When use "Direct Delta", "Queued Delta" and "Unserialized V3"?
Hi, I saw here a loot of threads asking the diference between these update methods.
But my question is simple, When I use one or another?
Like, Direct Delta I can use in real time data aquisition! (it´s just an exemple, i do not know if is possible).
But to clarify the question of the use of this methods, some exemples of when is recommended to use one type or another will be very usefull.
Thanks
Hi Eduardo,
You can use the update mode in the below mentined scenarios
Direct Delta: You can use this delta if your have lower number of transactions i.e., Less number of document modifications. AS this results in lesser number of transactional data/Records to be picked.
Queued Delta: you can choose this update mode if you have more number of documents/trasactions with
more number of documents changes posted in ur R3 as it results in more in number trasactions.
Serialised Delta: It is the best method to get data to SAP BW.
In general if Supermarkets will opt for Queued Delta as they needs to record large number of transactions and for them this mode is best suited.
Direct Delta is opt by big companies where there will be lesser number of records and changes

SpeedGrade crashes every time it is launched standalone and when using Direct link to Adobe SpeedGrade from Premiere it only closes Premiere. It never try to even open SpeedGrade. All the effects have been removed and I have been successful with this in the past using CC, this is a new problem. Any ideas?

Since installing LTR 5.4, which I've now upgraded to 5.6, I've encountered repeated slowness and malfunctions in operations, especially when using the Compare View function and the Tab key to open and close the right and left side panels. Such problems never arose during two years of using LTR-4 and nothing else has changed on my computer. I have a pretty simple system with only a few plug-ins, which are usually not in operation. I have 12GB of RAM in my Windows 7 PC. I could illustrate these problems with screen shots if you would tell me how to submit screen shots. Otherwise I will try to describe the problems in words.
The problem is clearly cumulative, growing worse as usage time passes. Compare View feature gradually slows down and eventually seems to choke as my work session proceeds. If I Exit LTR and re-enter and start all over, things will work normally for maybe 30 minutes, but then the Compare View feature begins to become very slow to respond. In a recent example with my screen full of thumbnails in Library mode I highlighted two images to compare. LTR started to open the Compare View screen by first having the top row of thumbnails disappear to be replaced by the "SELECT" and "CANDIDATE" words in their spaces (but no images), but Compare View never succeeded in gaining control of the screen. After some seconds the top row of thumbnails reasserted its position and the Compare View windows disappeared. But LTR kept trying to bring them back. Again the top row of thumbnails would go away, Select and candidate would reappear, try again, and give up. This went on for at least 2-3 minutes before I tried to choose File and Exit, but even that did not initially want to respond. It doesn't like to accept other commands when it's trying to open Compare View. Finally it allowed me to exit.
To experiment I created a new catalog of 1100 images. After 30-40 minutes, the Compare View function began to operate very slowly. With left and right side panels visible and two thumbnails highlighted, hitting Compare View can take half a minute before the two mid-size images open in their respective SELECT and CANDIDATE windows. When the side panels are open and two images are in the Select/Candidate spaces, hitting the Tab button to close the side panels produces a very delayed response--25-30 seconds to close them, a few more seconds to enlarge the two images to full size. To reverse the process (i.e., to recall the two side panels), hitting Tab would make the two sides of the screen go black for up to a minute, with no words visible. Eventually the info fields in the panels would open up.
I also created a new user account and imported a folder of 160 images. After half an hour Compare View began mis-placing data. (I have a screen shot to show this.) CANDIDATE appears on the left side of SELECT, whereas it should be on the right. The accompanying camera exposure data appears almost entirely to the left of the mid-screen dividing line. Although the Candidate and Select headings were transposed, the image exposure data was not, but the data for the image on the right was almost entirely to the left of the line dividing the screen in two.
Gurus in The Lightroom Forum have examined Task Manager data showing Processes running and Performance indicators and they see nothing wrong. I could also send screen shots of this data.
At this point, the only way I can process my images is to work 30-40 minutes and then shut down everything, exit, and re-start LTR. This is not normal. I hope you can find the cause, and then the solution. If you would like to see my screen shots, tell me how to submit them.

Safari quits when using librooksbas.dylib plug-in and with Rapport switched on. Hence can only use Safari with Rapport switched off. Anyone know how to keep Rapport on and use Safari?
While the usual advice is to remove Rapport, there have been a number of recent reports where both that & genieo adware were involved.
See Adware Removal Guide : Genieo

Otherwise, if you really want to keep it, perhaps uninstall it completely, including any Safari extension; then reinstall. -

Sequence of operations - Direct Delta, Queued Delta, Unserialized V3 Update
Is the below understanding about each update method correct?
a) Direct Delta
- The user selects a process (e.g. creating, updating or deleting a purchase order), fills the fields in the screen, presses SAVE.
- A module makes inserts, updates and deletes on the Application Tables.
- This or another module inserts delta relevant information (e.g.: before and after image, the key for deletion, reverse image, etc) about this PO in the Communication Structures.
- Another module reads the Comm Structures and inserts this information in the Delta Queue.
- COMMIT the operations in the App Tables and in the Delta Queue.
- The user receives a success message.
b) Queued Delta
- The user selects a process, fills the fields in the screen, presses SAVE.
- A module makes inserts, updates and deletes on the App Tables.
- This or another module inserts delta relevant information about this PO in the Comm Structures.
- Another module reads the Comm Structures and inserts this information in the Extraction Queue.
- COMMIT the operations in the App Tables and in the Extraction Queue.
- The user receives a success message.
- Periodically, a Collective Run inserts this information in the Delta Queue and deletes it from the Extraction Queue.
c) Unserialized V3 Update
- The user selects a process, fills the fields in the screen, presses SAVE.
- A module makes inserts, updates and deletes on the App Tables.
- COMMIT the operations in the App Tables.
- The user receives a success message.
- This or another module inserts delta relevant information about this PO in the Comm Structures.
- Another module reads the Comm Structures and inserts this information in the Information Structures (also known as Statistical Tables), as part of the LIS data flow u2013 as I understand it has nothing to do with LO data extraction, but it is coded this way.
- If the inserts into the Information Structures work well, another module reads the Comm Structures and inserts this information in the Update Table.
- Periodically, a Collective Run inserts this information in the Delta Queue and deletes it from the Update Table.

Thanks for your attention, but I've already read:
- Roberto Negrou2019s blogs,
- OSS Note 505700,
- Power point u201CNew Update Methods for Logistics Extraction with PI 2003.1u201D (quoted in the OSS Note, link u201Chttp://service.sap.com/~sapidb/011000358700005772172002u201D),
- many threads wich provided very useful information.
I need now more detailed information, step by step operation on each update method, like I posted in the thread.
Actually I want to cross this information with another thread I posted (), about Figure 6 (Comparison among call function hierarchies involved in different update methods).
This Figure is showed in Negrou2019s Episode Three and in the power point. I believe that this figure is wrong or at least is missing something.
Do you know about these two points, or can you please forward to someone who can help us ???
Thanks

Computer chatter when using direct out and splitter box
Hello
I have recently purchased a line6 bass amp and when using the direct out for recording I get computer chatter through the speakers.
I also get the same problem using a splitter box. One lead to the amp and the other into the interface. As soon as I plug into the interface the chatter comes back.
I also have the same problem using a splitter box to a guitar amp
I have a recording studio and use top quality leads
Presonus tube preamps and M Audio interface.
If I plug an instrument or mic in........... no chatter at all. Only with direct out and splitter box does the problem arise.
Previously I have recorded my amp and then a DI track separately but would like to record them simultaneously
Has anyone else had this problem and did they find a solution?
Thank youThere are loads of posts in these discussions concerning the problems that people have when they upgrade. The gist of it seems to be to make sure you know which plug-ins, samples, devices, & drivers you have +in advance,+ so that when they don't work you will be prepared & will know what to do.
The shocking truth is that some items that we can become quite dependent on will one day very likely just stop working, & will never work again after that.
I hate it when that happens. OTOH, I have eight Akai S612 Samplers, & they all still work… -
Hi
I have an issue when using cairngorm's ModuleViewLoader along with ParsleyModuleDescriptor to load a simple module consistig mainly of HBoxes, VBoxes and Datagrids.
The module consists of one child (let's call it ViewA) and that child consists of several children as its components.
When I use cairngorm's ModuleViewLoader along with the ParsleyModuleDescriptor and Parlsey to inject the modulemanager in my main app, the module loads, as well as ViewA but some nearly all of ViewA's children are not loaded (in fact they're initialized but creationComplete is not invoked).
When I use Flex's mx:ModuleLoader all ViewA's chikldren are initialized and creation complete is also invoked.
I will attach the source as a zip file later on....
but for now...this is all I can give http://dpaste.com/713503/
Thanks
AndreasDid you ever find an answer to this? I am running into the same issue with needing to upgrade parsley to 2.4.x, but with parts of application heavily relying on cairngorm module, upgrading it from module-0.11 to 0.17 seems to break compile!

When using facebook, Firefox locks up and nothing works except a hot shutdown on Windows Vista
About twice a week, usually, but not always, when using facebook, my screen locks up, no buttons or clicks on links work and I get a message in the Firefox title bar that says: "Firefox not responding". I'm running Windows Vista Home Premium on a Toshiba Satellite laptop and the only other window open is my email account on GoDaddy, but this happens even when that is not open. My hard drive LED begins glowing steady "on" when this occurs when usually it is flashing or not glowing at all. It frequently happens when changing facebook pages or trying to close facebook. Sometimes I get a "wait" hourglass, sometimes not. I have tried leaving the computer alone to let it sort out on it's own, and I have tried machine gun tapping on the "close" button. Either way the only resolution is a hot shutdown (hold down the computer power button until the computer shuts down) and wait a few minutes before reboot. On reboot, the same facebook page will open automatically and sometimes will lock up again when I try to close that window. On more rare occasions this lockup happens on sites other than facebook. My computer guru has looked at my setup and tells me my computer is fine and virus free. Since I'm a computer doof I don't know what he is talking about. Any ideas? Is there a difference between a "crash" and a "lockup" or do they mean the same thing?
The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information.
Note: ''This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.''
To Reset Firefox do the following:
#Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
#Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
#Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
#Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.

I'm using JDev 11.1.1.6 and when I type a value into an af:inputListOfValues component and hit either the enter key or the tab key it will replace the value I entered with the first item in the LOV result set. If enter a value and just click out of the af:inputListOfValues component it works correctly. If I use the popup and search for a value it works correctly as well. I have a programmatic view object which contains a single transient attribute (this is the view object which is used to create the list of value component from) and then I have another entity based view object which defines one of its attributes as a list of value attribute. I tried using an entity based view object to create the LOV from and everything works as expected so I'm not sure if this is a bug when using programmatic view objects or if I need more code in the VOImpl. Also, it seems that after the first time of the value being replaced by the first value in the result set that it will work correctly as well. Below are some of the important code snippets.
Also, it looks like it only doesn't work if the text entered in the af:inputListOfValues component would only have a single match returned in the result set. For instance given the result set in the code: Brad, Adam, Aaron, Fred, Charles, Charlie, Jimmy
If we enter Cha, the component works as expected
If we enter A, the component works as expected
If we enter Jimmy, the component does not work as expected and returns the first value of the result set ie. Brad
If we enter Fred, the component does not work as expected and returns the first value of the result set ie. Brad
I also verified that I get the same behavior in JDev 11.1.1.7

It seems that when using a programmatic view object which has a transient attribute as its primary key you need to override more methods in the ViewObjectImpl so that it knows how to locate the row related to the primary key when the view object records aren't in the cache. This is why it would work correctly sometimes but not all the time. Below are the additional methods you need to override. The logic you use in retrieveByKey would be on a view object by view object basis and would be different if you had a primary key which consisted of more than one attribute.
@Override
protected Row[] retrieveByKey (ViewRowSetImpl viewRowSetImpl, Key key, int i) {
return retrieveByKey(viewRowSetImpl, null, key, i, false);
@Override
protected Row[] retrieveByKey (ViewRowSetImpl viewRowSetImpl, String string, Key key, int i, boolean b) {
RowSetIterator usersRowSetIterator = this.createRowSet(null);
Row[] userRows = usersRowSetIterator.getFilteredRows("UserId", key.getAttribute(this.getAttributeIndexOf("UserId")));
usersRowSetIterator.closeRowSetIterator();
return userRows;
@Override
protected Row[] retrieveByKey (ViewRowSetImpl viewRowSetImpl, Key key, int i, boolean b) {
return retrieveByKey(viewRowSetImpl, null, key, i, b); -
CVI under W2K crashes when using stop in debug mode and AOGenerateWaveforms
When using AOGenerateWaveforms to generate a sine wave. If you hit stop in debug the PC restarts. If you're using the same channel to generate a DC signal, it's fine. Seems to be the card accessing the dynamic memory I've set the waveform up in after you hit stop and the memory has been free'd.
This is sometimes the nature of the beast. When your program is running you are doing DMA transfers to locations in memory that have been setup by your operating system. Now if you stop your program, with out killing or stopping the DAQ device it will cause you problems in some cases. You need to call AOClearWaveforms before you stop your program.
If you do not stop the DAQ device, before stopping your program it will cause the DAQ device to write to memory that is no longer allocated for that process. In most cases windows detects this as an error and reboots the system, because it thinks a program has crashed and is now writing to memory locations out of its designated space.
I hope this helps.

Honestly I'm not sure if these began just after I updated FF to the current release, but it's been happening for at least 2 weeks. The arrow keys and page up and page down keys all work as if I'm pressing the 'home' and 'end' keys on my keyboard. This is only when using FF. Please contact me if you need more clarification. Thanks in advance!

Incorrect Results When Using an In-Line View and User Function in 10g
My developers are complaining of incorrect Select statement results when using an in-line view along with a user defined function. Below is the statement:
select test_f(wo1)
from
(SELECT a.WORK_ORDER_NBR, b.work_order_nbr wo1/*, facility_f(A.FACILITY),
A.PLANNER, A.WO_STATUS, mil_date(A.WO_STATUS_DATE)*, A.WORK_ORDER_TYPE,
A.WO_DESCRIPTION
FROM TIDWOWRK A, TIDWOTSK B
WHERE B.WORK_ORDER_NBR(+) = A.WORK_ORDER_NBR))
where wo1 is null;
Test_f() is a user defined function and the above query returns thousands of rows. It should return 308 rows. It is apparent that the target database is not evaluating the "where wo1 is null;" clause.
select to_char(wo1)
from
(SELECT a.WORK_ORDER_NBR, b.work_order_nbr wo1/*, facility_f(A.FACILITY),
A.PLANNER, A.WO_STATUS, mil_date(A.WO_STATUS_DATE)*, A.WORK_ORDER_TYPE,
A.WO_DESCRIPTION
FROM TIDWOWRK A, TIDWOTSK B
WHERE B.WORK_ORDER_NBR(+) = A.WORK_ORDER_NBR))
where wo1 is null;
In the above query return 308 rows. The user function was replaced by an Oracle function. The Where clause is now evaluated correctly.
The query is executed from an Oracle 10g R2 database and retrieves data from a 9.2.0.6 database.
I've seen a little information on Metalink. It appears that there was some trouble in 9i, but were fixed in a 9.2.0.6 patch. I don't see any information about a 10.2.0.2 database.
Anyone have any experiences or a successful solution. I suspect that I will need to report this to Oracle and wait for a patch.
Thanks,
JohnI can only think of two reasons for this behaviour:
1) You are executing these two queries from two different users and there is some policy on the table.
2) The function doesn't do an upper, but returns null a lot of times, even when the input is a not null value, like this:
SQL> create table tidwowrk
2 as
3 select 1 id, 'A' work_order_nbr, 'DST' facility from dual union all
4 select 2, null, 'TRN' from dual union all
5 select 3, 'C', 'DST' from dual
6 /
Tabel is aangemaakt.
SQL> create table tidwotsk
2 as
3 select 'A' work_order_nbr from dual union all
4 select 'B' from dual
5 /
Tabel is aangemaakt.
SQL> create or replace function test_f (a in varchar2) return varchar2
2 is
3 begin
4 return case a when 'A' then null else a end;
5 end;
6 /
Functie is aangemaakt.
SQL> select count(*)
2 from ( SELECT a.WORK_ORDER_NBR
3 , test_f(b.work_order_nbr) wo1
4 FROM TIDWOWRK A
5 , TIDWOTSK B
6 WHERE B.WORK_ORDER_NBR(+) = A.WORK_ORDER_NBR
7 and a.facility in ('DST', 'TRN', 'SUB')
8 )
9 where wo1 is null
10 /
COUNT(*)
3
1 rij is geselecteerd.
SQL> select count(*)
2 from ( SELECT a.WORK_ORDER_NBR
3 , to_char(b.work_order_nbr) wo1
4 FROM TIDWOWRK A, TIDWOTSK B
5 WHERE B.WORK_ORDER_NBR(+) = A.WORK_ORDER_NBR
6 and a.facility in ('DST', 'TRN', 'SUB')
7 )
8 where wo1 is null
9 /
COUNT(*)
2
1 rij is geselecteerd.Regards,
Rob.
