When typing on laptop hand hits something, screen changes,lose current page??
When typing on my laptop keyboard, sometimes the palm of my hand will hit some keys, don't know what or where, and my page might change or I lose what I have typed. Does this have anything to do with the "hot keys" on my key board for my Toshiba computer? Should I or can I turn off hot keys to avoid this? Please help as it is very frustrating when in the middle of something.
I found on my laptop that the touch pad was interfering too much when I was typing so I started using a USB mouse and disabling the pad. It didn't stop all the behaviour you describe, but it has cut it down considerably. Now the only time this problem occurs is when I am being klutzy with my typing, such as hitting the Enter key when I want the right Shift key.

When placing a png in indesign the png changes/loses its orginal color.

( my RGB is : 5,125, 255 - when I type this I get a " out of gamut warning" a little yellow icon. When I click on it indesign automatically changes the RGB into: 67, 117, 187)
I have worked with indesign for 6 years and never experienced this before. I am guessing it has something to due with that the png is in RGB and indesign in cmyk, but I have no idea what to do about it?Out of Gamut means the color cannot be printed in your current workspaces using CMYK inks. You would see a preview of the converted color if you move into Overprint Preview, use Proof Colors, or there is transparency and the blend space is set to CMYK.
If this is destined for screen use, then the color doesn't matter, but you should be sure the blend space is set to RGB. -
I currently left all Google services I used, Gmail, Chrome, etc.. because of the recent selling info to the gov and what not and although it may or may not be true I am being safe and switched to Firefox and a different email provider. Anyway so far I like Firefox I am using DuckDuckGo as my current default search and I would like to use it as my search engine when I type in a search in the address bar, by default it's Google how do I change it to a search provider I want to like DuckDuckGo?

I've tried everything.... I see this problem all over the web, but no one seems to have an answer... so I know it's not just me. Laptops and other wireless devices connecting fine, just iPhone 4 has problem.
When you say you have tried "everyihing" that doesn't provide enough information to help you, as one person's "everything" is quite different from another person's "everything". In the absence of knowing what you have tried, the following are the most common causes of this problem.
Turning off 3G will just switch you to EDGE. You can turn off Cellular Data, but that won't make it connect to WiFi if your WiFi isn't working, it will just eliminate all data access to your phone.
Easiest to try answer if it is only your home WiFi, and it works other places: Reboot your router.
Next, update the firmware in your router.
If it doesn't work with any WiFi anywhere first Reset Network settings. If that doesn't fix it, restore the phone using iTunes.
You didn't say what symptoms you got, or when you were trying to use WiFi. You do know that the iPhone turns off WiFi when the phone is on standby to preserve battery, right? So if it only fails to connect to WiFi when you are not actively using it that is normal. -
on the search bar far right where you can book mark the page to the right of this it is red and x'd out. so if there is some help great. fully unintalled firefox 4 b10, including removing the directories where program resided. rebooted computer, reinstalled it and still did the same thing.

There's no thumbnails to drag around except one on the left side of the page (the one that's open). The right side of the page lists every tab I have created.
Perhaps your problem is that '''you must save your browsing history''' in order to use app-tabs that would apply to groups as well but I did not test.

I would suggest that if you do not save that stuff in bookmarks, that you will probably have a serious problem soon and lose your tabs, so if you count on them you could lose them. They should stand up to repeated restarts but I would not count of them as app-tabs myself, for one thing it is new, the other is I have to frequently wipe them out and restart, because I actively open new content into them and go back to the beginning of the tab history, and sometimes I can't, and sometimes I lose them by accidentally closing them -- and I must be able to close them in all manners that I close other tabs or I wouldn't be using them.
There are people who keep 200 tabs open through restarting, that is not for me, I try to clear out the tabs frequently.
That is what app-tabs are for as opposed to home pages, but I did have a problem when I tested with 120 since as app-tabs only about 65 can be seen at once even though I did reduce the width of app-tabs to about 2/3 the size that they were.. Problem I had when I restarted was that the window enlarged a bit beyond the screen, and my tab counter disappeared until I reduced the count to about 65. I do not allow tabs to scroll so you probably wouldn't have that problem.
I forgot to test home page with 60 tabs. I do have something set to 75 though have to check that. I tested with 60 pages as home page. Brought firefox down and backup with the 1 app-tab and 60 home pages the app-tab is the same size as the 60 normal tabs from home page.
Never used group-tabs by choice, since they messed me up I stay clear of them, I don't like them or anything large panoramic type of large thumbnails. -
What can I do to use the wireless mouse easier. I will be using it and it will move my page and I can't find it again. Sometimes it will enlarge the text when I accidently hit it. I want an old model since they were much easier to use.
Two features you can disable in System Preferences > Mouse.
The one that switches pages - uncheck System Preferences > Mouse > More Gestures > Swipe between pages.
For the zoom - Uncheck System Preferences > Mouse > Point & Click tab > Smart Zoom

When will Apple offer a "print current page" option????
There are 2 things I like about Windoze:
1. I am tired of having to tab to the pages area of the print dialogue box and type 2 & 2 again, when I really wish Apple would just put a print current page option.
Can anyone who works @ apple see that it gets implemented next update?

Serious screen lag when typing in fields with Safari, Chrome, etc.
With my MacBook Pro 15" i7 I'm experiencing a serious lag time when typing comments in posts online... like right now.. I'll type a few words and nothing shows up on the screen until I stop typing. Then the rest of the words leisurely fill in after I stop.
This happens in Safari, Chrome, Firefox, etc. On my iMac 27" i7 and MacPro, using the same Airport wi-fi in my house, I do not experience this.
When I type in Mail, TextEdit, etc., as I type the letters show up as fast as I can type.
I've got 8GB of RAM, 4GB of free RAM, a MacBook Pro15" i7, 500GB 7200 RPM HDD with plenty of space on it, recently fixed permissions, checked disk with Disk Utility AND DiskWarrior, re-booted, cleared caches, checked for current firmware... what now?
This doesn't happen on my other Macs, so I know something is up with this machine. (I typed that entire last sentence in before anything showed up on the screen - then when I stopped, after a few seconds, the words filled in.)

When i type my email, the text would go on and on and overflows. I mean to say it doesn't autmatically hit the right hand side wall and change to next line! I have to manually press enter and then next line starts. Started happening suddenly.pls help.
Does it happen when you reply to an email? If so, it might be that there's content in the original email (like an image or something similar) that overflows the window content, therefore the Mail app, when you hit the border, follows the content below instead of going on a new line. You might wanna try that.

This is a brand new machine that I just purchased from Apple. It was delivered yesterday
The old computer is an old PowerMac G5, but my OS X install disc is a retail version of 10.5.
I also tried the OS X 10.5 install disc that came with my MacBook Pro (2.6 Ghz Intel Core 2 Dual).
Same issue - nothing but a grey screen when the system tries to boot from the DVD
