When trying to update to Yosemite my machene just reinstalled Mavericks

I purchased a macbook pro from the apple store today and when I got home I decided I should update to the latest OS I went to the app store and followed the on screen instructions to instal Yosemite the download failed the first times but on the third attempt it worked and the machine I left the computer alone so it could instal and dowload all the data it needed however when I came back it told me it was installing OS X Mavericks despite that it was already running that OS to start with.
the computer works fine now but it still running Mavericks. should I just attempt the whole process again or seek further help?
Thanks.

Hi, and welcome to the Palm Community Forums.
There are some FAQs which address this error: http://kb.palm.com/SRVS/nua/launchKB.asp?c=9205
including rebooting your PC and soft-resetting the handheld, and the alternative of installing via SD card.  Go to the Update page (link below)

and select the option near the top where it says Need Memory Card Installer?  Let us know if this helps.
