  • Adobe Acrobat Pro XI problems printing PDFs created from AutoCAD.

Just installed Adobe Acrobat Pro XI and am having problems printing PDFs created from AutoCAD.  Printing other PDF created by MS Word works well.  Had a similar problem in an earlier version of Pro.  The fix I figure out then was to print the PDF file as another PDF.  Using the second PDF to print to a plotter typically worked.  It does not work for Adoabe Acrobat Pro XI.

  • Error: "The system cannot find the file specified" when trying to print to PDF w/ Acrobat 9.5

I get an Error: "The system cannot find the file specified" when trying to print to PDF w/ Acrobat 9.5 using Windows 7.  This just started happening after upgrading to MS 2013 suite and also installed Adobe Reader at that same time.
I had problems in the past when Reader was installed with Acrobat, so I uninstalled Reader, but the problem still seems to occur.
    any help would be appreciated.

Why when I e-mail a PDF form, does the recipient get a blank form?

Using Adobe to fill in. I think it may be my browser for e-mail will not support the forms. If I convert to Word or Exel, they send just fine.

It may have a bad display screen but you could try resetting to see if that helps.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds).

  • PDF created from AutoCAD will not print

    This one has me baffled.
I'm working with AutoCAD 2009 and Adobe Acrobat 8.  I printed 3 layouts from AutoCAD to Acrobat as a C-size sheet.  I usually merge them into one multi-page file using Acrobat.  All 3 .PDFs were created with no errors and can be viewed on the screen.
I went to print this 3 page file to an HP DesignJet 500.  The first 2 pages printed fine, but page 3 would not print.
So I went to the original individual file for the missing page, opened it in Acrobat - it also would not print to the HP 500.  BUT - it WOULD print to my HP 2800 on an A-size (letter) sheet.
All three pages came from the same AutoCAD file.  All 3 .PDFs were created using the same settings.  Individually, only the first 2 will print to the HP 500.
I tired recreating the third file with a different file name.  Looks fine on the screen, yet when I try to print it, it does not get to the printer driver.
Yes, I have re-booted my system.  No difference.  Rebooted again and recreated the document - no change.
I figure there has to be some quirky character or entity in my AutoCAD layout that is tripping up the printer driver for the HP 500.  This is my first encounter with this kind of problem.  And yes, I do have the latest HP 500 driver installed and have created and printed 100s of AutoCAD drawings in this manner.
BTW, I'm running WIndows XP Pro.

    Michael,
I have about 19GB of free space on drive C: - your tip about "print as image" did permit the file to print to the HP 500.  This DesignJet is not a PS or PCL printer.
I've never encountered this kind of problem before.  This particular AutoCAD layout has a fair amount (but not a lot) of text that would no doubt be converted to a raster image (as it is not a system font) when processed by Acrobat during .PDF creation.
My drive D: has much more free space - is there a way of directing the printer driver to store its output to that drive?
Thanks for the tip - at least I know what to do the next time I'm up against the clock trying to get the work out.

  • Printing a PDF created in Indesign results in blurry text.

    Hello All,
I am in need of assistance.
I have created a flyer for one of my companies products in In-design.
When I print the project directly form In-design the print looks great and the text is nice and crisp.
However, when I export the project to a "Press Quality" PDF, and print it the text comes our blurry and "dirty"
I have been trying to fix this for 2 days now with no luck.
I have tried multiple different setting during the export to PDF form In-design, all resulting in the same issue.
What is strange is when I print the PDF in black and white the text look just as good as if it were printed directly from In-design in colour.
I looked around online and found allot of posts regarding this issue but no definitive results.
I have also checked the colour of the text and it is 100%K.

    What color is the text?
Can you show some screen shots?

  • When trying to print to PDF from a sales program we use it keeps throwing errors

When several people try to print to PDF from MAS90, it will save it and create a file as it normally does. However, it does not open in Acrobat 9 Pro as it normally does, and displays the famous error "Acrobat could not open 'xxxx.pdf' because it is either not a supported..."  Yet when you manually open the file from the file system, it opens just fine.
So to rehash what I just said, when I print to pdf, it asks me where to save, the notification said the printing completed, adobe opens and displays error. If you click on the file, then the file opens just fine.
However several other people do not have this error while trying to print to file from mas90. Does anyone out there have any idea what could possibly be causing this error to be displayed?

    Hi ftd12300,
Are you saving the PDFs you're creating to a network drive or are they being saved locally?
Do you have this problem when creating PDFs from other applications such as Notepad?

  • Pages disappear when viewing and printing

On our Windows 7 Professional (Service Pack 1) 64-bit computer, using the Reader application directly (not through a browser), we have been frustrated with blank pages appearing while viewing and printing.
This happens in Adobe Reader 9.5.0, 9.5.3, and 11.0.06.  (We had been experiencing these problems with 9.5.3, so uninstalled and installed 9.5.0, then updated to 11.0.06.  Same problem appears in all versions, but now is exceptionally bad in 11.0.06.   At one time we had updated to Reader 10, but reverted to Reader 9 because Reader 10 would not center pages correctly when printed, especially when Fit to Page was used.)
When we open a file, pages initially display correctly.  But when we begin to scroll back and forth from page to page, the page images start disappearing. When we print, pages may display correctly just before the print button is pressed, and then may disappear after pressing the print button. If it disappears before the print function has completed, blank pages are output.   If a multi page document, the first few pages may print correctly then blank pages.
Once a page goes blank while viewing or printing, it does not restore.  One must close the PDF file and open it again.
We have over 200 documents of 30 to 50 pages each, which are printed on a frequent basis and then bound.  It is extremely annoying and costly to have blank pages output when there should be info on the page.    We have been printing these documents for eight years.  Two years ago started using a brand new Windows 7 computer for printing PDF files, but the blank page issue started surfacing about 6 to 9 months ago and is getting more frequent.

The system has 4GB of memory.  The processor is Intel Core i5 - 2400.
As per your suggestion, I updated the driver for the integrated graphics
card (Intel Graphics HD 2000).  The new driver is dated January 2014.  The
old driver was dated June 2011.
I tried to replicate the blank pages situation, and none went blank.   Will
continue to test over the next week or so, but this looks very promising.
    Many, many thanks, Pat!

  • Help, print to pdf creates huge files!

Usually when I want to print an image created in Photoshop or Illustrator, I first print it to pdf to make a smaller file size. This has worked great for me for years, but now I have an Illustrator file which ends up much bigger (22 mb instead of 2 mb) in the pdf version, and I can see all the layers when it opens. How can I print a flattened image?

If you have layers in Illustrator with visibility off, delete them before making a .pdf.
You would think they that gets deleted before making a .pdf but they do not.
In acrobat the protection/remove hidden information also bitmaps the file, though that is not good for me, oif that is ok you iwll get your smaller file.

  • Firefox locks up and crashes when trying to print a PDF from a website?

I am using Firefox ver 3.6.13 Every time I try to print a PDF displayed on a web site Firefox locks up. If I have several tabs open all of them are locked. I have to use taskmanager to end the program and restart Firefox. To print the PDF's I have to save them then open them using Adobe reader and print that way.
I can vie the PDF within Firefox and all is good. It only locks up when I try to print. Printing any non pdf page I have no problem.

On my x64 Win 7 system, practically the whole system was frozen. After the "Print" button was pressed the dialog stating "Preparing" came up, but I had to use Cntrl+Shift+Esc to open task manager. Then I had to use keyboard arrows to select firefox.exe and Alt+E to end task and the space bar to confirm. Mouse would move, but not "click" anything. If I attempted to click anything, I had to Cntrl+Alt+Del to get to where I could "Log Off" and that forced firefox to quit.
I found my problem was an addon with improper settings. Internet Download Manager addon was loading with firefox, but in IDM's actual options, the check box to integrate IDM with Mozilla was NOT checked and the Advanced integration with browsers was also unchecked. I had been having issues with downloading from sites that do not allow 3rd party software to download, and it was taking forever holding down the key that prevented IDM from intercepting the download, so I changed the option in IDM, and I could still right click and select "download with IDM" from the context menu. Re-selecting the check box next to Mozilla fixed the problem

  • Keep getting an access denied window when trying to print to PDF with Adobe Acrobat X with any prgram/internet except for adobe programs

I am trying to print to PDF from Word, Revit, Firefox and all have given me a Access Denied window popup and would cancel the print.  I have Adobe Acrobat X and Creative Design Suite 6.

So you are trying to print to the Adobe PDF printer? What is the full statement of the error (typically it indicates a folder or such does not allow access)? If you open Distiller, are there settings files available that you can view?
In the print menu, select print to file. Then open this file in Distiller. What happens with these two steps and do you get a PDF after the second step?
