I wish we had FIOS here. I've already dumped the phone company and would dump the cable company too.
Yeah, we pretty much only watch shows we can get from iTunes (my first choice), and as a last resort I EyeTV record it from cable. If you want to run digital cable to the EyeTV you'll need a different setup since there's a cable box involved. You'll need some applescript to change the channel via a custom infrared remote controller.
I don't think the cable companies have even noticed. I feel the same about the local TV station. I'm not sure who's watching them anymore.

You have to connect the iPod to the PC and sync it to get the songs in the device. You will only get your music in your iPod automatically if you have purchased your songs in the iTunes Store and Automatic Downloads are enabled in your iPod

Are you getting this messages in iPhoto? If so try the following (again?):
Log out of iCloud in the System/iCloud preference pane and disable Photo Stream in iPhoto's Photo Share preference pane. Then log back in and re-enable, respectively. That should jump start Photo Stream.

Thanks @ KiltedTim, but losing "only" any data is really not acceptable and, in this case, the phone had not been backed up, but thanks for taking the time. Also, yes, fungible means what I think it means. An iphone is a completely substitutible commodity, unlike my data, so instructions that inform me as to how to fix a phone I could replace for a small sum of money while failing to address the more important issue of the data are almost useless - they potentially save me the $99 it would cost me to replace the phone if I were so inclined to trust another apple product. Not worth the hour it took to find them or the 35 minutes on the phone to confirm my suspicions about the data.

I can no longer print using wifi. I have to connect a USB cable to print. Setup and pref show that I should be able to print wireless but I keep getting printer not found msg when trying.

I can no longer print via wifi. I could at one time but now I have to connect to printer with USB. All settings appear correct in printer and macbook. Sys pref shows printer with green light next to idle. Sending a print prompt results in "searching for printer, printer not found, ensure printer is turned on". I have reinstalled printer in my print list and reinstalled printer software on macbook. Kodak 5250 AiO printer shows it's configured for and on wifi channel. I go online with laptop using wireless but cannot print. Help!

If you know the IP address of the printer, then you can check if there is a working path between the Mac and printer. This can be done using Network Utility or a web browser.
If you open Network Utility and select the Ping tab, you can enter the IP address of the Kodak and then press the Ping button. If there is a working connection then you should get a reply to each packet sent.
With the web browser, many devices have a built-in web server so you can type the IP address of the printer into the browser and if there is a working connection then you will open the printers web page.
So, are you able to confirm you have a working connection between the Mac and printer?

Sometimes my keyboard becomes unresponsive when using Photoshop CS6, & I have to restart

Since I upgraded to Photoshop CS6, I've found that every once in a while the keyboard becomes unresponsive. I can't tell whether anything specific that I'm doing triggers it, but I'll be editing an image and will press a shortcut key and find it doesn't work. It doesn't happen when I first open up an image, but usually after I've been working for a while. As far as I can tell (it's pretty random) it seems to happen when I'm using a tool to apply an effect to an image, like this last time it happened when I'd been using the Spot Healing Brush repeatedly on a photograph. (Of course that could be correlation without causality, since I'm a big fan of the Spot Healing Brush and tend to use it quite a bit whenever I'm editing photos). Note that the modifier keys still function, but all of the letter and number keys are unresponsive.
Sometimes - and lately it seems like it happens always, there's a sound associated with the shut off. It's possible that the times I didn't hear the sound I had my speakers off. It's a brief clicking noise - and I don't think it's any of the built-in alert sounds on my Mac, since I just listened to all of them and I recall this sound being different - but the sound is definitely coming from my speakers and is not a mechanical sound from the machine. I have no idea what might be causing this. I saw someone complaining of this a couple of years ago, who thought it might have to do with a Wacom tablet. I own one, but don't always use it, and this happens even when I'm not using it. The only way I've found to get my keyboard responding again is to shut down Photoshop and restart.
I'm on a Macbook Pro, 2.66 GHz Intel Core i7, with 8GB Ram; I'm on OS X 10.7.4 (not quite ready to upgrade to Mountain Lion).

Okay - it looks like I've solved my own problem after a few hours searching for related problems on the web. It's not a problem with Photoshop but with Mac OS X. The default "Universal Access" mouse and trackpad preferences were set to "Press the Option Key five times to turn Mouse Keys On or Off." So when I use a tool that I'm modifying with the option key, and I use it repeatedly five times in a row, I hear the clicking sound that means turn on "Mouse Keys" (and turn off the regular keys). Turn off that option, and the problem is solved!

Aperture Vaults... Should you use it if you have the Timemachine?

I use the MAC Timemachine now I have upgraded to Leopard. Should I also Vault my images in aperture. Seems like doubling a double but I wonder how the AP library works with the timemachine. Any words of wisdom would be much appreciated. My thanks in advance.

I doubt today's TM update addresses the issue.
The key thing is that Aperture uses an embedded SQLite database to store information about the adjustments. The database has transactions and a journal. If Time Machine comes along and backs up the Aperture database while a transaction is open and not committed, or there is otherwise some info in the logs which has not been flushed to disk (this is done to make Aperture faster -- people like faster... see complaints about how older versions were slow ) and then you later try to restore the database... the database could be in an "unknown state" and could not be restored cleanly. Backups that cannot be reliably restored are... well... worthless.
iPhoto doesn't have the same issue because it operates totally different. iPhoto doesn't use a SQLite database to store info on changes to RAW files... iPhoto generates JPEG files and physically saves the JPEGs every time you make a change. If TM comes along and backs it up during a save... then during a restore you just get a JPEG with one fewer adjustment... no big deal, compared to a corrupt library.
This "difficult to back up the database" issue affects all products that work similarly... Adobe's Lightroom actually has the exact same issue (and in fact also uses the SQLite database to store adjustments).
Note, this is not "completely undocumented and unrecognized by Apple..." if you go to Apple's knowledge base (where I showed my link above) it is documented. And it has been discussed and clarified in these forums tens of times in the past 5 months. Sorry about that rock you're hiding under
