when upgrading to newest version of itunes, it will not open due to MSVCR80.dll is missing. it says to reinstall which I did but program still will not open.

It sounds like you are unable to open iTunes after a recent update. I suggest the troubleshooting steps from the article named:
iTunes 11.1.4 for Windows: Unable to install or open

Check for .dll files
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes and C:\Program Files\iTunes and look for .dll files.
If you find QTMovie.DLL, or any other .dll files, move them to the desktop.
Reboot your computer.
Note: Depending on your operating system, you may only have one of the listed paths.
Uninstall and reinstall iTunes
Uninstall iTunes and all of its related components.
Reboot your computer. If you can't uninstall a piece of Apple software, try using the Microsoft Program Install and Uninstall Utility.
Re-download and reinstall iTunes 11.1.4.

There was a pop up asking if I wanted to upgrade so I clicked yes and then there was an error message, I didn't write down what the message said at that time. I tried to open my itunes icon and it says MSCVR80.dll is missing and to try reinstalling itunes. I have tried reinstalling and each time it says to check that I am authorized to add which I click retry or ignore and it says it's failed to install. I uninstalled itunes thinking I should start fresh? then is does the same thing. I don't know enough about computers to even know what I should do or what I've done wrong.

Error when upgrading to newer versions of iTunes

I currently have version 7.1.1.5 of iTunes installed on my windows PC. I have tried numerous times to install the upgraded recently 7.3 version without any luck.
Evrytime I double click on the executable file, it starts the install but then stops and tells me that it can't find the specified drive to install to. I've upgraded to a newer hdd less than 6 months ago and have named them differently. Why wouldn't iTunes let me CHOOSE where I would like to install it to instead of assuming that everyone will be downloading and installing to "C" drive or anything else? Is there any way around this?
I am unable to upgrade b/c it is looking to install to my "J" drive which is a drive I no longer have!!

I haven't had a drive labeled J since my last hdd died. I've since upgraded and changed the name to "C" drive. My iTunes is installed on my K drive which is my external hdd that connects via USB

When I start firefox 12 it gives two errors; First one saying mozutils.dll is missing and firefox needs to be installed. Second mozjs.dll not found in system.

I downloaded and copied the mozutils.dll and mozjs.dll in the system32 folder and the first error message stopped. But the second error message persists.
The second error message says that no entry point found...... could not be located in the dynamic link library mozjs.dll
I did a clean install of firefox but still the same error.

DON'T PLAY WITH SYSTEM32 folder. You can get your Windows Corrupted.
You will need to Reinstall Firefox because your previous Installation did not end properly or it got Corrupted.

* DO NOT SELECT TO REMOVE USER DATA AND SETTINGS
* Restart your system
-> Download latest Firefox version from the following link using some other Web Browser:

Can't upgrade to new version of itunes

when i try to upgrade to new version of itunes, i receive an error, "can't find file, iTunes.msi. somewhere along the line this file was deleted. i can't even uninstall the program without this file!

I have the same problem. I've even tried to uninstall iTunes but I get the same errormessage that it can't find iTunes.msi. Specifically it says it can't find iToons 8.0.0.35. I can't get updates for iTunes or my iPhone.
Is there any way to correct the problem? I'd like to uninstall it and reload it as long as I won't delete all of my music.

I recently installed Panda Internet Security 2012 (about 12 days ago), initially iTunes worked fine as usual but within the last few days I've been unable to open it with the same messages appearing. I've read through some of these pages and tried everything that's been advised, uninstalling and reinstalling while internet and laptop security is swithched off, downloading tools to completely remove anything related to iTunes, tried it in Safe Mode, nothing has worked. I've also noticed that in the start menu when I click on iTunes, it says '(empty)' where it should have the logo and ability to start the program, does this mean it doesn't download + install properly each time I've tried? Any help would be enormously appreciated.

At first, it can be difficult to determine which version of Numbers you are using. The user interfaces are different, but if you are new to the apps you may think you are using the new version when if fact you have launched the older version. Make sure you are using Version 3.x. Then you won't get the message that you need a newer version.
Use Spotlight to launch Numbers. After typing Numbers into the search field, pick the result that says "Numbers -- Applications".

It's best to start with figuring out your eMac model and OS in order to answer the question. This article will help you determine your model:
How to locate the serial number and identify your model
And to get the version of Mac OS that's installed:
From the Apple Menu at the left end of your menu bar, select "About this Mac..."
In the resulting Window, you can see the Mac OS version just under the big "Mac OS X":
If the eMac is older and you have never upgraded the system software, it's possible that your OS version is too old to run the current iTunes. The current version requires OS 10.5 (Leopard)or higher, which is a pay-for system upgrade.

That suggests that the installer is getting damaged during the download.
I'd first try downloading an installer from the Apple website using a different web browser:
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
If you use Firefox instead of IE for the download (or vice versa), do you get a working installer?

If you still have an issue you may have to see about using the iTunes version (application) included with Snow Leopard 10.6 from the installer or an another one if available online, and see if that will install.
Sometimes you may have uninstall the bits left in your system by the earlier (or later) iTunes installers; as they all leave a trace and these can stop a different version of iTunes from being installed.
