When trying to update Adobe Flash Player, message says no ActionList found.

When I try to view videos on CNN home page, it tels me that the video is optimized for flash player 10, and when I click on the appropriate buttons to download that, it tells me "ActionList not found".

The Problem is: '''Actionlist not found'''

Save the Flash installer to the desktop and close Firefox via File > Exit Firefox.<br />
Start the Flash installer via a double-click on the Flash installer icon on the desktop.

    Hello,
    Welcome to Adobe Forums.
Do you have a MAC or Windows ?
For Windows, you can launch Windows Task Manager and go to Processes Tab, kill "Firefox.exe"
For MAC, you can launch Activity Monitor and Force Quit "Firefox"

  • Trying to instal adobe flash player & firefox says theres missing plugins but when I try to install them it says no suitable plugins found so I can't install AFP

I've been having problems with my internet timing out when I try to access pages & firefox says I may have an old version of adobe flash player which is unstable so I've been trying to install a new version. Firefox then says theres missing plugins but when I click on the install missing plugins button it says no suitable plugins were found so I don't know how to get it to install AFP
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
== everytime I try to install Adobe Flash Player

Try this simple fix... I just got it to work...
First visit [http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html] download and run the flash player uninstaller.
After that I simply ran the standalone flash player installer to be found here... [http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player.exe http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player.exe]
This fix doesn't solve the auto-update issue in Firefox, but at least your Flash will hopefully work again in Firefox until a more permanent fix is made available from Mozilla...

  • Permission Problem when trying to Installation Adobe Flash Player

I'm having a problem installing the Adobe Flash Player in Windows 7 because I'm getting the now infamous message that there is not permission to install; however, mine is a bit different.
I used to have Adobe Flash Player on my machine but it has disappeared, possibly inadvertently uninstalled.  Now, when I try to install the Flash Player, it appears to be almost done and then abruptly stops and gives the lack of permission message.  Note that I am NOT getting it installed and then it fails on a restart as most seems to do  ---  it won't install in the first place.
Willing to try anything, I have downloaded and installed the subinacl.exe and the reset_fp.bat files in my Windows Resource Kits folder.  I try to run the reset_fp.bat file as Administrator (which I am) and the cursor changes to the hour glass and things are locked up.  I have to go to the Task Manager to end the process of Tools.
Next, I can simply click on the reset_fp.bat file and it goes through the DOS looking screen with line of text running down like crazy but the bottom line after it stops says that the client does not have the proper permission.  Of course, that has not corrected my problem.  I do note that the first instruction in running that routine is "Install Adobe Flash Player" and that brings me back to my original problem  ---  I can't get Adobe Flash Player installed in the first place. .
Anyone have any ideas  ---  I would be most appreciative.
    Jim B.

    Please try the offline installer:
    Internet Explorer:
    http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/latest/help/install_flash_player_ax.exe
    Firefox and other NPAPI browsers:
    http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/latest/help/install_flash_player.exe
If that doesn't work, make sure that your filesystem is in good shape:
Check your hard disk for errors in Windows 7
Then reboot the machine and try again.
If that doesn't work, please post your installer logs:
Where do I find the Flash Player installation log on Windows?

  • Trying to update Adobe Flash Player: 'update' seems to be OUT of date

I've been trying to download updated version of Adobe Flash Player over & over again for over two hours. The only available version reads 'updated April 19, 2013' and does not work - I am still seeing "blocked plug-in" everywhere there should be a video playing. How do I find and download the most up to date version? (If this IS the most up to date version, what is the problem?)
    What does this thing want??!!!?!

If you're sure you've installed the latest version of Flash, take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. After each step, relaunch Safari and test. For a "missing plug-in" error, start with Step 4.
    1. If you're getting a "blocked plug-in" error, then from the menu bar select
     ▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
and click Check Now. Quit and relaunch your browser.
    2. Triple-click the line below to select it:
    /Library/Internet Plug-Ins
Right-click or control-click the highlighted text and select
    Services ▹ Open
from the contextual menu. A folder should open. Delete the following item, or anything with a similar name, if present:
    Flash Player (failing).plugin
You may be prompted for your login password.
    3. Re-download and reinstall Flash. Download it from this page:
Adobe - Install Adobe Flash Player
Never download a Flash update from anywhere else.
    4. If you get a "missing plug-in" error, select
    Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Security
from the Safari menu bar and check the box marked Enable plug-ins.
    5. Select
    Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
from the Safari menu bar. If any extensions are installed, disable them.
    6. In the Safari preference window, select
Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
    Close the window. Then select
     ▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
and click Delete All. Close the preference pane.

  • Getting an error message trying to update Adobe Flash Player

Every time I try to update Flash Player for Firefox, by downloading the update from here: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
    I get the following error:
    Host
    "Unable to load application configuration"
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

In case one of your extensions is blocking data that the site needs, could you try Firefox's Safe Mode? That's a standard diagnostic tool to bypass interference by extensions (and some custom settings). More info: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]].
You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using
Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
In the dialog, click "Start in Safe Mode" (''not'' Reset)
    Any difference?

  • I get a "connection error" when trying to update/install Flash Player

I have a previous version of Flash player so I was trying to update it. The installation doesn't make it past 5% before saying "connection error". I have tried all the troubleshooting steps and even tried to uninstall it. When I try to download the uninstaller, I get a page on safari that says "safari cannot connect to server" (I also tried on firefox too, same problem). I have tried to locate it in my toolbar and applications to uninstall it from there with no luck, it has completely disappeared. Not in my trash, nowhere. Not sure what else to do. I am running on Mac OS X 10.7.5. When I have Adobe check to see if it is installed on my computer, it says that a previous version is installed, 16.0.0.

  • When trying to update Adobe Flash the download box pops up but it never lists the Adobe update file. Meanwhile a prompt at the bottom of my screen pops up and says "download complete"

    Firefox 6.0.2
    Windows XP
no matter how I try to update the download never shows up in the downloads box. A box pops up at the bottom of my screen and says "all downloads finished" but it never shows up in my downloads list so I am never given the option to "run".
I was able to find it manually in the download list but I have no idea why it will not pull up correctly when doing an auto update.

AA9 is not compatible with Reader. It is probably best to uninstall Reader and then repair AA9 (Help>Repair). Also, when you install you should generally be logged in as the administrator and have anti-virus disabled.
For the updates, it may be best to simply go to http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows, download the updates, and install them in order. A new system may be the problem, particularly if it is Win8 and 64 bit, you did not say. For 64-bit systems, the updates are critical (I think AA9 works on 64-bit systems after the updates). For AA X, it required 10.1 for 64-bits.
Also, if you updated OFFICE, then expect to only print to the Adobe PDF printer. AA9 does not work with PDF Maker on the newer versions of OFFICE.
If you uninstall AA9 for some reason (I don't recommend except as a last resort), then be sure to remove the Acrobat folder and run the cleaner (http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html) before a reboot and reinstall.

  • HT5660 When updating Adobe Flash Player on my Mac I am told "blocked plug in."  How do I reverse this?

When trying to update Adobe Flash Player on My iMac I get a message that says "blocked Plug-ins."  When going back to previously viewed studies, including youtube, I get the same message.  What changed if the update was never installed?  How can I reverse this situation?  Thanks for any ideas?
    PS - not a techie :-)

Are you actually getting a Java error too, or are you only getting a Flash error?

  • Problem updating Adobe Flash Player with Safari

    Hello!
I'm trying to update Adobe Flash Player using Safari on a Macbook Pro with OS X 10.10.1 but every time I download the update the file looks like this:
and when I try to start the installation this window appears:
I tried several different download links but non of them worked. I also uninstalled the Adobe Flash Player and tried to reinstall it but then I have the same problem. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong? Thank you!

For some reason that I have yet to determine, people with Matlab installed start getting .mdlp extensions appended to their downloaded files.  That's what happened here.  Rename the file to remove .mdlp (so that it ends in .dmg), then double-click the file and it should work.

  • Why am I reminded daily to update Adobe Flash Player. Do I need it and why?

I do not know of which use is Adobe Flash Player? I am reminded daily to update to avoid problems with Firefox.
I do not look movies or play games in the internet.
When starting to update Adobe Flash Player, I get afraid by the accompanying questions for private data.
Tell me what happens when I do not update Adobe Flash Player.
    Regards Gerhard

It is recommended to update it as the latest version as it includes security updates. A lot of sites use Flash to display their content, it is not just used for movies and games.
You can carry on using your current version of Flash, just be aware that it has published security holes.
