I have an IMac 10.5.8 and I am having problems with Java. I have tried todownload Java for Mac OS X 10.5 Update 4 and it looks as if it is doingsuccessfully, but I cannot see where it has put it and get this message when trying to launch Java preferences:

Hmm, only way I know would be a relatively painless Archive & Install, which gives you a new/old OS, but can preserve all your files, pics, music, settings, etc., as long as you have plenty of free disk space and no Disk corruption, and is relatively quick & painless...

I ran into this same problem after Firefox auto-updated to v24! I'm on the Beta Channel and I had Firefox set to automatically update.
What I did to correct the problem:
1. Turned off all automatic updating.
Options> Advanced> Update [tab]
Firefox updates
[x] Check for updates, but let me choose whether to install them
[ ] (unchecked) Use a background service to install updates
I also unchecked;
[ ] Search Engines (I will turn this back on after I'm done with my experiment.)
2. Googled 'Firefox v23 download', downloaded and installed: Firefox_Setup_23.0b1.exe (version 23, Beta 1)
Since I reverted back to v23, I haven't had any problems.

I have an article for you that can help you find some other ways to import those pictures from your iPhone onto your computer. You should try a couple of different programs that would import the photos into your computer. I've had the same issue with my wife's iPhone, the first night it worked great then nothing. My iPhone 4s has had no issues. I disabled Siri and shut the iPhone off, waited a minute or so and turned it back on. Re-enable Siri, her info populated automatically. Siri has been working for the last 30 minutes with no problems ?? Server problems, too many things open at once, having the phone loaded to the hilt with no free space? It could be any number of things, or many thing working together to silence Siri.....good luck all, I hope this helps.

After upgrading to Firefox 4, my bookmarks are gone. When trying to restore a backup, I get this message "unable to process the backup file". How do I get my bookmarks back?

I can still see the JSON files on my PC, but I can't figure out why FF4 is not showing my bookmarks.

I think I just resolved my issue. I exited Firefox, then deleted the places.sqlite file then restarted Firefox 4. My bookmarks immediately appeared.

Mobile me has been discontinued for over a year. What system and iPhoto versions are you running?
How are you trying to sync? With Photo Stream or thru iTunes?
Do you have an iCloud preference pane in your System preferences?
Do you meet the minimum requirements for iCloud and Photo Stream?

Protocol error usually indicates that the very leftmost part of the URL is not recognized.
So http://, ftp://, rtsp://, usually work.
ableton:// would need to be added by some software somewhere...

The problem could be that you don't have enough storage on the device itself, not on iCloud. Go to Settings>General>Usage to see how much "Storage" you have available on the device. Farther down the list is the available storage on iCloud.
Also check:
Go to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backups>Manage Storage; there, tap the device you need info on and the resulting screen lists Backup Options with which apps store data on iCloud as well. Tap Show All Apps to get the complete list of apps and MB used for backup storage.
A device needs many MB of storage in order to perform a backup to iCloud.

I received the same error message after I had recently updated iTunes to 10.5.1 and I had wirelessly updated 13 apps. I had to go into iTunes and select Apps, on the bottom right it said I needed to update 13 apps. I updated the apps via iTunes and then synced again without an issue.

Indeed you do, limit of three accounts exists for every device. You can use old icloud accounts or create account on new device and then sign in on that phone. That limit is only for creating and not for use.

I think I found out how to solve this - I turned off iCloud documents and data, and now I can save and don't get the "can't open untitled.page" and am now able to properly save!
