When using Mail in Yosemite, if I send a mail with an attachment it goes but doesn't appear in SENT folder or anywhere - help?
Since upgrading to Yosemite it has been a problem, the sent message with attachment seems to disappear from the mail even though I know it does go as I have tested sending to another email of mine - it's frustrating as I send out a fair few emails with attachments on for work. When scrolling back through emails that I still have on the system that I sent before updating OS X I can still see the emails that I sent with attachments back then... any ideas?
Because Apple sends it to a Rescue Email address that you are supposed to setup or already have. In case of the latter you need to check the rescue email.

If you purchased about 2 years ago new I am sure it is a Intel iMac. To find out what type of iMac you have just click on the Apple menu item in the finder and select about this Mac. I would check the ISP mail site and get the correct outgoing mail server info.

When I send an email with bcc recipients, the bcc does not show in my sent mail so I can't reference back later who I sent the email to. Worked in Snow Leopard but not in Yosemite. Please advise if their is fix for that.
Did you select View->Bcc Address Field from the menu bar?

When I am on my home wifi I can send e-mail. When I am not on my home e-mail but on a wifi network or using the 3g network I cannot send e-mail. HELP HOW TO FIX.
I know this question is a few years old now, but I recently found myself having the exact same issues;
Using my iphone or ipad at home created no problems at all, but I couldn't send e mails when away from my home network.
I recently switched broadband supplier at home and set up a new e mail address, then my problems began!
I openly admit I'm not great with technology and, to be honest, some of the answers provided on these forums confuse me more than the questions!
But this worked for me:
I went along the lines that the fault wasn't with my idevice but possibly with the broadband provider (in my case Plusnet) so I contacted their customer support.
They referred me to the set up process shown below;
From your home screen press Settings.
From the setting menu, choose Mail, Contacts, Calendars followed by Add Account…
From the Add Account… menu choose Other.
Fill in your Full Name, Email Address, Password and Description and press Next.If you need help with these, there's more detail underneath the screenshot.
Full name: Enter your name (or the name you'd like people to see when you send them email)
Email Address: Enter the address you're setting up, this could be a Plusnet address ([email protected]) or a hosted domain address ([email protected])
Password: Enter the password for your email address (I don't know what this is)
Description: Enter a useful description of the email address you're setting up (e.g. Mum's email). You can put whatever you want here
Press Next to continue.
More settings will appear. Some will already be filled in.Enter the Incoming and Outgoing Mail Server details and press Next. If you need help with these, there's more detail underneath the screenshot.
IMAP/POP This will default to IMAP - it's up to you which one you want to use (I don't know what to choose)
Incoming Mail Server settings
Host Name: For IMAP this is imap.plus.net - for POP, this is mail.plus.net
User Name & Password: Enter the username and password for the email address you're setting up (I don't know what these are)
Outgoing Mail Server settings
Host Name: relay.plus.net
User Name & Password: These are optional, but if you want to send mail while on the move (e.g. while connected to mobile or wireless networks), we recommend filling these in.Enter the username and password for the email address you're setting up (I don't know what these are)
When you're finished, press Next.
If the box shown below appears, press Yes (you may need to do this twice).
After a minute or two, your email address will be set up and ready to use.If you chose IMAP when setting up you’ll be able to choose whether you want to use Notes (if you chose POP you’ll be taken back to the settings screen from step 2). Press Save when you’re done.
That's all you need to do. To start checking your email, go back to your home screen and press Mail.
Now I fully understand that it may be different for each broadband provider but the processes must be similar.
The key appears to be in setting up the outgoing message server settings in step 5. Where it says "optional, but if you want to send mail while on the move (e.g. while connected to mobile or wireless networks), we recommend filling these in.

Where it says "we recommend" I think it should read "you must fill these in"
I went back to Settings - Mail,Contacts, Calenders - click on the offending account and click on the account shown.
Under OUTGOING MAIL SERVER click on the server, in my case relay.plus.net, and click again to show the details. make sure you enter your user name and password and after a few seconds the account will verify and show a load of ticks.
I tried this on my phone this morning while on 3G only. I sent an email to another of my addresses and immediately got the response that the message couldn't be sent as the recipient was rejected and the message had been placed in my Outbox. I followed the above steps and immediately heard the satisfying "whoosh" as my mail was sent. 10 seconds later another satisying beep as my e mail arrived at my alternate account.

When using OS X yosemite 10.10.2 trying to access a web page I get sever error 403
When using OS X yosemite 10.10.2 and trying to access a web site I get the message server error 403 only with one site (loan application)
Web server error 403 = Forbidden - It's nothing to do with Yosemite nor Safari. The web server may be having a problem. Usually it's a permissions issue on the server side. But one thing that can happen is that you have a bookmark that is pointing somewhere that is not allowed. Try navigating to the page from the root of the server. You might have to start at an earlier authentication page then navigate to the "loan application" page. It's possible you bookmarked a page that requires authentication and the web server loan application software was not written in a friendly manner to redirect you back to a login page. Also try clearing your cache and cookies. Safari menu -> Clear History and Website Data. You might have an old cookie that needs to be deleted.

When I send an email with an attachment larger than 1 MB from iMail, the email gets suck in the sent folder. This happens no matter if I am using wireless or using an ethernet connection.
Many email programs, including Mail, will send data up to a certain size.
The good new - there are some solutions. You can compress the file and make the email much faster to send; you can download a free application like Compress, which also allows you to uncompress. Or, you can send your email via your webmail connection (your ISP, like ATT); if you manage your email through your desktop computer, the email should be sent just fine.
Apple Mail is designed for smaller documents, well under 1mb. -
when i go onto iPhoto and choose a photo to send via email, i click send and the photo is sent and received but doesn't appear in my email sent items ?
This is not the iPhoto forum. In any case in iPhoto>Preferences select Mail or whatever email program you are using to email as the desired choice. You are probably sending directly through iPhoto.

Yahoo app on iPhone seems to be sending spam to all my yahoo contacts. I know this because my "Sent" folder on my app shows i sent it out at 5 AM this morning and I was not using my phone at that time.

When I click attach when sending an email with an attachment I get a dropdown that says "single image" or "default multiple". I choose one. Nothing happens as far as offering a choice as to what doc or photo to attach. I continue between the attach and attachment and still nothing .What do i need to do?

I am trying to create a simple animated gif in Photoshop. I've set up my frames and want to use the tween to make the transitions less jerky. When I tween between frame 1 and frame 2 the object in frame two goes out of position, appearing in a different place than where it is on frame 2. Confused!
Hi Melissa - thanks for your interest. Here's the first frame, the second frame and the tween frame. I don't understand why the tween is changing the position of the object in frame 2, was expecting it to just fade from one frame to the next.

I keep getting "undelivered mail returned to sender" that comes with an attachment. i do not open the attachment but i get email returned from people that i have not emailed in years. I also have current people that tell me they receive email from me and there is nothing on the email and it is a repetative thing for them and for me. I have scanned my computer and it keeps telling me there are no viruses but i keep getting these emails. can anyone help me please!
Someone is probably sending spam with your address forged on the To: line. Could be one of your old contacts with a Windows machine has a virus that's doing it. It's also possible your e-mail account has been hacked, though I'd think such a hacker would be a bit more purposeful.

When using the Pencil, I need to be able to draw an organic dotted line, but there is a shortcut in place that connects the dots because I'm double clicking. How do I get rid of this shortcut?
What is the purpose of the double click? If you click once to deposit each mark in sequence the dots should not join. However, if you click once to create the first mark, then hold down the Shift key, each subsequent mark with the Shift key held down will join the dots and create a line.

Have you tried trashing your preferences in FCP? Trashing FCP prefs is usually the first step when FCP is performing strangely.
