Make sure you have iTunes 7.01 instead of 7.0

  • Software Update says not connected to internet

Today, when loading my web email into my local
mailbox, it stopped half-way through. Nothing else
will load in. The emails are still on my internet
web page mail. So, then I tried to see if there are
any software updates. The message comes back that I
am not connected to the internet. Of course, I am or
I would not be here. I sent a test email and it was
sent and received by my web mail account, but will
not, as any others, come on over to my local mailbox.
Note: I do not have to have any browser open to
receive my local email. But today, it just stopped.
    Help! Please.

    I will call them tomorrow.
    My ISP is Internet America.
I have been with them since they took over
    Cyberamp back in the 90s.
    I have DSL.
My terminology is limited. The local mail I am speaking
of is the program that came on my Mac when I
installed it. I can only access it when I am on this
particular computer. Otherwise, I call up Internet
Amer. webmail. The mail stays there, until I launch
my "local" mail here at home. This has never happened
before and today it brought about half my email over
and then just quit. Since then, nothing has come over.
I can go to the internet in every other way except when
trying to have my software updates checked. It says I
am not connected to the internet.
As I said, I will call them tomorrow and will post what
    they say.
    Thanks very much.

  • HT5957 iPad won't update says not connected to Internet

My iPad won't update. It says I am not connected to the Internet even though I am connected!

    Good to know. Thanks.
I restarted my iPad right after posting to this thread and it seems to be working. Just about done with the install now. Should be fine I think.

  • Can't update says not connected to internet

I tried to update my iPad to 7.0 but I get an error message saying:
    Unable to Verify Update
    iOS 7.0 failed verification because
you are no longer connected to the
    Inernet.
But I am connected to the internet.

I have this same issue and error message, however I am able to stream video, music, get emails, and browse the web with Safari and Chrome. I have tried:
A hard reset by holding down the power button and home button at the same time
    Resetting the network settings
    Having a charge over 50%
Being connected to a power source
Even tried to update through iTunes (v. 11.1)
Nothing has worked for this issue. The update through iTunes had my iPad stuck in recovery mode, which I had to use a third party software to fix that issue. I am not sure if I might be overlooking something or if Apple needs to release some type of fix for this issue.

  • I have a new ipad2, also an ipad1, with a gateway laptop. I have wireless router with windstream. Able to access my wireless connection on ipad1 and laptop, but can't on ipad2. Will say connected, but get message saying not connected to internet on Safari

I got an ipad 2 today. Already have an ipad 1 and gateway laptop. Have wireless internet with windstream. I have internet connection on ipad 1 and laptop, but can't connect to internet on ipad2. It says i'm connected, but when accessing Safari, it says not connected to internet. Tried unplugging router and resetting already, still not working. Thanks for the help.

    Thank you for your response.
I did try turning off the firewall, and reducing all the security levels to a minimum (under Control Panel>Internet Options). Also, I'm using a direct cable from my m/c to the Airport Extreme. But nothing helps. Due to the usage pattern in my family, using the MacBook for configuring the network is not optimal, hence my struggle to do it on my Windows desktop. But if that is the only way to go I suppose I'll have to.
Subsequent to posting my query, I discovered that Apple had not singled me out, and many others with a Win OS face this problem, too. I would have thought Apple would do a proper job of testing before putting up the Windows version of Airport Utlity on their site.
But thanks again. Much appreciate it.

  • HT4623 unable to update to 6.1.1; keeps saying not connected to internet when in fact i am

unable to update to 6.1.1; keeps saying not connected to internet when in fact i am

This is what worked for me: Double tap your home button to bring up the programs running in the back ground, press and hold so they show the red close option and close all programs.  After that shut your iphone down and power back on.  Immediately go to General>Software Update and it should work.  Good Luck

  • Safari says not connected to internet on certain sites when connection is good and IMG[] images don't show up anymore?

I recently updated to 10.6.8 from 10.5.x and have been having some issues.  First, Safari will say that my computer is not connected to the internet, but it is.  I can be on YouTube, for example, and then try to go to eBay, and it will say not connected to internet, but I can go to Google and it will be fine without doing anything.  Almost like it cannot connect to the server, but the message is that I'm not connected to the internet.  I can turn Airport off and back on and get on most pages that wouldn't open originally.  It's not site-specific.  Sometimes it's Google, Facebook, eBay, YouTube, forums, etc. and other times those same sites work just fine.
The next problem, which I feel is related is that IMG[xxx] images won't open some of the time now on forums that have Photobucket and Tinypic IMG codes inserted into threads.  It will just show the blue box with a question mark.  I think that's because my Safari can't open the image hosting websites because sometimes when I click on the blue box to open the link, it says not connected to the internet and Photobucket seems to be one of the regular problem sites.
I've tried clearing my cache, reseting Safari, and a few other suggestions on here from similar problems, but I haven't seen a post describing my same issues exactly.  I have not tried Firefox and would prefer to keep using Safari.

    Try repairing permissions.
Launch Disk Utility located in HD > Applications > Utilities
Select the startup  disk on the left then select the First Aid tab.
    Select:  Repair Disk Permissions
This can take a few minutes and better to not use your Mac while it's running.
When it's finished, quit and relaunch Safari to test.

    restart the ipad.
hold top power button for 5 seconds, slide to power off. then turn back on.

  • I  reset my ipad now its saying not connected to internet

I reset my ipad now it is saying not connecting to internet then when I click on network wont connect???

    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app
        •    Tap on Wi-Fi
        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

  • Wi fi showsonnected but safari says not connected to internet

wi fi shows connected but safari says not connected to internet.

I forgot to mention that, but I have done that as well.
An update:  my husband took the iPad to McDonald's to see if he could connect there, and got the same message (Safari could not open the page because it is not connected to the Internet).  I'm stumped!

How much free space on the startup disk?
Right or control click the MacintoshHD icon. Click Get Info. In the Get Info window you will see Capacity and Available. Make sure you have a minimum of 15% free disk space.
If you have anti virus software installed, that could be a factor.
Try troubleshooting third party plugins. Safari: Unsupported third-party add-ons may cause Safari to unexpectedly quit or have performance issues
Do you have Little Snitch installed?

  • TS1398 I have a iPad and iPhone 4s using same wi fi phone says not connected to Internet despite showing wi fi signal and has been reset

Why would iPhone say not connected to Internet when using same wifi as iPad which is fine? Wifi on phone has been reset but same problem occurs

Reboot your router by turning it off or unplugging it from power for about 15 seconds.
