Make sure you have pressed the plug completely into the headphones jack. There is a definite "click" when fully seated, and you may need to push harder than expected.

G5 fans run at full speed when used at one home but not at another!?
When I use my G5 dual 2Ghz at my house in Atlanta, GA in runs smooth and quiet. When I use it at my house in Rome, GA it starts out fine but the fans ramp up to full speed in about ten minutes. The internal temps are within limits in both locations. The wall sockets are all properly polarized. Any ideas?

It works fine except the the fans seem to have thermal run away to max speed after approximately 5 minutes.
If I restart or sleep 3 or 4 times, it seems to work OK after that with no speeding up of the fans.
Monitoring program Istat pro, does not show the fans in its display when the fault is happening . . . . . but the fans appear in the monitor window when its working OK.
Please tell me if the voltages you use in America and Italy are as I expect (110v 60 Hz US / 220v50 Hz in Italy).
Perhaps its a voltage thing between Europe and America.
........ I intend to try a 110v transformer just to see.

when printing from aperture my margins are unequal, even if i set my margins they come out bigger one side and not the other. i am using a macbook pro running osx lion and printing with a canon pro 9000.
please can anbody help or advise?You didn't mention any color calibration being done on your monitor. This is an essential part of any color-correct workflow. What are you using to calibrate your monitor (and your printer)?
Print profiles (for soft-proofing as well as printing) are for specific combinations of paper & printer. The nine you have are each, most likely, for a common paper (perhaps mfr'd by Canon) to be used with your printer.
I don't know what you mean when you say "I choose a high standard print option".

Yes there is a rotation lock setting.
First try the switch above the volume rocker. If that doesnt work then double click the home button. It should display a multitasking bar at the bottom of the screen. Slide that to the right and it should display a few settings including screen lock. Make sure that it is unchecked. -

There are many possible causes for this issue. Take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. Some may not apply to your model. Back up all data before making any changes.
1. Start with the steps recommended in this support article. Don't skip any of the steps. It's the starting point for further efforts to solve the problem.
2. Run Software Update and make sure you have a fully up-to-date installation of OS X.
3. If you've installed an application called "Memory Clean" or any other third-party software that is supposed to "clean" or "purge" memory automatically, remove it according to the developer's instructions and restart. You should do that even if the software is not causing the problem, because it's useless.
4. Other third-party software that has been reported to interfere with sound output includes "Boom" and "Samsung Kies." If applicable, uninstall according to the developer's instructions (not by dragging something to the Trash.)
5. If an AirPlay device is selected for sound output from iTunes (or from other applications via third-party software such as "Airfoil"), deselect it.
6. Launch the application "Audio MIDI Setup" by entering the first few letters of its name in a Spotlight search and selecting it in the results (it should be at the top.) Select Built-in Output from the list on the left. If the Mute boxes are checked, uncheck them.
7. If a red light is visible in the audio-out port when sound should be playing, the internal switch is stuck in the position for digital output. You may be able to free it by inserting and removing a mini-stereo jack of the proper size. Inserting any kind of tool in the port may cause damage that won't be covered by the warranty.
If there's no red light, the switch may still be stuck in the headphone position. Try to free it the same way.
8. Disconnect all wired peripherals except keyboard and mouse, if applicable. If more than one display is connected, disconnect all extra ones. Restart and test.
9. If you have a MacBook Air, turn off Bluetooth and restart.
10. Start up in safe mode. Don't log in; just restart as usual when the login screen appears. When you do, make sure the words "Safe Boot" do notappear in the login screen. If they do, the system is still in safe mode and sound won't work.
11. Reset the NVRAM.
12. Reset the SMC.
13. Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:

Services ▹ Reveal in Finder (or just Reveal)

Using Firefox (and having ZoneAlarm), when logging into my work email (Lotus Notes) through a secure Citrix program, a question mark types as and accented "E". This does not happen when using IE (which I prefer not to use). I have turned off the anti-keylogger in ZA (an old, and no longer successful fix). Can anyone help? I need my question marks at work.

Is it possible to zoom in photos when using airplay? It seems not to work at all. I can only zoom in if i use mirroring and even then i have to reconnect mirroring each time I chage an albumor even go from the photo to the album level.

I have been trying to create a multicam clip from two camera's. They sync properly when using the sync feature but not when I use the multicam feature does anyone know what I may be doing wrong?
Probably best if you could post screen shots of the Inspecror window in extended view with a couple of the clips you using for the 2 angles.
If you have audio from both cameras and have identified them separately, the sync is usually pretty reliable.

In Inspector, select the Graphic Inspector. Choose, from the Fill options, Image Fill. Select the image from the dropdown and click Open. Now go back to Inspector and click on Scale to Fit. Choose from the options in the window. There are a number of them which should address your problem:
With the Blog template, you will probably need to insert a text box over the stock placement frame and work with that instead.

Fizzy and hissing sound when using earphone...
I have a Macbook Pro 13 inches 2009. I use my earphone to listen music. However, when I don't play music, I can hear a fizzy and hissing sound from my earphone. I tried to use another one but there is still fizzy and hissing sound when no music is playing. I can hear that even clearer when my room is silent. I feel really annoyed about that sound.
If anyone knows how to fix it, please let me know. Any helps are appreciating...

P/S: I'm not sure if it's a software issue or hardware issue.The problem is when I dont play music, there is still fizzy and hissing sound on my earphone. Only when I play music, the music is louder than that sound so I just hear music in that time. However, when I dont play music, there is always fizzy sound on my earphone. I already said it always happens when I put my earphone jack on Macbook Pro.

One day when using my duel display the second monitor decided it wouldn't display at full resolution in the middle of doing something i was confused. I use a mini display to hdmi then hdmi to the second monitor. I thought maybe the converter or cable died. I bought another another mini display to hdmi and tried another hdmi cord and the same issue. My roommate has macbook pro as well so i decided to see if it was the monitor, when i pluged the mini display converter into his and used the external monitor it displayed perfectly not below resolution. Doing this I knew it was not the monitor or the mini display to hdmi or the hdmi cable. I took it into the genuis bar assuming now that it was my grapics card or logic board. When the genuis went to duel screen it on a cinema display it displayed perfectly. So went home tried to duel screen it again and still not displaying at full resolution. That is where I am stuck, in summary:
My screen used to display perfect resolution on a second monitor and suddenly did not.
Tested two mini display to hdmi and hdmi cords both were fine.
Tested to see if monitor was issue but displayed perfectly when i used roommates laptop.
Went to genius bar and displayed perfectly on second monitor so it can display perfect resolution on apples monitors but will not do so anymore on my monitor, even though roommates macbook pro will display perfect resolution on my monitor.
I am beyond confused.Apparently you have tried everything except - take the monitor in question to the Apple Store along with your computer. If it works there, the mystery continues.
