When viewing outlook emails in firefox, links open in internet explorer, not in firefox

when viewing my outlook emails in firefox, when I click on a link the new webpage is opened in internet explorer not in firefox

Thank you - that has solved the problem - links simply open in a new tab in firefox.
Marvellous.

  • When in my email, my links open into internet explorer instead of firefox

When I am in my email and a message has a link and I open the link, instead of going to firefox, it opens in internet explorer, I use firefox not internet explorer.

Hello, I'm having this exact same problem since the last few days, somethings changed on how the hotmail webpage is loading, or what it's loading, as Google chrome also reports an 'Aw-Snap' webpage error.

  • FDF file opening in Internet Explorer--not in Adobe Acrobat Professional XI

    Good morning!
I have created a form in Acrobat Professional XI and have a submit button that emails that data back as an .fdf file.  This is working as it should.
However, on some of the returned emails, the .fdf file is opening in Internet Explorer--not in the associated file in  Acrobat Professional XI.
Is this the default?  Is there a way that I can specify that it always opens in Acrobat?
I looked on line, and found where you have to associate that type of file with Acrobat
    I have Windows XP
in My Computer--in Tools, Folder Options, File Types, I have where FDF files are associated with Adobe Acrobat.
Are there other changes that need to be made?
We have a work-around--we can import the file data into the form--just takes a little longer.
I tested this before I posted the form online, and it worked perfect.  Now that it is online, we are seeing some snags...
As always--Thank you for your help!

Thank you for your quick response!
no--it is an fdf file.  Has an .fdf extension.
One difference that I have noticed that the file that is opening correctly (in acrobat) was sent from a gmail account.  The file that is opening in internet explorer was filled out in Adobe Reader XI from an outlook email.
This is the window that appears when the file is opened.
On the Tools--the only items that are accessible from this screen is the AddOnTools--not all the tools sets.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

  • Hyperlink in MS office to pdf opens in Internet Explorer instead of Firefox

I have some documents (Excel, Word) that contain hyperlinks.
Hyperlinks to websites (www.***.com or http://***.htm) nicely open in Firefox. But links to online pdf's (http://www.***.com/***.pdf) all open in Internet Explorer.
    How can I change this?
I'm using Windows XP pro, Firefox 3.0.5, Office 2003, Adobe Reader 9.0.0

I have the same problem (roughly) - I have PDF hyperlinks in an Excel spreadsheet and, when clicked, instead of them opening directly in Acrobat (or via Firefox, my default browser), they open via IE. Regular HTML links in the Excel spreadsheet open in Firefox.
I have enabled the '''Block PDF files' access to all web sites''' option under ''Trust Manager'' category in the Adobe Reader ''Preferences'' tab.
I have also disabled the '''Adobe PDF Link Helper''' Extension in the ''Manage Add-ons'' tab in IE.
Obviously, neither of these settings made any difference.

  • Photos sent in email to my firefox also open up internet explorer all updates are okay

when photos are sent to me by email when i view them in firefox internet explorer also opens up in the background mozilla is my default browser.
also difficult in windows 7 to view as slideshow or download the photos. ???

That is a know problem caused by specifying the text color as transparent in the stylesheet.<br />
Removing that color rule or specifying a color like black (#000) should fix it.

  • .pdf hyperlinks in word open in Internet Explorer instead of Firefox

I have website addresses copied and pasted into a word document, which automatically makes them a hyperlink. Normal website addresses open fine in firefox (which is my default browser) when I Ctrl+click on them. Web links to a .pdf, however, open Internet Explorer and then open in Adobe Acrobat inside Internet Explorer. How can I get .pdf links to open in Firefox when I Ctrl+click on them?

  • LLBs opening in Internet Explorer not Windows Explorer

    Labiew 7:
Having enabled the option "Enable Windows Explorer for LLB files", I've noticed that clicking LLB files actually opens the library in "Internet Explorer" rather than the "Windows Explorer", which is a minor nuisance.
Does anyone know why this might be, and is there anything that can be done about it?
I've checked the .llb file association and I can't see any way to change the "explorer" association.
Note: I'm using LabVIEW 7 on Windows XP. Some time ago,  when I was previously using NT4, I'm sure LLBs opened in Windows Explorer as expected (not Internet Explorer).
    Any ideas anyone?
    Mark.

    That's a new one.
Just out of curiosity, what does it look in IE when it opens it.
Try unchecking the option, restart Windows, then check the option again
and restart again and see if that fixes it. Somehow the association is
messed up and this might fix it.

  • Images load in internet explorer, not in firefox, why is this?

The website i am working in is www.pestcontrolprofessional.com. On the upper lefthand corner is the company's logo. This loads fine in internet explorer, but i cant get it to load on firefox. On the "AboutUs" page i also can't get the image to load in FF. I checked the html to see why and i just can't come up with an answers. I am sure it's an obvious answer. I've seen similar questions on this site but i can't find one that apply's to this particular issue. Any help is appreciated.

No problem here with that logo.
Can you open that logo directly in a tab?

If you use extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) like <i>Adblock Plus</i> or <i>NoScript</i> or <i>Flash Block</i> that can block content then make sure that such extensions aren't blocking content.
Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Press and hold Shift and left-click the Reload button.
    *Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
    *Press "Command + Shift + R" (MAC)
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
*Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.

  • How do I open an internet explorer tab from Firefox?

In older versions of Firefox, I could click on a tab and open it in IE, but I don't know how to do it in Firefox 4.

That has never been a built-in feature of Firefox, but is added by an extension such as IE Tab 2 - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/ie-tab-2-ff-36/

  • Het startscherm is waarschijnlijk niet van Firefox the opening window is probably not from firefox is my computer hacked?

ik heb gisteren het programma zoomit geïnstalleerd (vergrootglas). Ondertussen heb ik alles zo goed mogelijk weer verwijderd maar volgens mij heb ik het originele firefox-startscherm niet meer
waar vroeger Google stond staat nu Google default. Ik heb met het knipprogramma van windows een kopie van mijn startscherm gemaakt.

You can't attach a screenshot to the first post that starts a thread, but you can do that in subsequent replies.
You can use the SearchReset extension to reset some preferences to the default values.
Note that the SearchReset extension only runs once and then uninstalls automatically, so it won't show on the "Firefox > Add-ons" page (about:addons).

  • I use Earthlink mailbox, and I want my email links to open with Firefox, but they open with Internet Explorer; how to fix?

I am using Windows XP 2002 operating system; Earthlink mailbox program for email with AT&T Broadband.
I want to have Firefox as my default browser, but my email links open with Internet Explorer. I have followed the Firefox help page to set Firefox as my browser, but the problem remains.
Do you know how to fix this? Is it a problem with Earthlink?

I have Microsoft Outlook also with Firefox and can open just about every link, url, company page, etc via the email links. First, make sure you have noted the email as NOT JUNK so that the links are activated by Outlook. Second, Firefox needs to your default browser for the links to open in Firefox rather than IE. There are some links from Microsoft that may ignore the default and open in IE but not all anymore. I have a Sony laptop which ignores the default browser and opens all of its support information from its VAIO software loaded on the computer in IE. Besides that though, over 95% of my items will open in my default brwser selection, which is currently Firefox.
Go to this link to make sure Firefox is your default browser.
    http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/How+to+make+Firefox+the+default+browser?s=Make+Firefox+the+default+browser+&as=s
Or this link to make any browswer of your choice the default.
