Here's the message I get every time: "The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running. I had the previous version of ITunes on my system and it was working fine, except that is was having an issue with my DVD burner. It was a real bear to remove from my computer in order to upgrade. Now I can't get any version of ITunes to install. :-(
I am running an AMD Phenom IIX4 965 Processor, 64-bit Operating System. The original computer OS was Windows XP Professional 32-bit. I upgraded to Windows 7 Professional 64-bit over a year ago and didn't have any trouble with it until this last attempted update. Help!I have the exact same problem as well. I've been having this since I tried installing the 3.0 drivers for Bootcamp drivers. The 2.2 drivers worked perfect, and I wasn't getting this error. I'm pretty sure It's something in the drivers as well, but nailing it would be very hard. It also doesn't appear to happen to everyone with similar spec'd Macs either. It's weird. Any solution to this would be really helpful. Thanks.

Which particular .msi file does the message go on to say cannot be found? (Several different .msi files might be mentioned in this context: itunes.msi, bonjour.msi, AppleSoftwareUpdate.msi, etc.)

My computer would not let me update my version of itunes so I was advised to uninstall and start fresh. I still get the same error..."a program needed to complete the installation cannot run". Can any one tell me what program they are referring to or if anyone has a fix for this?

Access denied when trying to install itunes on windows 7
when trying to install itunes I get a message access denied. using win 7 i have read that a certain windows update can cause this. can anyone provide any information on how to fix this? I've tried to remove this, but in control panel-update history, it say it was installed 08/22. when i look at the list to uninstall it, i don't see it.
KB2918614Go to Control Panel > Programs and Features > View installed updates then search the list for Security Update for Microsoft Windows (KB2918614). You may need to adjust the column widths to read the full titles. Uninstall it if you have it, then reboot and try installing iTunes again.

I am using windows 7 on my laptop and when trying to install iTunes i recieve the following error message

Apple Application Support is required to run iTunesHelper.Please uninstall iTunes, then install iTunes again.

Natalie.I just tried running the Lenovo Hard Drive Quick Test both in normal mode and in safe mode. Both times it indicated a failed read test on the HDD. The last two tests also failed. I forget what those tests were called.
I am really beginning to think I have a bad HDD and the problem just happens to be in the reserved partition where my factory system software resides. -

If you have not been able to install iTunes because the Windows Installer service is not available, I would recommend the troubleshooting in the following troubleshooting to help.
Issues installing iTunes for Windows
These in particular:
Make sure you have an administrator account.
To install iTunes, you'll need to log in to your computer with an administrator password. If you're not sure if you have an administrator account, read Windows 7: How do I log on as an administrator? You could also refer to your computer's help system, contact your IT department, or visit support.microsoft.com for assistance.
Install the latest Microsoft Windows updates.
To download the latest updates, visit the Microsoft Windows Update website. iTunes for Windows requires Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8 with the latest Service Pack installed. If you can’t install the updates, refer to your computer's help system, contact your IT department, or visit support.microsoft.com for assistance.
Download the latest version of iTunes.
The latest version of iTunes can be downloaded at http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/.
Disable conflicting software.
Some Windows background processes can cause issues for other programs and processes. These conflicts can prevent applications, such as iTunes, from installing. Disable conflicting processes by starting your computer using MSConfig:

Please help with this problem. When trying to install itunes on my HP520 PC, I get the error message (unable to remove the older version of Bonjour as well as the message unable to remove the older version of Apple software update).
(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):

(2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get aCode 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
(3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
(4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Apple Software Updateentries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Next, select any Bonjour entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
(5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install using an iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) downloaded from the Apple Website:
