actually reset my iPod which would be disastrous since I don't have access to my music library on my computer.
Can someone reassure me that this won't happen?

Cannot manually manage music and video AND sync book, etc.
Just reset an old iPad2 to give to my son. Reset the thing, then went to sync it to his MBA running Yosemite. When I check "manually manage music and video" in the summary pane of the iPad when it's connected to iTunes, it automatically deselects "sync books" and "sync tones". If I go to reselect those syncing options, it erases the music just put on the iPad2 AND it deselects the "manually manage music and video." What gives?
Yes, that's the down side of "manually manage music".
it's probably best to forget about "manually" managing music and just select the music that you want synced and use the "automatic" method. -
How do you delete songs that you purchased through iTunes but don't show up when you connect the iphone to iTunes? They don't show up in the music section when you click on "On this phone". Side Note: I have my phone setup to manually manage music. Please help.

If you want to delete a song from your iOS device on iOS 7, tap Songs, swipe the song from right to left, then tap Delete. The song is deleted from iPhone, but not from your iTunes library on your Mac or PC, or from iCloud.

Bought a new macbook and want to manually manage music onto my iphone 4s (as it is already full of music from old windows laptop) but when i click 'manually manage' and then 'apply' i get the message saying it will erase everything already on there. Need help please!
Before you sync your iPhone make sure that all the music that was synced to your phonereviously has been copied to your iTunes on the new MacBook Pro. Then when you connect your phone you will be able to either sync all music or select only those playlists that you want on the phone.

My Ipod touch is set to manually manage music. I have put music from my computer and iTunes account onto it, and music from other people's computer and iTunes accounts on it. Unfortunately I dropped my iPod and the screen cracked. It still plays music and everything just fine, but it has problems with it's battery life so I'd like to just get a completely new iPod nano. Is there any way I can transfer all the music from my iPod touch onto a new iPod nano? From what I can tell it won't let me sync any of the music on my iPod touch that is from other people's computers onto my laptop, and so I wouldn't be able to put it on a new iPod nano. Hopefully that makes sense. I'd just really really like to be able to keep all that music and not lose 2/3 of my iPod touch music library because I want to put it on a newer Ipod.
