My ipod (4th generation;2GB)shuffle has also stopped working. It gets detected on windows explorer shows the content but not playing anything.
Pl help.
many thanks. (Haven't seen one of these in a while, and now suddenly there's two in one day.)
I think some other application (apart from QuickTime itself) has stashed old QuickTime componentry on the PC in an unorthodox location. (Codec packs and video converters are the usual suspects with that, although some games might do the same.)
So we'll go looking for the older QuickTime componentry in the most common locations for it to be stashed.
First we'll need to change some view settings.
In your Start menu, open Computer.
In your Organise menu, select Folder Options.
In the View tab, make sure that "Show hidden files and folders" is selected, and Hide extensions for known file types is unchecked.
Click OK.
Now in Computer, open your C:\ drive (or whichever drive you have your operating system installed on).
Open the "Windows" folder.
*If you have a 32-bit version of Windows,* open the "System32" folder.
*If you have a 64-bit version of Windows,* open the "SysWOW64" folder.
What files and folders can you see in there with QuickTime in the title? (In a standard installation of Quicktime you should be seeing precisely two files ... QuickTime.qts and QuickTimeVR.qtx ... and no QuickTime folders whatsoever.)

I cannot back up - get message that "organizer has stopped working-a problem caused the program to stop working". Is there anyone I can talk to at Adobe???
If it is a Windows System then the error could be temporary. To resolve this, reboot the machine and try again or login as Administrator and try to backup using that account.

Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.

HT201077 my pc gives message that photostream has stopped working it wont upload photos
pc gives message that photostream has stopped working. I have checked settings and read through online support, can't find why.
I was having the same problem. Earlier in the week, I was able to drag a few photos to the upload folder and they synced correctly. Yesteday, I dragged different photos, and I got the "applephotostream.exe has stopped working" error.
The solution - for me, at least! - was to reduce the size of the pictures being uploaded to the photostream. While all of the pictures were jpegs, the first set were ca. 800K (3800 x 2500), and the second set were ca. 2.5 MB (4000 x 2000). When I reduced the resolution of the last set by a factor of 4 (ca. 600 K, 2000 x 1500), they uploaded without a hitch.
Based on this admittedly sketchy experiment, it looks like Apple has a max picture size limit, apparently based on file size rather than picture resolution). Perhaps < 1 MB? To be rigorous, I should complete the experiment - leave the resolution of the second set of pictures alone and reduce file size by reducing jpeg quality.
Has anyone heard about a picture file size limit? -
My last two emails received this week have attachments which will not open, previously was fine. Get message "Adobe Reader has stopped working. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available" But I never hear any more. What is wrong?? Thank you

The download and install processes seemed to work OK
The first Firefox window opened suggesting I update Adobe Flash Player. Clicking on download (with AV s/w either on or off made no diference) produced the Windows message that Firefox had stopped working.
By-passing the Adobe download suggestion and attempting to open up my home page (Google) produced the same result.
In fact any attempt to do anything, i.e. hitting the Enter key or left-clicking the mouse, produced the same result. Firefox freezes and WIndows then closes it.Try to update Windows Vista Service Pack 2 using Windows Update, then select all high-priority or important updates, install them and restart the computer. Run Firefox. If it works fine then OK or if it crashes then there was no problem with the operating system.
The second method is restart your PC, after the manufacturer logo appears and before "Microsoft Corporation(C)" progress bar appears press F8 key. you will be presented with a menu with options-
Safe Mode
Safe Mode with Networking
Safe Mode with Command Prompt
etc. select "Safe Mode with Networking , and then login to your user account. Run Firefox again. If it works normally, then that probably means that your PC was infected prior to installing Firefox. Update your existing antivirus and run a full scan or acquire free Antivirus like Avast Free Antivirus etc.
If it still crashes, then try re-installing NOT Repairing Firefox AFTER INSTALLING AN UPDATED ANTIVIRUS .
OK the last way, better uninstall Firefox 3.6 and install Firefox 4 Beta 7. Firefox 4 Beta 7 runs 3 times faster than Firefox 3.6, with an overall improved interface. -
When going to print i get the lightroom 64bit has stopped working

Hello, philos188.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
Here are a couple troubleshooting articles that I would recommend going through.

Upgrade to FF 8 (from 3.6) appeared to go smoothly, as did reboot, on Acer desktop running Windows 7 Home Premium. But I get "reboot required to complete FF installation" every time I try to start FF. Tried to uninstall FF using Control Panel uninstall and also using the uninstall in my Mozilla folder--get same "reboot required" message. Tried to reinstall FF--same message. In short, FF totally inoperable--and I'm starting to like Google Chrome.
Please see:
http://kb.mozillazine.org/Software_Update (Software Update not working properly)
Delete the files in:
C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Mozilla Firefox\updates (%LOCALAPPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Mozilla Firefox)
(The above is for a windows installation - a Mac installation stores its files in /Applications/Firefox.app <br />
To open one of these folders in OSX, Ctrl-click it and select Show Package Contents. )
Download a fresh copy of Firefox for installation.
Uninstall your current Firefox version before installing but don't remove your profile data when you uninstall Firefox (do not select to remove personal data) or you will lose your bookmarks and other data in the profile folder. Remove the program folder for Firefox as well.
Do a clean reinstall as an administrator. See:
http://kb.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic_-_Firefox#Clean_reinstall
For information on your profile folder, see Managing profiles and:

Tried uninstalling program, but having problems with security access. Tried to download reader again, but states that Application is already installed or Fatal Error During Installation. Please Help!
That happens when using the download from my enterprise link?
If so, try if the MSI installer works better: http://ardownload.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/11.x/11.0.00/en_US/AdbeRdr11000_en_US.msi (English version 11.0.0). -
Everything was working fine and when I switched from email back to Firefox the problem started. Nothing new had been added before it experienced this problem. I also have IE on the computer, so I can get to this site.
You need "sysinternal's process explorer", it is free and can replace the Microsoft process explorer, that you get by "CTRL+ALT+DELETE". Either program will allow you to kill the instances of FF that didn't die as they should have, when you closed them. Sysinternal is easier to use, it is a graphic display with many options. Do not push "CTRL+ALT+DELETE" twice unless you want to reboot, that is its default behaviour under Microsoft.

Can anyone suggest how I might overcome this please.
Hi,
The D810 requires Camera Raw 8.6 or later - the latest version that is compatible with Photoshop Elements 12 is Camera Raw 8.5 as far as I can see.
You need to either buy a new version of Photoshop Elements or use the free Adobe DNG converter.
DNG Converter 8.8

Sorry I don't have the exact error message (from Microsoft), but it pops up fairly often. I just now searched and found that it's something from Verizon. But I have no idea what it does or if I need it at all.
I'm thinking maybe I should just remove it from my computer, but for all I know that will cause other problems.
(Windows Vista, IE 9)
PS - I did search forums before posting, but found nothing newer than 2010, so thought maybe should get more current information

CRobGauth - thank you for your reply (and yes, as I said in my initial post, I did search before posting, just didn't recognize the above thread about VDA causing wakeup as related to my issue). I was reluctant to change anything on my computer until after doing income taxes (just in case!) but now have done the uninstall. -
