When trying to install an application I get "Authenticating Installer"...

And, then it stops. Nothing happens and the program does not install. Any suggestions?

My Mountain Lion install failed for the following reason:
OS X can't be installed on the disk Macintosh HD, because a recovery system can't be created.
The message went on:
Visit www.apple.com/support/no-recovery to learn more.
The page is about a different failure, but I'm assuming the reason for my failure is this one:
The disk has a non-standard Boot Camp partition setup, in which further partitioning was performed after running Boot Camp Assistant, or the configuration that Boot Camp Assistant created was manually modified.
The cure involves erasing the entire HD and starting from scratch, which in my case would involve backing up both the Mac and Windows sides, setting up Boot Camp again, reinstalling Windows XP and recovering everything from backups on both sides. I would rather not have Mountain Lion than go through all that, and I think it's unfair for Apple to expect me to.
Because I don't recall doing anything off-piste when I set up Boot Camp in the first place (for a start, I'm not clever enough), I consider this episode an inadequacy in the Mountain Lion installer. As I won't be using the download, is it possible to get my money back?

  • When trying to install an Adobe extention, during the installation process I get a message that says "This extention cannot cannot be installed-----requires version 13.0 or greater."  I am installing from within CC

When trying to install an Adobe extention, during the installation process I get this message-----"This extention cannot be installed----requires version 13.0 or greater."  I am installing through Photoshop CC------appreciate any help.

Hi Gary.  Extensions have to be written for the specific Photoshop versions they are designed to run on.and definitely don't all run on every version of Photoshop.  You'd think that you'd be OK with that message, but it might be that it works fine on CS6 (13) but not on CC (14).
But it could be an error.
What is the extension you are trying to install?  Is Photoshop, and Extension Manager fully up to date?  If you are sure that the extension runs on CC, I'd try un installing, and reinstalling the Extension Manager.  I have had to exactly that a while back.

  • HT3910 I get an unknown error when trying to install the applications disc contents

I rebooted the MacBook pro that my dad just gave me and erased all the memory that he had on it but when I try to install the applications disk again it tells me unknown error and to contact the manufacturer I don't know who that is exactly(is it a specific part of apple?) and I don't know how to contact them what do I do?

Have you tried to download anything else?

  • I get an error message when trying to install the applications dvd after restoring my MBPro to factory; What can I do?

It goes through all the steps but on the last one for installation, I get an error message saying it failed to install, try again (roughly).

This issue can be caused by an extension or plugin that isn't working properly.
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
    * Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
    See:
    * [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]]
    * [[Troubleshooting plugins]]
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
    * Use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
    * Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

  • Could not open key when trying to install Apple Application Support

I  can't get the apple application support to install on my coomputer it says "Could not open key: Unkown\coponents\da4bc898f25f5bd0af18c3b3b1a1ee8\0dc8c851b56a0d742add098a4295f0 8a. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel."  Can anyone help with this.  Thanks

under regedit, checked permissions on this key and "allow" "full control" are checked for the administrative profile that is logged in, so there should be access to that key.
Just doublechecking an exotic possibility. Does your SYSTEM account have full control of the key, too? (Peculiar things can happen when that loses permissions on a key.)

I have recently attempted to install free apps.  Every time I try I get a message requesting verification for credit purchases, and a need to update my info.  Why would this even come up for a free app?  If this was a Windows phone I would immediately think I had been hacked!

  • TS1394 im getting an error message when trying to install the snow leopard application cd 2. need  help.

im getting an error message when trying to install the application cd on my Imac os x 10.6.4   what can I do to solve this problem?

Could be many things, we should start with this...
    "Try Disk Utility
    1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at the top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.
    3. Click the First Aid tab.
    4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
    5. Click Repair. Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106214
Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)

  • I GET A CORPUT MESSAGE ERROR WHEN TRYING TO INSTALL

When trying to install firefox 4, I get an errror message that I have a corput file. What can I do to install your product?

    Welcome to the forum, Ted,
Here's an older "Shared Technologies" thread: http://forums.adobe.com/message/3155897#3155897
But, I am not sure that we were ever able to help the OP, and they never reported back with the responses from Adobe. Still, might be a tip that is useful.
    Good luck,
    Hunt
[Edit] I mis-spoke. The OP and another user with the same error WERE helped. What I saw initially was yet another poster, who was going to contact Adobe, but never came back to the thread. In the case of the OP and another users, the issue was caused by having Adobe Bridge, included with other Adobe programs, like Photoshop and Premiere Pro, running. When they killed that, the installation went well.

  • Error message when trying to install 10.8.2

Just bought the new MacBook Pro, and cannot install iPhoto until OS X is updated to 10.8.2.  When trying to install the update, I get this message:  "OS X Update can't be installed on this disk. This volume does not meet requirements for this update".  Please help.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
You are trying to update to OS X 10.8.2 using the conventional update package for other Macs.
You have a Mid 2012 MacBook Pro, and it needs a special 10.8.2 version. To install it, open  > Software Update and install all the available updates
