When updating a modified image, why is my scaling among changing?

Hello,
I have a catalog and I am updating modified images. The scaling is getting weird ... For example, an image that was scaled 65% is now coming in at 68% and out of position?
I have the preference set to make sure relinked images come in the same scale?
Does anyone else know what would cause this?  I see the retoucher changed the size of the image slightly, but should it still come in at 65%? And then I would reposition?
Any thoughts are greatly appreciated!
thanks
Babs

You can change this in your InDesign preferences. Uncheck Preserve Image Dimensions When Relinking

    When I select an image, why do I see a grey warning triangle on a black screen?  I can see the image in the Event review, but it won't let me see it independently.

    The ! turns up when iPhoto loses the connection between the thumbnail in the iPhoto Window and the file it represents.
    Option 1
    Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
    Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In Library Manager it's the FIle -> Rebuild command)
    This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
    Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

  • How to update previously modified Image and prevent from reverting?

    Below is my code for updating a painComponent:- it basically zooms in on a particular image. The zooming works for the first try. But since the Image ITSELF isnt updated if i try to zoom in on the zoomed image its actually trying to zoom the original image since my g.drawImage() has the original Image (not zoomed). Is there anyway to update the Image so that it is the previously zoomed image and not the original? I searched for "zoom" throughout the boards and no one seemed to brough this "problem" up. Can someone help me out? thanks

  • When Updating to IOS4 Do Not Say Yes to Udpate Changes to Settings

    I updated my iPhone 3g to IOS4 on release date. OK You can stop laughing at me know, I got screwed over but I was lucky.
    I couldn't get the OS to install using the update so I did the work around and downloaded the OS into iTunes and did a backup and then a restore. I had read a couple of threads that said this would work a lot faster than doing the update. I had waited nearly three hours for the update to finish so I figured it was the combination of my creaky old PC, iTunes and one of the apps on my phone so I tried the restore instead of update trick. It actually worked and only took about 30 minutes start to finish.
    BUT when it was done I got a dialog box telling me that I had changed my settings and did I want to apply this change to my phone <YES> or <NO>? Without thinking about it I clicked yes and my phone did another sync. I lost my address book, email and text messages all in one fell swoop. Can you spell panic and nausea? I thought you could.
    I was all over the web looking for ways to restore my stuff. I tried another sync because the last one I did before installing the new OS should have still been there...No Luck.
    I tried everything I could think of and nothing worked. I wasn't too worried about my email, because of course it was still out on the web (Gmail Rocks!!)
    Then it occurred to me, I had been using Gmail and GSync. I set up a new G-Sync account on my phone and set it to running. It took about 24 hours total, but all of my email, contacts and text messages restored themselves to my phone wirelessly.
    So I strongly recommend that you do not apply changes to your phone when you do the IOS4 update. At least not the first time around. I also do not recommend using the restore in place of update workaround. Just let the update run (and run and run and run and, well you get it)until it finishes. You should get a clean install and a total restore of your music, contacts, apps, email, etc. I have no idea why an update on an 8 Gb iPhone needs to take hours, but apparently it just does.
    So to sum up:
    If updating to IOS4 use the update in iTunes not restore
    At the end of the update DO NOT apply changes to settings
    DO use gmail and G-Sync or another email that backs up your address book to the web.

    Fixed it......
    The problem was my Apps library in iTunes was not populated with the apps on my phone after the update of iTunes and iOS4. Therefore, that is why I "lost" them visually. Now, had I gone and hit "Apply" I would have been screwed, since nothing was in my iTunes App library.....Sneaky.....
    In iTunes, File>"Transfer Purchases from iPhone"
    This populates the iTunes App library with the apps on your device. It will take a few minutes, but all of the apps will now show up when you go back and try to sync the iPhone.

  • When i edit an image in aperature it does not change in idvd like it used to?

    i made several DVDs with iDVD its a great program. Always using aperature for my pictures and videos. When i edited a picture in some way like "crop" in aperature it used to change automatically in iDVD. It no longer does and all images are the "master" versions in the iDVD projects unless i manually change them. Why is this? Thank you

    It is possible that Aperture is saving the edits in its database and there's no hard copy of the photo available for iDVD to refresh to?  Just ran a test with a photo on the Desktop that I added to iDVD.  After editing it with PS and saving to replace the original on the Desktop iDVD reflected the change.
    I then repeated the same test but on a photo in iPhoto and it's edited version would not refresh in iDVD.  I had to go back to the Media Brower to get the edited version and use it.  It would not refresh automaticallly if edited in iPhoto.  Aperture and iPHoto share the same library so I imaging it's the same with Aperture.

  • Updating saved LBO image

    Hi All!
    I am facing a problem when updating an SUPBigBinary image in an LBO.
    When I initially create the object in the LBO, the image is saved correctly and updated correctly,.. however, If I later wish to update the image with another image, it seems it is restricted to the original NSData length.
    The new image saved is only visible halv-way.
    Example:
    To the left: Image taken with iPad, low-res
    To the right: Larger image of a car
    Notice the gray bottom of the right image.
    Even worst, if I do not save an image just after I create the LBO item,... no image will be saved. The updating just seems to ignore the length.
    My code:
    WCR_LBO *wcr = [WCR_LBO getInstance];
    [wcr setCOMPONENT_DESCR:[self getValueForRow:kTitleComponentDescription]];
    [wcr setCUSTOMER_PRICE:[NSNumber numberWithFloat:[costString floatValue]]];//11
    [wcr setCUSTOMER_ID:self.customerId.KUNNR];
    if (self.viewMode == kWcrViewModeAdding)
        [wcr setCREATION_DATE:[NSDate date]];
        [wcr setWCR_LBO_ID:[NSString stringWithFormat:@"%i", [MHCDashboardUtil getAndSetNextDashboardLboId]]];
        [wcr create];
    if (self.imageView.image)
        NSData *img1 = [UIImageJPEGRepresentation(self.imageView.image, 1) copy];
        SUPBigBinary *bbImg1 = wcr.PICTURE;
        [bbImg1 openForWrite:img1.length];
        [bbImg1 write:img1];
        [bbImg1 close];
        [wcr setPICTURE:bbImg1];
        [wcr save];
    I have also tried it with setting openForWrite: to 0, same result.
    What am I doing wrong?
    Best regards,

  • Must repeatedly reset Firefox when updating script in Netbeans

    Using Firefox 27.0.1, Windows 7 Professional Service Pack 1, Netbeans 7.4, XAMPP 3.2.1 (also happens on
    another laptop with Windows 8.
    When updating or writing an HTML script in Netbeans, the changes (while they show up in the script) do not execute when I run the script. If I reset Firefox and restart my script the changes are executed. I have noticed also when I change the script and enter Firebug (debugger), the script is not changed. Again, resetting Firefox and reloading Firebug causes the script changes to execute.
    This is a random problem and occurs with complex, or even simple, script changes.

    Thank you. The locations should solve my problem.
    To clarify. I'm trying to get this working on a headless linux system running under a restricted user account.
    While there are many great things available in the firefox UI for managing profiles, being able to do the equivalent actions via simple CLI actions or options (e.g., firefox --reset-profile ) would greatly simplify my life.
    Without a CLI (or the storage locations of these settings -- thank you!), I can't reliably restore my automated build environment to a pristine state -- and I wanted to avoid writing a screen scraping tool to wrap and control firefox's profile manager to find and click the Reset Firefox button. Just seemed too meta...

  • When moving to Aperture 3, why upgrade the imaging system all at once?

    I have been reading about the library migration issues when upgrading to Aperture 3 and my question is this: what is the advantage, if any, of attempting to migrate all the images instead of just upgrading the database and tackling the images as needed? For example, with a 60 gig library of previously edited images, why would I bother migrating all the images when I could simply do that one image at a time, as needed, to take advantage of the new editing tools? Wouldn't this approach make the upgrade process infinitely smoother and faster?
    Apple says much the same thing is their support article here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3945
    So, for those of you forcing the images update process along with the database upgrade, my question is why take the risk? Yes I know it is supposed to work, and it probably does for most people, but why bother taking that risk for images you have already edited when you can easily do it an image at a time? Am I missing something?

    IDImager allows for Keywords to be written in hierarchical format. This means each individual keyword includes the parent keywords like this: "Others|Import|2009|2009-02-22". The only debate in my mind is about what will be more time consuming, writing and debugging a script to have exiftool extract the keywords and apply them hierarchical, or doing this task manually.
    From playing with the Aperture trial I deducted that making changes to keywords in the keyword HUD applies these changes to all images. Changing the "fred" keyword to "Freddy" will update all images that have the original "fred" keyword applied.
    We'll see. I am certainly not new to programming but have not used AppleScript before. Am still searching for a comprehensive guide and scripting examples that would help in pulling this off. But as I get closer to having the pre-processing outside of Aperture done for all of my images and very little accomplished in terms of the script I am leaning towards manually fixing my keywords.

  • Once I accept a calendar invite on my iPhone, I cannot delete or otherwise modify it.  Even when it is updated or deleted by the invitor, it does not change on my iPhone.  Is there a fix for this?

    Once I accept a calendar invite on my iPhone, I cannot delete or otherwise modify it.  Even when it is updated or deleted by the invitor, it does not change on my iPhone.

    My husband and I both have iphone 4's and we both have this same problem.  I have an open ticket with apple, but so far they haven't been able to figure this out.  First, they told me the problem was the mail server I was using.  So, I tried sending/receiving invites from gmail and yahoo which they told me should work.  Neither did.  It doesn't matter whether the original invite was created in iCal or in Outlook or Google, once I open the invite in my mail and hit "add to calendar" the event is locked into my calendar.  If the originator sends an update or cancels the meeting, I will receive an email with the new info, but the event doesn't change in my iphone calendar.  This is completely lame.  Why bother putting a calendar app on the phone if it can't handle basic functions?
    Did you ever get a response from anyone or figure out a workaround?  I'll post if I hear back from Apple with a fix.

    An upper-up wants the message clients see when updates are ready for installation changed. They want the "Software changes must be applied to your computer after [date]" changed to something else. Is this possible? (See the image below)

    No, there is no supported way to modify this dialog box.  If you submit feedback on Connect and post a link here, I'd definitely vote it up.

    This link shows that ACR 8.3 supports the Nikon D610 and 6.7.1 was the final version for CS5.
    Camera Raw plug-in | Supported cameras
    So you can upgrade to CS6 and ACR 8.7.1
    or using the DNG converter, convert your Nikon raw files to dng format to open in CS5.
    Here is the download link: Adobe - Adobe Camera Raw and DNG Converter : For Macintosh : Adobe DNG Converter 8.7.1
    or Windows: Adobe - Adobe Camera Raw and DNG Converter : For Windows : Adobe DNG Converter 8.7.1
    And here is a great video tutorial on how to use the converter.

    I'm sorry Allan, I should have clarified, your answer is improbable (well the first part atleast).
    The apps I have had since the first week of purchase of my iphone back in 2011,  I have not added any apps until 2 months before the last software update.  This starting happening when the new software was implemented but I have not updated to iOS6 yet.  Unless this person was able to hack into my account & transfer them to their account, I do not see how that is possible.
    Prior to seeing this other AppleID, I have a popup to prompt me for my AppleID each time I download content.  Each time I would see mine and enter my password.
