When using Firefox for the 1st time, I was unable to save or edit bookmarks. I fixed this but now the icon for the bookmark is a blank dotted square. How do I fix this?

I deleted the "places.sqlite" and "localstore" files as instructed in the support FAQ section, and now i can save bookmarks, but in the Bookmarks toolbar and drop down menu, the only bookmark that has an icon(picture) next to the name of the bookmark is one that I use the IE Tab extension for due to incompatibility of that website with Firefox. This one does have an Internet Explorer Icon. The rest are just a blank dotted square where the icon should be. I downloaded Firefox 8 first and was having this problem, so I tried Aurora, which I am using now but got the same problem. The below support instructions solved the problem of not being able to save Bookmarks, but now I am having the icon issue.

Sounds like the Time Machine Local Backup. Try turning Time Machine Off in System Preferences to verify.

But, your real problem is
I forgot to mention that I tried to use Disk Utility to Verify Disk, but it cannot. I get red errors that say the MacHD is corrupt and needs to be repaired. It says that in order to do this I need to use the Disk Utility on the install disk, but Lion doesn't have one!
Boot into Lion's Recovery (Hold ⌘R on Boot), select Disk Utility and then select Macintosh HD and click [Repair Disk]

Help!! - "The HP Scan Application was unable to save the file to the specified location."

New OJ6830, latest HP software installed on Win7 64 bit.
HP Scan scans and displays the scanned pages. But, when I try to save the file as a pdf or tiff, I get the following error message:
"The HP Scan Application was unable to save the file to the specified location."
BTW, I have tried running the app as Administrator and have disabled my antivirus software.
Why won't the HP scan app save the file? Has anyone else seen this error message?
Is there anything else I can do, or this this just a major bug in HP scan software?

Make sure you have "San Preview" checked else the software will not accept "specified location".

I tried downloading the Creative Cloud and tried both settings, save to the cloud and do not save to the cloud. Either way I cannot save my work and I am stuck. Any help would be appreciated. Sorry, but I don't understand. PSE has nothing at all to do with creative cloud. If you're saying that you can't save work in any program, that's probably something wrong with your OS X installation. If you just are having a problem in PSE, the first thing to do is to go to the editor's preferences>general, click this button, and restart the editor:

"The HP scan application was unable to save the file to the specified location. "

I can copy and print from my computer but when I try to save the scan I get an error message saying the HP app was unable to save the file to the specified location. I reloaded the cd and that did not help.

Need to back up hard drive due to needed replacement. Time machine is available to back up to external hard drive. Not clear how to do this and then to restore once the hard drive is replaced.

I would not use Time Machine for this task. Rather I suggest you clone to the external drive. You can then boot from the external drive to restore your clone. First, purchase Carbon Copy Cloner.
Clone using Carbon Copy Cloner
1. Open Carbon Copy Cloner.
2. Select the Source volume from the left side dropdown menu.
3. Select the Destination volume from the right side dropdown menu.
4. Click on the Clone button.
5. When completed select Disk Center from the Window menu.
6. Click on the Recovery HD tab then select the backup drive from the list.
7. Click on the button labeled "Create a Recovery partition for this volume."
Destination means the external backup drive. Source means the internal startup drive.
You now have a fully bootable copy of your iMac's hard drive. When you receive your iMac back after the drive replacement you can boot it from this backup and use Carbon Copy Cloner to restore the backup from the external drive to the internal drive. The process is identical except you will switch the Source and Destination volumes - Source will be the external drive; Destination will be the internal drive.
Because the newly installed drive will most likely have OS X installed you can skip Steps 5-7. You can now continue to use your external backup drive by setting up scheduled backups with CCC. No need to use Time Machine.

When using Firefox as my browser, why am I unable to print web page content?

I can print just fine when I use internet explorer as my browser, so I know the printer is working. I have uninstalled and reinstalled my printer software, updated Mozilla, and Adobe. When I am using firefox, the printer will only print the web address at the top right corner, and the date , time and page number at the bottom. What do I do next?

I owned the Creative Suites prior to the cloud. I did the cloud for 1 year, no longer can afford this but now my product that I owned seems to have disappeared. How do I get it back?

Firefox 6 crashes every time I try to start it, safemode aswell. 5 worked perfectly but now I can't download 5 again

Firefox automatically downloaded and installed version 6 without my authorisation and now it has stopped working. I can't get it to run in safemode either. I have tried a total uninstall and reinstall but I get the same problem. Every time I select it a small crash window appears instead of the browser that asks me to report the crash. Now I can't find a link to re download version 5.

Okay, there are two accounts on one computer, and my account is the main one though ever since, I've been having issues with downloading new songs and apps onto my iPod touch. Not only that but now all of my music's gone from my library. How can I fix it?

Has anyone ever had this problem before? I would love some advice on how to restore my library with all my music. I have 841 songs on my iPod touch and yet my iTunes library on my account says I have none, ever since my sister made her account on my laptop and some of her songs have gotten on mine (the main) account. Not only that but my iTouch doesn't seem to want to accept any other songs outside of its list. Any advice?

My usb hub, being usb2, was too fast. I moved the wire to a usb port directory on my pc. That is a usb1 port which is slow enough to run your snyc.

No. Quit and try again. If that fails again,
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .
