When trying to install itunes 10.5 says error in installation
When I try to install the newest Itunes version it goes through the process and once gets to the end of the installation everytime tells me there has been an error in installation. I have checked and my other systems seem to be upgraded enough in order for it not to be problem to install the Itunes 10.5, so not sure what to try next to fix this. HELP!

I am trying to install iTunes on my Windows 7 laptop and get this error:

Arghhhhh!! I've tried different browsers and various other things suggested on other posts to no availOk people, I think I have found the solution !
If you click on the start button from your desktop screen.
Then in the "search programs and files" field type : apple software update - you can find the apple installer.
Click on the apple software update line and let the machine run it's course. I recommend updating whatever it wants to , ie: safari 5, quicktime, itunes....
I then restarted my computer and it seems to be working now !

My computer would not let me update my version of itunes so I was advised to uninstall and start fresh. I still get the same error..."a program needed to complete the installation cannot run". Can any one tell me what program they are referring to or if anyone has a fix for this?

Access denied when trying to install itunes on windows 7
when trying to install itunes I get a message access denied. using win 7 i have read that a certain windows update can cause this. can anyone provide any information on how to fix this? I've tried to remove this, but in control panel-update history, it say it was installed 08/22. when i look at the list to uninstall it, i don't see it.
KB2918614Go to Control Panel > Programs and Features > View installed updates then search the list for Security Update for Microsoft Windows (KB2918614). You may need to adjust the column widths to read the full titles. Uninstall it if you have it, then reboot and try installing iTunes again.

thanksSorry to say I am glad this is not just me. That is why I am here also. This just started the other day. I will post a fix if I find if off the board and hope you will do the same. Talk about chasing your tail. I can not delete the program no matter what I try. I was warned by a fella at the apple store that if you do get itunes up and running do not sync the ipod to the program like you normally do. You will lose everything. There is a faeture that will help you up load to itunes from you ipod. Be carefull.
