When trying to backup, the bar that is loading will never come to an end.
As stated on the title, when i try to backup my iphone, it will just keep on loading, after i left it for about 2 hours, it is still loading. Can any kind soul can teach me how to solve this problem? I am changing from iphone 4 to iphone 4s so i need a backup.
Is there more than one backup to delete in the list?
Did you try to create a manual backup by right clicking on your phone in the devicelist and choosing "backup"?
A manual backup does not include the sync process. If you can back up manually, some other data is damaged.

Well, when you click on "update" and it goes partway through and then says it can't continue that does look somewhat error-like to me. :-). I did do a synch when I first plugged the iPad into my desktop, but had to upgrade iTunes and reboot before upgrading the iPad OS, so everything should be backed up. I hope! I don't know how to check on whether things like my appointments or files that I have created get saved in a synch. Selecting each of my pictures and emailing them to myself is an option, I guess.
I am new to the apple world and the thought of losing six month's worth of stuff is intimidating. If only I knew which things would get lost, I'd be able to work with it.

I'm not techinal so please bear with me. I don't have the bar that allows me to type in a website. I did have a few minutes ago. When I make the page full screen and move my cursor to the top of the page, the bar drops down and I can use it. I've tried restarting my computer, didn't work. Help!
Well I figured it out, right click the arrow that makes the screen bigger and unclick the Hide Toolbar. I knew it couldn't be that hard.

Since updating OS to Mountain Lion from leopard, I get the following error message when trying to backup with time machine on external drive. "Could not complete backup to media share. The network backup disk does not support the required AFP features." What are AFP features and how do I get Time Machine to backup to my current external backup?
This means that your NAS does not support the required encryption. Update your NAS to the latest firmware or ditch it and buy a Time Capsule (they are the most reliable when using TM).

Aperture 3.5.1 on OS X 10.9.2 hangs when trying to update the backup
Aperture 3.5.1 on OS X 10.9.2 hangs when trying to update the backup. I get the rotating beach ball cursor for hours but not get the confirmation dialog known from 3.4.2 aksing whether I really want to back up.
On old Mac Mini with OS X 10.6.8 and Aperture 3.4.2 there was no such issue.Creating a new vault and populating it always works but then turning around and updating that vault hangs? The drive is formatted OS X Extended, correct?
That is strange. Before abandoning vaults, they should and do work in 3.5.1, I'd try this
Run a library repair on the library. I always do this now as it seems to cut down and hangs when updating a vault.
Before starting the vault update open the Aperture activity window Aperture->Window->Show Activity.
Now do the update. I can't give you anything specific to look for, just try to get an idea of where the hang is happening (if it happens after the repair).
As for rsync, it should work OK but keep in mind as a lot of the data now in 3.5 is in database files any change to Aperture will result in reync seeing a lot of files has having been changed so I'm not sure now much of a savings that will be over just copying the library. To be honest I've never tried rsync on an Aperture library so this may not be an issue but something to keep in mind. BTW do you have much rsync experience? It can be a bit of a bear to setup if you're not familiar with it.
Another option is to look at one of the cloning programs Carbon Copy Cloner or SuperDuper. They have the ability to make clones and then update only the changes since the last clone operation. In reality, I believe one or both actually use rsyn as the backend but give you a much nicer way to set it up and schedule it. -
I keep getting this error when trying to backup time capsule with time machine. The backup disk image “/Volumes/Data-1/Dan’s iMac.sparsebundle” is already in use.
Make sure that no other Macs are backing up at the time.
Pull the power cable from the back of the Time Capsule
Count to ten
Plug the power cable back into the back of the Tme Capsule
Wait a few minutes, then try a backup again. -

Hi, I have Mac with Snow Leopard and was trying to purchase Lion , so I can move to I cloud, when trying to buy the app I get a message that a minimum 2gb of memory is required. I went check the hard disck info and it says available memory 20gb :-(
Apple Logo, left hand side of the menu bar, About this Mac. It should be right there. If not then More Info, Sys Info.
But it would seem you don't have 2GBs installed and more then likely both RAM slots are already filed. So you just need to buy more RAM in a pair. That could be 2 1GBs chips or if your Mac can have more then that then 2 2 GB chips or 2 4GB chips.
Get your model # and go to Crucial.com and use their memory search to find out how much your Mac can have installed and the price for it. I suggest you install as much as it can take. Cost is very low on RAM these days. -
when trying to backup and sync my ipad and iphone to itunes it does not appear in the upper right hand corner under devices for me to click on
In that same window - the one where you see your backups - click on the box at the bottom that say -Prevent iPods, iPhones and iPads form syncing automatically. Then click OK and quit iTunes.
Connect your iPad to the computer and launch iTunes. Right click on the iPad name on the left side under the devices heading and select - Restore from backup. A window will pop up from which you can select any of the backups that you have for the iPad. Select the backup that you want to restore from and then go agreed and restore the iPad. Sync with iTunes when you are done.
Remember that when you restore from a backup - you restore everything in that backup to the iPad. You cannot selectively restore content. It is all or none. -
the bar that says sending message wont go away it just keeps saying sending message yet all the messages are gone and recieved and it just stays there, ive tried restarting booting, syncing everything i cant think of
Double tap the home button to bring up the multi-tasking bar, tap & hold any icon until they all start to wiggle, tap the red minus sign & close every app listed, tap home button when finished. Then reset your phone:
Press the sleep/wake button & home button at the same time, keep pressing until you see the Apple logo, then release. -
Why won't my macbook air turn on completly just at the start up page and under the apple logo there's a bar that just loads and when its done loading the Mac just powers off this just happens over and over I'm afraid if I do any thing my pictures will be lost on the computer ???

Thanks for the question. If you have updated to Yosemite, then the Apple Logo with the status bar is the expected behavior for when the computer starts up. However, the powering off is not supposed to be happening ... so here are some steps to take if your MacBook Air won't turn on.

When trying to use the clone stamp and/or healing brush as soon as I move the cursor from the toolbar over to the image I get an exact copy of the existing layer that moves around the window with the movement of the clone stamp/healing brush. I am trying to update my iTunes to 10.5.1 so that I can upgrade my 3GS phone but am getting the following error message when trying to install the itunes: Install step failed: Run pre upgrade script for apple mobile device support. Contact software manufacturer for assistance. I am on a MacBook pro running 10.5.8 OS. Has anyone seen this before and how can I get it resolved.

After syncing and updating my iphone my iCalendar on my computer lost most of my information. Including wiping out an entire calendar group. When trying to readd the calendar group it won't let me add events to my calendar under that category. A message pops up that says: "You can't add events or to do items to a calendar group. Select an individual calendar in the calendar list, then create your events or to do items." Any help here would be greatly appreciated! I would like to either retrieve the old information or find a way to add the category back in to start over. Thanks in advance!
hi i had the same problem today when i updated my itunes to latest version. however, i have just found my songs in the 'itunes media' folder. this was accessed through 'my music' then keep clicking through until you find itunes media and all my library songs were in there and i then just added these files to my library and all were restored however, i have lost all my playlists but at least my 700 songs are back. very dissapointed with apple that they have let this happen with their latest update, the previous version was miles better than this one . hope you find them. stevo
