When updating credit card info I get message to contact iTunes support
When I try to update credit card I get a message that says to contact iTunes support. I'm not able to make purchase unless I use a iTunes card. I would like to be able to use my credit card. I read somewhere that it could be that my account is locked.
If you haven't already done so then you can contact iTunes support via this page and ask them why the message is appearing (these are user-to-user forums) : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page

I keep getting a message to contact itunes support when I try to make an in app purchase. What could be causing this issue? My credit card is up to date and in app purchases aren't restricted.
Have you tried contacting iTunes Support and asking them ? We are fellow users here on these forums, it could be due to a number of reasons, we won't know which one.

Updating credit card info in the iTunes Store
Hi there, I am trying to update my credit card info in the iTunes Store and I get the message: Please contact iTunes support to complete this transaction. Does anyone know what is going on?
On your computer's iTunes you should be able to edit your payment info by going into the Store > View Account menu option and logging into your account, and on your account's details page there should be a payment link. If you are doing it on your iPhone then try tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store and select 'View Apple ID' on the popup - that should also give you a payments link on your account's page.

I cant update credit card info on itunes
I just bought a new Ipad 2. All was well until I went to download a free app. Itunes prompted me to sign in and verify billing info. Now, Itunes will not let me update my credit card info or download apps, even though I have credit balance on my account. I have sent four messages to Itunes support with NO help. So much for 24 hour response time.
Someone help, please.......If you are getting a message to contact iTunes Support then they are the only people that can help you, we are fellow users here on these forums we won't know why you are getting the message. I am unable to enter billing info in Apple ID to get hooked into App Store or iTunes. It wont't go past the credit card info. It keeps prompting me to see tech support. Can you tell me what I'm doing wrong? It's quite frustrating.

Want to create Apple ID for both my children's IPad's. Tried creating new email account for my son and it will not let me. I want them to be only able to purchase from redeemed gift cards and everytime it asks me to update credit card info on their Ipad.
Look, I understand I still need a card attached to the account. The problem is, it won't accept my card because I only have 87 cents in my bank account right now.
If I had known there would be so much trouble with the iTunes card, I would have just put the cash in my bank account in the morning instead of buying an iTunes card (I didn't expect the banks to be open on Thanksgiving of course).
Apple will only accept cards that have a balance. The balance is so small in my account that it won't accept it as a valid card.
I'm going to have to contact Apple anyway to reset the security questions. That's obvious. Your answers were not exactly helpful. You didn't tell me anything I don't already know, but thanks for trying to be helpful. -

Is there a way to restrict ability to update iOS?
We are using iPads on carts managed with Apple Configurator. If a student updates iOS on an iPad, then that iPad can no longer be managed by Configurator. Is there a way is prevent users from update iOS?
