When trying to customize-organise the Firefox 17 does not allow the bookmarks toolbar to be placed above the tabs toolbar is there a solution other than reverting to a previous version of FF?

You can try dragging the site icon of this page on the left edge of the location (Address) bar and release it on the desktop. Please try opening it. If it still shows an error it could be a problem with the system's zone permissions. Thank you very much for your reply. Not sure, however, that we are talking about the same problem.
I am trying to perform the same function in Lr that I have been doing for many years in the past and has only been a problem in the last few days (possibly coinciding with upgrading to Yosemite, trying to find out whether that is the problem)
I am not intending to sync any files with Creative Cloud but only trying to use 'Synchronize Folder' function in Lr. Normally, I would right click on a particular folder in Lr catalogue and click on that function to check that the Lr Catalogue is perfectly matching my drives where the original photos are actually stored.
The problem that I only started to encounter is that I can see the files on the actual drives but they do not appear in my Lr Catalogue and they are completely invisible to Lr. I simply can not get Lr to recognise them and then import them to catalogue.
If for example, I export images to Ps and then save and close them, they do appear on my drive but are invisible to Lr and I can't get them imported into the catalogue. Import to folder also not producing any results as they are still invisible to Lr.
Completely baffled by it. Any idea what could be the reason?

Back up all data.
Launch the Keychain Access application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Keychain Access in the icon grid.
Select the login keychain from the list on the left side of the Keychain Access window. If your default keychain has a different name, select that.

This makes sense to me. I think the issue is your misunderstanding. If you purchased an item, your Apple ID becomes tied to that permanently. So when you try to update that app, you need the password to the ID that 'OWNS' that application.
Also, I suspect you have a different ID signed into the device, which is why you can't buy with your own. That article listed shows how to change the signed in account.

Firefox RC does not allow me to use the zoom in and zoom out function on Apple Touchpad

A couple of weeks ago, I tried out Firefox 4 Beta version, but soon I realized that Firefox 4 Beta does not support certain functions of the multi-touch pad, of the Apple Macbook I bought in 2010. The two finger scroll works. The three finger swipe to go forward or back in the web browser also works. But what does not work, is the two finger zoom in and zoom out function.

Yesterday I tried ordering from walmart.com and selected and edited my order with ease. When I clicked on "Check out now and Place Order" I was re=cycled back to the same order page and could not finish my order. I then tried with Safari and completed my order with no problems. This has happened on other websites occasionally, and I need to know if it is something in Firefox or my Add-ons that I need to adjust to keep this from happening. Firefox does not show start menu icon 's submenu containing links to new tab,new window and new private window.Same happens with taskbar pinned shortcut. It does not show the above three options when I right click on it. I have installed Firefox stable,beta,aurora and nightly at the same time.All the four use different profiles.I have this setup since Firefox 12.There was no problem before v21.I tried reinstalling all the four.Resetting the stable version profile.The options do appear in othe ruser accounts.I want this option for stable version only.I think these are not available for testing versions.I tried all the suggestions in this thread:

Firefox 4 does not allow Pdf Download file to save

File download dialogue box opens and request where to save . When the save button is clicked the box closes and file does not save

Firefox 4 does not allow me to organize book marks and does not automatically fill web sites I start to type.

Since upgrading to Firefox 4 I no longer have the option to organize bookmarks. Also when I start to type a website and I click on the suggestions that appear as I start to type... they do not appear in the space where I have started to type. This did not happen with my previous verion of Firefox. Everything worked perfectly.

Thank you Tony E... it did solve my book mark problem... but do you know why Foxfire 4 does not fill in websites they suggests to the area where I start to type in a search.
For instance I might start to type in Firefox to indicate that I want to go to the Firefox web site. But before I start to finish typing Fir... a box pop up with the suggestion Firefox. If I click on this suggestion it should fill the area I am typing and take me to the Firefox web site.
Unfortunately it does not do this now... they way it used to do before... in the older version of Firefox.

Windows updates this morning gave me a different firefox: the Customize box includes fewer choices. No Text and Icon, which I want. Also, this new version dropped my Autofill.

It wasn't Windows update that caused this, but Firefox automatic updates. It's the new Firefox 29 Australis, their attempt to look more like Chrome. They dramatically changed the UI, removing several features in the process. If the way it looks bothers you as much as it does others you can install Firefox 28 again by going here;

That of course does come with the risk of security exploits they fixed with 29, so beware of that. I also don't know if it will repair your auto fill or anything.
