When watching T.V. I get a white screen if I want to got to full screen.

When I go on Catch up T.V or the BBC i player, I cant expand the scrren to full screen. I can watch in the small format, but when I try to click full screen it goes full screen, but it is just white. I still have sound but just a white screen.

Recent versions of Flash use hardware acceleration, and this type of problem can be caused by a problem with hardware acceleration. Try turning off the hardware acceleration to see if that helps.
# Right-click on any Flash video and choose Settings
# Select the Display tab and de-select “Enable hardware acceleration"
For more details on Flash settings see http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/help01.html

Odd... went to get cuppa coffee, came back my monitor was BRIGHT orange, full screen,, with slight vertical rib pattern, kind of like corrugated cardboard... very slight pattern... what gives.... oh, everything was frozen, no cursor no keyboard, zip. Used back off button. Turned it back on, everything normal...
Had lots of sudden closures like this lately... but usually gray, black, deep blue screen... a couple with the same vertical corrugation pattern only in two shades of pale gold, or grays... what good times we have with apple... never know what'going to be looking back at you next. But BRIGHT ORANGE? Help???

Sounds like the graphics card. Run the Hardware Test in extended. Not a great diagnostic, but should pick up something really blatant like this.

• I have a 4K monitor and want to see a full screen slideshow using the jpeg generated when I "save" a raw file in the raw converter.

I have a 4K monitor (actually a 50 inch Samsung TV). Looking at my daily photographs on this monitor is astonishing, wonderful, etc. but there is one fly in the ointment so to speak. With previous monitors when I selected slideshow I could get a full screen "fit or fill" slideshow that I used for grading my images. My initial work flow all happens in Bridge and Camera Raw. It goes like this: I download my raw files using Bridge. In the thumbnail view I delete all the obviously bad images. Then using Bridge I open each raw file using my preferred presets for sharping and such. If I like the image I "Save" it to the same folder as a full sized maximum quality JPEG.
Now we get to the part that doesn't work. At this point I usually start a full screen slideshow and rate each of the JPEGs I have saved. What I see is a 1920 x 1080 preview image blown up to full screen size which of course looks awful. Why can't I just view a slightly reduced JPEG image created on the fly by Bridge. I guess I could tell Bridge to create 3840 x 2160 previews and they would display correctly, but that would be a big hit on disk space.
When I run slideshow using the 1080 pixel preview, I can click on the preview I click on the displayed image and start a full resolution slideshow of the saved JPEGs but the outer edges of the image are not viewable because the image has not been reduced to fit on the monitor screen.
Does anyone know how I can get Bridge to show a full screen slideshow using the saved JPEGs?

Sounds like a driver issue. I never tested in bridge, so I could be wrong. But it sounds to me that when you are connected to that screen, your settings are not set to the full resolution of that screen.

• Since I updated to Firefox 4 when I am at Facebook and try to view my apps, such as Farmville , in full screen but it will only stay in full screen a few seconds and then revert back to normal view. How can I correct this?

unable to stay in full screen since upgrade

Hey everyone in Apple world!
I figured out how to fix the flashing yellow screen problem that I've been having on my MBP! Yessssss!!!
I found this super handy website with the golden answer: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379
I followed the instructions on this page and here's what I did:
Resetting NVRAM / PRAM
Shut down your Mac.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command (⌘), Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
Release the keys.
I went through the 6 steps above twice, just to make sure I got rid of whatever stuff was holding up my bootup process. Since I did that, my MBP boots up just like normal. No flashing yellow screen anymore!!
(Note that I arrived at this solution when I first saw this page: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2570?viewlocale=en_US)
Let me know if this works for you!

• Upgraded my 4s to 7.1.2 iOS and when I turn on I get the white apple screen and then it changes to a 30 pin connected with an arrow pointing to an iTunes logo, before shutting down.

what procedures do I need to follow to get my phone up and running? I had a similar experience last year with my iPad 2 and had to reload everything, except I wasn't doing an upgrade at the time. When I plug my 4s into my charger the screen shows the connector and iTunes logo. I have tried to reboot several times without success.

Correct. Everything is already lost if it's in recovery mode. You can restore a backup after restoring the phone.

• When I open Firefox I get a white page with a prompt that Firefox can't load because of an open tab.

This has happened for the last two days. It happens even when I turn off the computer and start it up again. I tried emptying history and it does not allow me to do that.

Yes, that is likely the issue that I posted above your last reply.

• I have a wbsite appearing on the left side of the screen I cannot get rid of preventing me from viewing current website on full screen. How do I get rid of it?

Above the website on the left it says "how to econ" I think I may have clicked on that when it appeared next to a site I had bookmarked. However the site appearing on the left is not the one I was trying to access. The site on the left takes up about two inches of screen and I cannot get rid of it.

Can you attach a screenshot?

Opening in the sidebar is the default for bookmarks that are created via a link or button on a website.
You can check the Properties of a bookmark via the right-click context menu in the sidebar (Ctrl+B; Cmd+B on Mac).
In the Bookmarks Manager (Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks) you can click the More button in the Details pane at the bottom right.
• Half the screen is white in normal mode, but totally visible on full screen mode.

I'm new to the Mac world so still finding my way around. I have a Snow Leopard OS X which only displays half the screen - the other half is white - when playing a game or reading a newspaper online. Could it be a graphic card problem? Any help would be appreciated, thanks

You could try using Firefox's Safe Mode to reset your toolbars. Not sure whether this is a toolbar problem, but it's probably worth a try.
First, I recommend backing up your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Backing+up+your+information Backing up your information]. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.)
Next, check this article on how to start Firefox in
[https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Safe+Mode Safe Mode] and use the dialog to reset toolbars.
Any luck?

• How to I get the option bar back if my iBook is in full screen

When an iBook the option bar is there but soon disappears. I am new to the iPad and iBooks and I cannot seem to find a consistent way to make the option bar reappear.

Latest version of adobe flash play is installed.

Hello, ArantxaR.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
Here is an article that I would recommend going through when experiencing this issue.
Your computer cannot wake from sleep
Make sure your computer isn't powered off by pressing the power key for one second.
If you're using an external display, make sure your display is not powered off or unplugged.
If you are using a Mac notebook:
Make sure the computer's battery is charged. Try connecting the power adapter to the computer, then press the power button for one second to see if the computer powers on.
Make sure the AC power cord is connected securely to the power outlet, and that the outlet it is working correctly. Confirm the power adapter or cable is attached firmly.
If your computer is plugged into a power strip, make sure the power strip is not turned off. Check to make sure other items connected to the power strip are receiving power.
Confirm the right power adapter is connected on Mac notebook computers. If a lower wattage power adapter is used than the one that came with your Mac, it may not provide enough power to charge the battery while the computer is powered on. Make sure there is no debris in the MagSafe port that might prevent charging. When your MagSafe cable is connected properly, you should see a green or orange light on the connector.
If you are using a Mac desktop:
Make sure the AC power cord is connected securely to the computer and outlet.
Make sure the AC power outlet it is connected to is working properly.
If your computer is plugged into a power strip, make sure the power strip is not turned off. Check to make sure other items connected to the power strip are receiving power.
Your computer is slow to wake from sleep
If you see a progress bar when you wake your computer from sleep, this is normal. The computer is waking from safe sleep.
