When trying to rip a CD to iTunes, I get a popup that states "disc cannot be found." Yet, I can play the disc on iTunes. What can I do?
I am copying a large number of CDs to iTunes, and bought an external hard drive so that I can access it all. Why can I play this CD on iTunes, but the computer can't recognize the disc so I can put it on iTunes?

We do have a place in the UK which we could use as an address, but for various reasons it gets a bit complex even though we still have a UK bank account. We moved to France when there were no iDevices and apps around, just bought the occasional music, so it wasn't a problem. Funny thing is I can't even download the free UK bank app because it's not available in the French store .
I'll live with the problem for now as we plan to move back to the UK in a year or so - we miss the weather . -

When you uninstall, the items you uninstall and the order in which you do so are particularly important:
Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order and then restart your computer:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support
Bonjour
Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
Important: Uninstalling these components in a different order, or only uninstalling some of these components may have unintended affects.
Let us know if following that article and uninstalling those components in that order helped the situation.

I have purchased an Ambient Content movie. It successfully downloaded to my Itunes library. It did a sync with my Apple TV. whn I try to play the movie, I get a message that states, Your Apple TV is not aurthorized to play this content. My questions are why is the Apple TV not aurthorized to play the content, and what do I have to do to aurthorize it.

When trying to install io5 on my iphone4 I get an error message during the updtae that there is a problem with backup and if I continue with the update, all the data will be deleted from my phone. when trying to download ipod reset utility for windows i get a message that the installer is intended for 32-bit version of windows. what can i do?
I assume you have tried everything here?
iPod: Cannot restore or update in iTunes with error 1415, 1417, 1418, 1428, 1429, 1430, 1436, or 1439
It doesn't mention 1442, but the same troubleshooting applies.
It wouldn't hurt to also try another available USB port on your machine and another sync cable if possible.
Lastly, try restoring the iPod on another PC or Mac running iTunes.
If you know of somebody with a PC running Windows XP still, ask them if you can download the reset utility and use it to reset the Shuffle.

I'm having a similar problem...but mine results from an OS upgrade from 10.6.4 to 10.8.5.
Where did you access a clean copy of Java SE 6? The link at adobe for archicval plug-ins is a dead download (and it doesn't appear to contain Java SE 6.).

I've retrieved a download application in zip file format. During download, a message appears that states decompression failed. When I try to open the file, I get a message that the operation is not permitted. How do I correct this situation?
Make sure the place you are downloading the zip file isn't using a password protected zip file.
What operating system are you using?
Have you installed any decompresison software, or are you using the system built-in software?
Where are you downloading the application from?
Is your data backed up?
Are you using any firewall software or system optimization software, or any browser addon software? -

Ive moved my iphoto library to an external drive and it seems to be working fine launches from the external drive etc,
I then updated iphoto to iphoto 11 and then attempted to update to the current version either 9.3 or 9.4 i dont recall - whatever the updated version is.
I get a message that tells me that it cannot update because "file is not in original location"
Im not sure which file or which location is being referred to here.
im sure ive done something but cant seem to recall what that might have been...
im a little puzzled though since it still launches etc.

Can you play those tracks, the tracks that you’re unable to sync to the iPod, in iTunes? Make sure that you’ve authorized the computer to play purchases from each Apple ID that you've used with the iTunes Store, as shown in the article linked below.

Authorize using the correct account name
The items you're trying to play might have been purchased using a different iTunes Store account. To determine which account was used to purchase an item, follow these steps:
Select a purchased song in your library and choose File > Get Info.
Click the Summary tab. Note the Account Name that appears in the list. This is the account name (Apple ID) you'll need to use when authorizing your computer to play this purchase.
Note: The account name that appears is the one you used when purchasing the item and does not change if the account name (Apple ID) changes.
If you've authorized the Apple ID that is shown in the Summary tab, you can check the purchase history for that Apple ID from Store > View My Account. If your purchase history does not reflect the purchase of the items in your iTunes library, consider any other Apple ID you may have created, and authorize the computer for your additional Apple ID.
If you forgot the password to one of your accounts, you can recover it using Apple's password-recovery website.

Denge75 it sounds like there is an improper entry within your registry for Photoshop Lightroom. I would recommend uninstalling Lightroom 5.3. Once removed then please also use the Microsoft Fixit utility at Fix problems that programs cannot be installed or uninstalled to remove any renaming entries for Photoshop Lightroom.
You should then be able to download and install Lightroom 5.5 directly from Adobe - Lightroom : For Windows. -

Are you trying to update your iPhone using iTunes on your computer? If so, did you make purchases through the iTunes Store or App Store on your iPhone, and fail to sync them with your computer? That is the likely meaning of what you are seeing. If this is true, the purchases would be added to iTunes in your computer before the upgrade proceeds.

As soon as we start using the Netscape Plugin with our clustered environment, we start seeing the 'Page cannot be displayed' error quite often. Does anyone have any idea if there's any tuning that we can do to alleviate this? This is even happening i
