When visiting sites (including Firefox's help page!) I am seeing double underlined links in green type randomly throughout website pages that link to a Groupon subscriber site. Is my machine compromised, or is it just Firefox 5.0?

I am using Firefox 5.0

You can block both intelliTXT and Google Ad-Sense with a hosts file and with Adblock Plus.
Having a good '''hosts''' file on your system can protect your entire system cross-application and all browsers and all your Firefox profiles against a lot malware. The '''hosts''' file must coded for www.example.com, example.com, anything.example.com -- '''Adblock Plus''' is more generic and can do more with less coding -- subscribe to the '''EasyList US''' filters as ADP will do nothing without filters. • HT201272 I just bought a new iPad. When I tap on Purchase in the App store I see all my previously purchased apps each with a little box that says open. There is no download cloud. How do I get these apps onto my home screen?

    I just bought a new iPad and the apps I had previously purchased are in the app store under Purchased. They appear with a little box that says "Open". There is no download cloud so I can't click on them to download the apps to my home screen. Is there a way to move these apps to my home screen?

    If they have 'open' next to them then that implies that they are already on your iPad - if you tap on the 'open' button does that open the app ? If it does then they are on your iPad. You've checked all your homescreens and tried a soft-reset to see if they show after the iPad has restarted : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • How do I keep music file paying continuously throughout website pages?

    I would like to have an audio file start playing on the home page and continue playing as the viewer clicks between pages. Is this possible?

    Yes, but it takes a little doing with an iFrame and HTML snippet on the first or Entry page.  See this demo site for how to do it: Continuous Audio.

  • Firefox does not show web page graphics or icons, mostly blanks or boxes with type.

    With one of the recent updates, Firefox shows web pages without the clickable graphics, such as this page (Ask a New Question) where above the details box, there are only two vertical lines. I know there should be something in those spaces, cause when I click in them something happens - like a dialogue box pops up or a word gets inserted into this typing. This is consistent on all web pages. Major photos show, just not the little graphics. Icons or graphics that are visible sometimes are offset (ex: this page has an arrow in a green box over lapping the outline of the Search Firefox Help box). Other than that, this page has only two other graphics, it's all type. Thanks.

    Make sure that you allow pages to choose their colors and that you haven't enabled High Contrast in the Accessibility settings.

  • Youtube links will have no picture on websites using firefox! Just black!

    Having different win systems (xp/win7/win8) different firefox versions and different flashplayer versions, on certain websites youtubelinks will not load (just black screen) if flash player addon is enabled. i.e. ruhm4u.com
    what´s the problem?
    Thanks for any help.

    It´s not the graphiccard drivers, as the direct youtube video sites play fine. Flash Player will just not load the embedded links to youtube videos within a website.
    The links work fine with opera or flashplayer disabled, but then quality lowers...

  • Some websites loading on my laptop as mobile device sites...tried reinstalling FF but it didn't help...what's going on?

    -Firefox version 33.0.2
    -Windows 7 Home premium operating system
    -Some (not all) websites recently started to load on my laptop as mobile device URLs. It doesn't matter if I follow a bookmark or I type in the URL. But ONLY on this one laptop (HP Pavillion I bought new in 2013) I tried the same sites on my ASUS netbook and they loaded normal). One example is the Washington Post news website. It doesn't make a difference if I allow or block cookies.
    -Unistalled & reinstalled Firefox (made sure the profile folder was deleted and replaced). It didn't help.
    -Antivirus didn't pick anything up.
    -Is this a browser problem or something else? I'd appreciate any advice. Thanks!

    After trying that for a while, if you decide you really need 150% at the Windows level, then you can adjust a Firefox setting to use 125% in Firefox. However, the explanation is a bit long, so I'll save it in case you need it.

  • How to put Flash video game onto inDesign PDF file and Website page or link?!

    I am making a video game using Adobe Flash 2.0. I need to be able to show what I have through a website (my portfolio) and/or insert it into an interactive Indesign PDF file. The game needs to be able to be played and be used and tested by whoever I send the pdf file to, or whoever is would be view my the site I post it on. I have attempted many different ways to put my game onto my website (cargocollective) and Indesign, but nothing is working! I need help.
    For example I need my game to be placed on the website page, and on the pdf document as an image. When it is clicked on I need it to start so people can play the game. I don't know how to do this and I would really love and need to know how! Thanks.

    Flash should be able to publish an html page which will provide the web page code needed for embedding the swf.  The page it publishes should be sufficient for planting on a server unless you plan to dress it up with other content as well.
    As far as incorporating Flash content into a PDF using InDesign goes, you are best to ask questions about using InDesign in the InDesign forum.  Here is a link to the Overview page whee you can pick which forum applies best to your situation:

  • How to setup a link that is of the type "Go to a page in another document"?

    Is there a direct way for a javascript to setup a link that is equivalent to the acrobat link type  you get when you add a link of the type “Go to a page in another document”?
    Tools-Advanced Editing-Link tool, make a box
    Check: Go to page view, Next (Create go to view dialog opens)
    Open second document and go to page
    Click “Create go to view dialog” to set up link
    Result is a link, when view by link properties, with an action of
    Go to a page in another document
    File: C:\My Documents\File2.pdf
    Page: 43
    Zoom level: Custom
    I have a java script in a setAction of a link that I think does the job:
    l.setAction("var otherDoc = app.openDoc('../Folder2/File2.pdf', this);otherDoc.pageNum = 1 - 1;");
    But is there a more direct way that actual sets up a “a link of the type Go to a page in another document” so if it's "advanced edited" its the same as the manual set links?
    I would like to setup a set of pdf documents, on the hard disk of a PC or Mac, that can be open with acrobat pro running on the same computer and have the link jump to, and open in a new window, in acrobat pro, to a given page of a second document in the set.
    John
    Code example in more detail:
    /* Insert document level JavaScript to set disclosed = true.
       This will run when the document is opened.*/
    this.addScript("setDisclosed", "this.disclosed = true;");
    // Search through the document for the word “Acrobat” and create a link around that word.
    for (var p = 0; p < this.numPages; p++)
        var numWords = this.getPageNumWords(p);
        for (var i=0; i<numWords; i++)
            var ckWord = this.getPageNthWord(p, i, true);
            if ( ckWord == "Acrobat")
                var q = this.getPageNthWordQuads(p, i);
                // Convert quads in default user space to rotated
                // User space used by Links.
                m = (new Matrix2D).fromRotated(this,p);
                mInv = m.invert()
                r = mInv.transform(q)
                r=r.toString()
                r = r.split(",");
                l = addLink(p, [r[4], r[5], r[2], r[3]]);
                l.borderColor = color.blue
                l.borderWidth = 1
                //l.setAction("this.getURL('http://www.adobe.com/');");
               l.setAction("var otherDoc = app.openDoc('../Folder2/File2.pdf', this);otherDoc.pageNum = 3 - 1;");
    Current Systems in use to create documents with links and view them:
    Windows XP SP3
    Word 2003 SP3
    Acrobat 9 pro version 9.4.4
    Or just to view them:
    Mac OS 10 Lion version 10.7.4
    Acrobat 9 pro version 9.5.1
    (note I have limited understanding of Mac’s)

    If you use buttons instead, it is possible to script adding the actions that you want. It involves creating a properly constructed FDF, saving it, and then importing it into the document. Buttons can be made to appear just like links. For more information, see: http://www.planetpdf.com/developer/article.asp?ContentID=6338

  • How to setup word docs, converted to PDF on local drive with links to a second file at a page

    how to setup word docs, converted to PDF on local drive with links to a second file at a page
    Need to setup a set of word documents, converted to PDF that has links from one file to a second file at a given page.

    I got close but did not solve the problem:
    I have a version that uses links to a website, using #page=43 at the end of the hyperlink.
    That works but will only open to the page if is through the web browser, opening the acrobat reader plugin.
    I need to open from a folder on the local harddisk (with relative links), in acrobat pro to the given page of the pdf, on a PC or a Mac.
    I could bookmark each page “pagenumberxxx” and jump to the bookmark/page if that would get around some problem
    Current Systems in use to create documents with links and view them:

    No.  There seems to be no automated way to do it.  You can of course go into the PDF and manually add links after you have converted to PDF, but that is what we want to avoid having to do.  We want it to be automatic from the Word doc.

  • How do you double underline in pages 5.2

    I am not able to find how to double underline in the pages update 5.2  Making documents previously I was able to select a colour for text then single or double underline in a different colour.  It seems now that there is only the option of  text and single underline in the same colour.  I've been producing Primary Student  Workbooks for approx. 5 years and these are "key" tools the student uses.  Continuity in creating additional books is very important.

    Same place:
    Menu > Format > Font > Show Fonts > T > select Double/Color

  • In firefox 4 I see different text than I do on the same website in firefox 3.6. [SOLVED]

    In firefox 3.6 it says "Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at 11:55 PM" while in firefox 4 it says "[week2-tu] at 11:55 PM" I can't provide the website because you need a login to get in.

    Problem was solved in the final release of firefox 4.0.

  • I am unable to open certain pages on sites. I have to switch over to IE because the new Firefox update is not accomodated on their websites! When will this be fixed... sites included Ameritrade, FAFSA, and others...

    Question
    I am unable to open certain pages on sites. I have to switch over to IE because the new Firefox update is not accomodated on their websites! When will this be fixed... sites included Ameritrade, FAFSA, and others...

    First and foremost, you should update to 3.6.17 because the version you're running at the moment is insecure and exposes your system to attack. Update via '''Help '''| '''Check For Updates'''.
    That may even fix the problem since several minor bugs were also fixed in later versions.
    Similarly, after updating, go to the [http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/plugincheck/ Plugins Check] page and update those which are necessary.
    If the problem persists, try running Firefox in [[Safe Mode]]. If it functions properly in that configuration, then one of your add-ons is the culprit.
    I didn't experience a problem myself accessing any of those sites you mentioned. See screenshot.

  • When visiting certain sites, if I click on a featured link, I get the message: "Firefox has prevented this page from automatically directing to another page", How do I disable this so I am able to get to the page I want?

    In this particular case, I was on a page that offered group discounts ("deals") that can be purchased for a limited time. To make the purchase, I needed to click onto the link with the name of the deal being offered. However, upon clicking on that link, I received the message from Firefox that it was preventing the page from automatically directing to another page i.e. the page that would have allowed me to make my purchase. Please answer quickly since the deal I want to purchase expires in three hours!
