Hello, adammusic.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I would need a little more information regarding this issue to provide a better answer.  However, it sounds like you are experiencing and issue with your MacBook restarting.  Here is an article that I would recommend going through if you are experiencing that issue.
OS X: When your computer spontaneously restarts or displays "Your computer restarted because of a problem."

  • ! when trying to view photos in full-screen

    Hi,
Hopefully someone will be able to help me with this.
When I try and view some photos in full-view a grey box with an exclamation mark in a grey box appears. I've managed to locate the original photo files in the correct place in my iPhotos folder on my hard drive. I can see my photos on the standard format in iPhoto and when I first imported them I could see them in full-view. I haven't modified any of them, the only thing I've done is upload them onto facebook!!
I've checked and I've got the latest version of my iPhoto.
I'm not sure what to do next! Hope you can help,
    Anna xx

Yeah I renamed a folder in my iPhoto Library Folder and these are the photos I can't see.
*It is strongly advised that you do not move, change or in anyway alter things in the iPhoto Library Folder as this can cause the application to fail and even lead to data loss*
If I rebuild the database will it solve my problem
    No it won't.
    Your options now are two:
    1. Return things in the iPhoto Library Folder to exactly the way they were
    or
    2. Create and populate a new library.
To create and populate a new library:
Note this will give you a working library with the same Rolls and pictures as before, however, you will lose your albums, keywords, modified versions, books, calendars etc.
Move the iPhoto Library to the desktop
Launch iPhoto. It will ask if you wish to create a new Library. Say Yes.
Go into the iPhoto Library on your desktop and find the Originals folder. From the Originals folder drag the individual Roll Folders to the iPhoto Window and it will recreate them in the new library.
When you're sure all is well you can delete the iPhoto Library on your desktop.
In the future, in addition to your usual back up routine, you might like to make a copy of the library6.iPhoto file whenever you have made changes to the library as protection against database corruption.
Most people who rename things in the iPhoto Library Folder do so because they believe it will make finding pics easier. However: There are many, many ways to access your files in iPhoto:
For 10.5 users: You can use any Open / Attach / Browse dialogue. On the left there's a Media heading, your pics can be accessed there. Apple-Click for selecting multiple pics.
To upload to a site that does not have an iPhoto Export Plug-in the recommended way is to Select the Pic in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export and export the pic to the desktop, then upload from there. After the upload you can trash the pic on the desktop. It's only a copy and your original is safe in iPhoto.
This is also true for emailing with Web-based services. If you're using Gmail you can use THIS
If you use Apple's Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora you can email from within iPhoto.
If you use a Cocoa-based Browser such as Safari, you can drag the pics from the iPhoto Window to the Attach window in the browser.
Or, if you want to access the files with iPhoto not running, then create a Media Browser using Automator (takes about 10 seconds) or use THIS
    Other options include:
    1. *Drag and Drop*: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
    2. *File -> Export*: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
    3. *Show File*: Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.
Rolls in the iPhoto Window (View -> Film Rolls) correspond exactly with the Roll Folders in the Originals Folder in the iPhoto Library Folder. You can move photos between Rolls, you can rename rolls, edit them, create them, as long as you do it via the iPhoto Window. Check out the Info Pane (wee 'i', lower left) the name and date fields are editable. Edit a Roll Name using the Info Pane, the Roll Folder in iPhoto Library Folder/Originals will also have the new name.
    Regards
    TD

I get a 'blocked plug-in' message when trying to view video, such as youtube. I have updated adobe flash, and have enabled plug-ins - still doesn't work.

    Hey reslosson,
The article linked below provides more information about the blocked plug-in alert that you are seeing and will walk you through the process of changing the security settings in Safari.

  • Black Screen when trying to view videos that use Flash Player

    Hi all,
Sometimes when I'm trying to view videos on Youtube or BBC iPlayer, which use Flash Player, I'll click play and after around 2-3seconds of the video playing, my screen will go black/dark blue and the audio will stop. I'm then forced to hard reset my computer as no keyboard shortcuts work. This is starting to annoy me. Any help would be appreciated.
I have the latest Catalyst, 12.1, the latest Chipset and BIOS. I have even tried re-installing Windows to no avail. I have also tried uninstalling Adobe Flash Player using your official uninstaller and then re-installing and yet I still get this problem.
    System Specs;
    AMD-FX 4100 Quad Core Processor @ 3.6GHz
    8GB Corsair 1333MHz RAM
    320GB Samsung SpinPoint HDD
    Powercolour Radeon HD 6870 1GB
    ASUS M5A97 PRO Motherboard
    OCZ Fatal1ty 750W PSU

Your video card should be fine for GPU acceleration, but to rule this out can you try disabling hardware acceleration to see if that helps?
How do I disable or enable hardware acceleration?
If this works, please open up a new bug report so we can take a further look.  Here's a page that describes what we'll need.
How do I troubleshoot and report problems with Flash Player Video?
    Thanks,
    Chris

  • I have Windows 8 and get a green screen when trying to view videos

I have Windows 8 and get a totally green screen when trying to watch videos.  Any ideas?

go here with your problematic browser and see if you have flash player installed:  http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/find-version-flash-player.html
if you don't see confirmation that you have the flash player installed, go here and get it:  http://get2.adobe.com/flashplayer/
p.s. untick mcafee unless you're certain you want it.

  • How do I stop the taskbar from showing when I watch a video on full screen?

When I watch a video with Mozilla Firefox on sites like YouTube, Google Video or Bing Video in full screen the taskbar shows at the bottom of my screen and doesn't disappear like it does in Internet Explorer. How do I watch videos in full screen without the taskbar showing? It's not a website problem, it's not a Windows problem, it only does this on Mozilla Firefox's browser. All three websites play perfect full screen video on the Internet Explorer browser with no taskbar showing at the bottom..

    I got it :)
(I tried using Google Chrome but the same problem occurred, by the way).
    a) Right-click on the desktop area, click on "Personalize" then on "Display" (bottom left), "Set custom text size (DPI)" (left) and check "Use windows xp style DPI scaling".
    or
    b) Right-click on the desktop area, click on "Personalize" and change the Windows 7 Aero theme to Windows 7 Basic or a High Contrast theme.

  • Viewing videos in full screen or at least 2x

I watch a lot of streaming video on Safari (I don't have a TV). CNN, Jon Stewart, etc. On a Windows PC, I am able to right click an select a zooming choice (full screen. Do I need to download IE or Netscape for MAC?
Another question, somewhat related. Is anyone else watching Frontline PBS online and not able to use the Real Player link (the audio is fine, but the video plays more like a slide show)?
    Thanks for reading this.

I just found an interesting apple support document that says that in mobile me, videos published by imovie and final cut etc can be viewed full screen , but ones published by aperture 3 cannot. So this implies that aperture has a problem with full screen video.... I think.
So for now, the way I found , which is to make the move a slide show, and then view the slide show seems to be the only way to view movies in full screen in Aperture 3... But it is very odd to have to do that!....

  • Common 'Green Screen" problem when trying to view videos in iTunes

I love the show "Surface" on NBC so I decided to download the first pilot episode #101 to iTunes for Windows on my computer. When I go to "full screen" mode to watch the program it goes to a "green screen" washout that is common when Quicktime is installed whether the version 1.68 alternative or the Apple Quicktime. How do I solve this common known problem?

Anyone have any ideas or need more info, if so please let me know. This is very frustrating.

  • Impossible to view videos in full screen mode

I realise an animation in Flash thinking it will allow to produce a more powerfull presentation than Powerpoint. It includes some videos of about 1' in .fl4 format that are in a separate file. I published this animation in .swf; and in standalone projectors for Mac and PC .exe and .app. It works well in normal mode, videos are running perfectly. But in Full screen it blocks when it get to a frame with a video, showing a black screen and freezing the animation. It does exactly the same with checking, unchecking "material acceleration" both in the Flash player when running the .exe or .swf or .app file or in the exportation (publication) parameters of the .fla file. I also try to play the .swf file in Chrome or Firefow instead of Flash Player : same problem. It does also the same on the several machines (Windows and Mac) of a museum that is supposed to run the presentation. I used Plash Player 10, then 11 and 12 version : same problem.
Result : in normal mode the presentation is dirty and it is really ruining more than three weeks of hard work.
I get through hundreds of Google searches without finding any solution.
Thank for your help. Before tomorrow if possible...

    Windows 7

Think of Full Screen Mode like a browser that let's you watch a movie. If you stop before it ends, it remembers your place and lets you take up where you left off the next time you come back.
Move your cursor down toward the bottom middle of the full screen view. You will see a cover flow view, and you can select the project you want to view.

  • I cannot view videos in full screen using Flash Player

I currently have Windows 8. I was pulling up some videos to get ready to watch some football games through a website. The video plays just fine until I tried to make it full screen. Then the screen is black but the audio continues just fine.  I've tried all of the fixes that I can find with no luck in resolving the issue. According to Adobe's website, Flash Player is already embedded in Internet Explorer for Windows 8, so I cannot technically "install" it. According to Adobe's website, I have the most current version.
Please help! The game is on Saturday!

Ugh!   This is why I don't use Internet Exploder.  May I suggest downloading Firefox (http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/), and the Flash Player (Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)) for it, and see if it works better? I'll bet it does.

  • Problem with viewing videos in Full Screen

I have created a playlist containing numerous music videos in iTunes Windows XP. I have no problem entering Full Screen, but at various points of time, the full screen will cut out reverting back to the smaller size. It seems to happen after about 2 hours but usually on a different video. When I reset it to Full Screen again, it will stay for another long period but always drop back to the smaller size at some point. I have reinstalled iTunes but the problem persists. Any ideas how to correct?

I have the same problem, anything I try to do in full screen just pops right back down to the previous screen. If I play a video I can hear it, but I can't see it.

  • Constant crashing when trying to view video

Whenever I try to view a video, my computer will crash. It will also crash randomly when sleeping. After these crashes it suavely starts up okay again. However, sometimes I have to force it to turn off and start multiple times or else the display will not turn on. All crash reports say GPU panic so I feel like it's an issue switching into discreet graphics. I tried turning off graphics switching and it crashed 2 seconds after.
Anyone experience something similar? This started a while back but it usually only happened once every 2 weeks or so. But now it's happening multiple times a day. I haven't been able to take the computer into the apple store since I need it for school and can't afford to be without it.
This is my latest crash log:

  • Build specification freezes when trying to view "Shared Variable Deployment" screen

    Labview 2009 f3
For some strange reason, any applications that include shared variable libraries will no longer build into executables.
I was able to build these applications without issue a week ago.  However, when I went to make an updated build today, the build failed and I had to force Labview to close.  When I view the build specification properties, I can navigate through all the option screens except the "Shared Variable Deployment" screen.  As soon as I click on that option, the interface freezes up and I have to force Labview to close.
This problem does not occur for applications that do not include shared variable libraries.
I tried removing the shared variable libraries from the applications that were failing, but that did not correct the issue.

I never did find a proper fix to this issue.
One day I attempted to build the application again, but this time I got distracted doing something else.  When I finally checked the build status a few minutes later I expected it to still be frozen, but to my surprise I found that the application did successfully build.  To this day, that particular application still looks like it is going to lock up, but about about 8 minutes later it finally takes off and builds like nothing was wrong...like every other shared variable application I have created.  So I guess my only suggestion is to let the application sit for a while and see what happens.
