When watching Youtube clips firefox causes windown blue screen - windows 7 on HP8540w

Hi
HP8540w laptop with Windows7 professional.
when watching youtube clips windows crashes - blue screen of death!
watching the same clips in Internet explorer doesn't cause a crash - isolated to Firefox.

See below -- the way I asked the question the first time may not be clear. This post was a goof but I can't figure out how to delete it

• Crashed when watching youtube in Firefox

clean install Yosemite on mid 2014 MacBook Retina 15" first time in my life it crashes while watching YouTube - shutted down and restarted.

Firefox is known to be incompatible with some graphics card driver software; it's a moving target due to driver updates...
Other than rolling forward or rolling back the drivers and finding a compatible fit, the best workaround is to disable Firefox's use of hardware acceleration.
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced
On the "General" mini-tab, uncheck the box for "Use hardware acceleration when available"
This will take effect after you exit and restart Firefox.

• When I quit Firefox 7 a blue screen appears

When I quit Firefox 7 a blue screen appears. I go to quit Firefox 7 and then the screen turns blue and I have to press the power button to reset my computer. I'm running OS X 10.6 with the most recent updates. This seem to have started to happen when I updated to Firefox 7. I'm still checking to see if it happens on other applications.

I've got the same problem on my 2011 MacBook Pro (2.3ghz Core i7, 4gb Stock Ram, Intel 320 SSD 120gb).
I noticed it was happening a lot on a previous installation of OS X 10.6.8 using the combo update. I kept getting blue screens pretty much on command when quitting firefox, though I first noticed it happen trying to install Microsoft Office 2011.
I reinstalled OS X 10.6.6, updated to 10.6.8 using 'Software Update' via internet and the last couple months have been fine.
TODAY, however, quitting Firefox after closing down a bunch of tabs caused the system to freeze up and give me a blue screen. I remember I was able to replicate this problem by quitting firefox after closing 5+ tabs. Can't seem to do it on command now, but I'm hoping this problem doesnt reoccur anymore.
I bought an apple product based on its claims for being reliable. I need to get work done without headaches.

• When watching Youtube, there is no picture, but on Internet Explorer there is. How come?

When opening YouTube in Firefox there is sound, but the picture immediately disappears. On Internet Explorer there are no problems.
It might have to do with updating of Firefox some week ago.

• Pas 2 air When watching a clip or vidéo only Sound no images

AiAd air 2 l'astuce génération When watching a clip or vidéo only Sound no images

I once ran into this and was fortunate enough to have lots of time to research the problem.
MPEG2 has this unusual feature in that the video stream is, effectively, variable frame rate. There is no fixed rate at all; instead you get a bunch of so-called presentation timestamps - one for each frame, in fact. The audio stream also has them. Hardware and software that plays MPEG2 streams must know how to use these to sync up audio, and they do.
When you import such a stream into a video editing software, it would usually make certain assumptions about the frame rate, because things are already complicated enough even with a constant framerate. Most of the time the video is actually timestamped at regular intervals throughout the entire stream, so the assumption doesn't cause audio desync.
However, if you have noisy analogue splices in the original video you captured, the presentation timestamps produced by a capture card might have large jumps in them. Conventional players recover trivially by using the timestamps to realign the audio straight away. I haven't, however, yet seen any video editing packages that do this out of the box.
I'm not aware of any existing scripts for fixing this in Premiere, but I've seen one that makes use of Avisynth. I could try digging it up if anyone cares.

• IOS6... How do I see the full screen when watching youtube videos and second the map quality is very poor, foggy most of the time and images overlap to each other... Can I restore to IOS6 if these problems can not be solved?

I just upgraded to IOS6 and I have some difficulties that I never had on IOS5:
How can a see the full screen when watching youtube. Address bar is always in view.
Maps are foggy and some images overlap to eachother.
If these problems can not be solved, how do I downgrade back to IOS5?

No, there is no legitimate way to downgrade iOS to an earlier version.
Be patient, Apple will eventually get around to fixing the "bugs" in iOS 6.

• Iphone 4: pixilated image when watching YouTube

Since the last update (4.1) I have horrible image quality when watching YouTube or Vevo...Anyone has any idea of what is going on?
Thanks

The mobile youtube page accessed through safari plays video perfectly over 3G, while the native app reduces the quality so much much that text on the video is basically unreadalbe.
I don't understand why apple limits the quality so much through the app when 3g is more than adequate to play higher quality. What's the point of a native app when it performs this poorly.

• When watching youtube the video randomly jumps to the start of the video even if the cursor is not on the video.

When watching youtube the video randomly jumps to the start of the video even if the cursor is not on the video. This happens randomly and does not seem to be a problem with the videos as they run fine. what is going on?

Several times every day YouTube shuts down some of their servers to update stuff. Be patient if YouTube is slow, stuck or mangled. Transmissions from YouTube to your computer are done in multiple tiny packets of data and flash at a time. That's why sometimes you may get any of these scenarios: bits and pieces of text/thumbnails in weird places; sluggish loading/buffering; the spinning circle going on forever; or the player being blank. This problem could fix itself within a few hours or by the next day.
If your YouTube continues to behave slow, stuck or strange, it's very possible that your directories of "temporary internet files" and RAM (sometimes known as "cache") are close to the maximum and just cannot take anymore, the end result being any of the above scenarios or videos that: A) come to a complete freeze; B) start/stop/start/stop in a choppy way; or C) never even make it onto your screen.
"Temporary internet files" are tiny bits of webpages that get permanently put on your hard-drive. They will remain forever on your computer, gradually plugging it up like hair stuck in a sink drain, until you finally get rid of them once and for all. Thus, exit out of YouTube, then clear your "cache" of all its "temporary internet files", "cookies" and "history". It is best if you shutdown and reboot afterwards. You'll be amazed at how "fresh" and "new" your YouTube will be.

• When watching youtube on Waterfox 8.0.1 there is no buffer.

When watching Youtube videos on Waterfox 8.0.1 there is no buffer.
The videos load, but not with buffer (obvious when video is paused).
I'm using Flash Player 11.2.202.95 Beta 2 (Non-IE) 64-bit
Works fine on IE9 with Flash Player 11.2.202.95 Beta 2 (for IE) 64-bit

Installed & enabled "Greasemonkey" (non-related to this issue), now it's buffering !?!
This is ridiculous.

• T61 DVD causes a blue screen crash

My T61 with a Mat**bleep**a DVD-RAM UJ-862 causes a blue screen crash when I put a blank, unformated disk in the drive. A pre-recorded video or audio disk will play but a blank disk causes a crash.

No it really doesn't "go to sleep." It doesn't seem to me to be "the monitor," I think this is strickly happening with the computer that incidentley happens to be connected to a monitor. My simple take anyway.

Go to the Preferences>Performance tab and uncheck the "Use Graphics Processor" option. Adobe are aware of this issue, and are investigating, but in the meantime unchecking that option should sort out your Develop module issues.

Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

• FX5200 causes XP blue screen

Hi,
Bought a MSI FX5200-TD128 card for my Compaq Evo D500 Desktop. The card was detected without issue. But after Windows login, XP abruptly terminates into a blue screen, indicating Page Fault Error caused by NTaccess.sys. Then, the PC after saving the coredump info, reboots itself.
Now I am running my PC in Safe Mode with Networking, and the display is standard VGA. I have downloaded the latest drivers for FX5200, but the problem still exists.
The Compaq BIOS information did not have many settings to play with. I tried setting the AGP aperture size to 256MB, but that did not help.
Hope someone can help me on this.
Rgds.

Thanks for the help. Driver Cleaner works. I think MSI live update may have caused the blue screen because at one point, after I removed the nVidia drivers and rebooted the machine, the blue screen still happened. So I uninstalled the MSI Utilities in Safe Mode and proceeded with installing the drivers from scratch.
