When using Windows 8 version 64 bit, and installing Adobe Reader I receive error 1500.

Error 1500 using Windows 8 version 64 bit when installing Reader

Is there anything else beside the number 1500?
Try using the offline installer from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/

  • Unable to download and install Adobe Reader

While trying to download and install Adobe Reader, when I click on OPEN, nothing happens.  When I click on SAVE, I receive the message download failed.  When I retry, a file is downloaded; however, I am unable to open the file.  I am using Windows 8 and Internet Explorer 11.

I am using WIN XP PRO SP 3.0 32 bit on a desktop....
I have tried 3 times to re-install Adobe Reader for Windows, but it keeps on telling me that the installation was unsuccessful...I have tried to find out more, I seem to have met all the requirements, and yes I tried that link, too.....
Any ideas? I know this Q & A was last year,  but maybe you might have found an answer for me, as I uninstalled my current version before I started, now I wish I had left it alone....but I was trying to fix another problem on Firefox, which said I had to re-install anything from Adobe, to see if it would fix my little problem, now I have a bigger problem!!
The 1st problem was I cannot upload pics on Facebook, now I find I cannot upload a pic for Adobe, (on my profile page)!!!! I can still insert/upload a pic on Word, however....
I do hope you might be able to help me, as I am a novice when it comes to fixing problems....
    Many thanks....Peace & Love
    Sylvia

If you haved tried all the fixes and suggestions, there is not much to add. Just in case: did you really try using this tool http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html to first eliminate all traces of Reader, and then use the full offline installer from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/?

It is unbelievable to me that Adobe would broadcast a flawed product like this.

    Hmm,
I checked self-extractor (Exe version from the link below) and it has proper OS and RAM levels set in the configuration file - no SP
I would advise to try MSI version from the link below:

  • I am trying to download and install adobe reader, but it is not working. Everytime I try, I get the download but when I try to install it, it goes somewhere but not on my screen for me to install. If I try to install again, it says only one copy can be in

I am trying to download Adobe Reader, I have Windows 7 on my PC. Every time I get the download, I click on it to install the program, and I get the usual messages but I never get the install message. When I try the download again, I get a message telling me only one copy of the program can go on the computer. When I check the program list, it is not there. I have to restore my computer before I can attempt the download and install again. I have tried this at least 6 times but cannot install Adobe Reader. Please help me out with this. I really like this product and prefer to use it. I had o originally delete the program, due to an update conflict.

You can try using this tool to first remove all traces of Reader from your computer:
    http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html
Then, you can download the full offline Reader installer from
    http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/
After downloading, restart your computer and run the installer before doing anything else.

  • Problems downloading and installing Adobe Reader X

I had problems with Adobe Reader X (couldn't print pdf documents, very slow opening and sometimes didn't open) so uninstalled it from my computer to see if downloading the latest version would get rid of the issues.   I am running Windows Vista Home Basic.
I am unable to install Adobe Reader X - it gets to a point where it should be installed and I get an error 1303 message, telling me that I need to log in as administrator (which I am).  When I retry the installation, I keep getting the same message.  What can I do?   I have quite a number of pdf documents that I now can't even open and read.
Many thanks in advance for any help that's there!

You can try using this tool to remove all traces of previous version(s) of Reader:

  • I have a new Window 7 version computer,  I cannot download Adobe Reader.  error 1316.A

I have a new Window 7 Version Computer.
When I try to download Adobe Reader.  I get an error 1316.A.  What
am I doing wrong.    Is this compatable with Widows 7?

It could be that the Adobe Acrobat trial came pre-installed on your machine.
Best thing to do is to go to add/remove programs, remove Acrobat (and Reader if it exists) then try your install again.
It also might be a good idea to run the Microsoft Installer Cleanup Utility (I think they have a version for Win 7 anyway) and use it to remove any leftover pieces before trying the install.

  • Downloading and installing Adobe Reader

How exactly are you trying to download it and from where? Please also detail what happens when you try.

  • Problems with File Information and installing Adobe Reader

    Dear Forum,
monthes ago I updated 10.3 to 10.4 now I have 10.4.6. Since the update I have been unable to access file Information (ie, as from key short cut: apple+I). Now I am trying to install Acrobat Reader and I cannot succeed.
Any of you can suggest me what is wrong and what should I do? Possibly without having to reinstall MacOS again?
    Thank for help!
    Marco

Your suggestion of creating a new account was useful for installing acrobat Reader.
If I understand correctly, you were able to install Acrobat Reader while logged into the new account. If so, then the problem's within the old account. Preferential Treatment is at http://homepage.mac.com/jonn8/as/html/pt.html.
my access to the update COMBO is problematic
If you can connect to the internet, get the COMBO update from http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/macosx1046comboforppc.html; it has nothing to do with the installation disk.
