When we may expect full support for  CRUD ?

I've learned from "BEA eWorld - Day Two", John Reynolds (May 25, 2004 ) that "The
most notable change is that Liquid Data will finally be getting full CRUD capabilities
(currently it's view only)." My question is when it might happen ?
This is VERY important issue for my organization because it affects the decision
on going with Liquid Data vs. Hibernate as a corporate decision.
For BEA representatives - please, contact me directly via e-mail with regard to
this matter.
Sincerely,
- Michael Poulin

The next version of LD will include updates (via SDO). Beta will be later this
year, we don't have a solid date yet.

  • When can I expect RAW support for my new Nikon D5300?

New PE12, new D5300, no joy with PE12 opening these files. When might I expect support for that?

ACR 8.3 RC at Adobe Labs lists preliminary support for the D5300 (probably by pretending it is a D5200 so the colors will likely be a little off) but the RCs cannot be installed with Elements.  Wait for the final release in the next few weeks, and PSE12 should automatically update.
You can use the DNG Convert 8.3 RC at Labs to create DNGs from your NEFs but the colors will be off, still, so save your NEFs and maybe start over with them.

  • When do we get native support for MKV?

I love Quicktime, and I mean it when I say that I am currently stuck with VLC. When can we expect MKV support for QT?
VLC is a nice player, but it just lacks the simplicity and style of QT. Too many bells and whistles, I just want to run a movie file and thats it. And I have always been a big fan of QT. Before Prerian was the answer, but they have packed their bags and gone, so that optioin won't help me either.
I wish Apple would be faster with implementing native support to new file-types as the emerge.

When can we expect MKV support for QT?
I suspect never from Apple or as soon as you install Perian support for the file container and the QT 7 player together with whatever codec component support that may be required for whatever particular forms of compressed data you may be using. You can, of course, request file type support be added as an enhancement in the product feedback form but likely it won't happen because then you would probably want support for all possible compression format combinations the file could possibly ever support which is the same problem AVI file containers have and Apple is, of course, trying to modernize QT in line with compression formats the support mobile (iPod, iPhone, iPasd, and TV) devices.
Before Prerian was the answer, but they have packed their bags and gone, so that optioin won't help me either.
Still works for me under Mountain Lion (although there is no telling how long this will last). The main problem is then maintaining support for file content itself. E.g., my latest problem was learning that some of my MKV files contain WVC1 (Microsoft VC1) video and coherent DTS audio which, even after I found could be handled by the Flip4Mac codecs drop too many frames for proper playback (typical data rates are 150% that of AVCHD content and are interlaced rather than progressive), display an Windows icon when not played in a BD player, and at 29.97 fps are not always correctly supported by even the latest 3D DB compatible commercial players. (I.e., I suspect these are the types of issues Apple is trying to avoid.)
I wish Apple would be faster with implementing native support to new file-types as the emerge.
Hardly a new file container since the project is already a decade old. (I.e., MKV was supposed to be a modern, completely open source, universal file container that would likely be the successor to the containers like AVI.)

  • Can anyone remember when Preview.app first gained support for bookmarks?

Can anyone remember when Preview.app first gained support for bookmarks?
I think it was either with the advent of Tiger or reasonably early on within it's development (e.g. 10.4.2), although I may well be wrong.
The reason I'm asking is that there used to be a capability in Preview.app that allowed you to open multiple PDFs in one window and print them all at once. I'm wondering about going back through my desks and hunting it out:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1388297

    Ha! Fixed it!
Kept reading all "Preview+plist" threads and found this one: https://discussions.apple.com/message/17195650#17195650
And sure enough, trashing ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.Preview/ reset the preferences for Preview.app and now all key commands work without crashing.
But if erasing that folder, and more importantly the plist in it, did reset the preferences, that would suggest the preferences were being saved there. So I now changed the prefs and quit the app, and then trashed the containers folder again, and restarted the app. But strangely the prefs remained. So I thought, well if the prefs were being stored there, maybe erasing that plist made Preview reinstate the regular plist in the regular Preferences folder? But no go, as there's still no regular Preview plist in the regular Preferences folder.
So now, there's no regular plist, and erasing the Containers folder no longer resets the prefs, but changes to prefs are still being saved somewhere … so where the **** are they being saved now? It's like they just keep burrowing down further into the ground with every attempt to erase them. What the **** is going on? ;-)
Anyways, the initial problem is solved, so … maybe I should just let the mystery remain? ;-)

  • HT5219 When can we expect a fix for the Windows 8.1 hot-plug issue with a Thunderbolt device.

When can we expect a fix for the Windows 8.1 hotplug issue with a Thunderbolt device.  I got a dock to easy my up-and-go time when moving from using my laptop on the desk vs in meetings.  Instead my computer crashes and I have to reboot.
I am seeing this issue with the 2012 Macbook pro Retina running Bootcamp with Windows 8.1 x64 bit with the F4U055 Dock from Belkin

I can confirm that hotplug does work properly on Windows 8.1 with Asus Thunderbolt ExII (Thunderbolt 2)
But does not work with Windows 8.1 and MacBook Pro Retina (Thunderbolt 1)
To get hot plug working with the Asus Thunderbolt ExII, you install the intel thunderbolt drivers, and then you get an interface where you can eject devices, and do things like setup more detailed security. However, this doesn't have any effect with the MacBook Pro. I suspect that either:
    1) Apple's Thunderbolt hardware doesn't support hotplugging on windows
    2) Hotplugging on Windows requires Thunderbolt 2
So, I should check on my Mac Pro (dustbin edition) to see if it works there with Thunderbolt II
Be great to hear if anybody has any success with this on an Apple device!

  • Will be full support for Pentax K-5?

Will be a full support for Pentax K-5 in Lightroom 3.4? I mean camera profiles (I don't like adobe standard).

There is full support for the this camera in 3.3.
3.4 RC is presently out, so try it and see.
If what you mean is will Adobe make any more calibration profiles other than the initial one, the Adobe standard, this is pretty unlikely. If there is a particular problem with the profile sometimes they re write them, but this is usually done following users raising problems at the RC stage.. They usually only provide extra calibrations for Canon and Nikon cameras.
Nothing to stop you using the free tools supplied by Adobe to make your own.

  • [Request] Full support for AVRCP

I just bought a 3GS and it's my first iPhone, i love it, but it does have it's limitations that many phones from the past 5+ years have.
Full support for AVRCP in 3.1 please!. I can play/pause but can't skip/prev and it's annoying since i got a S305 headset and i ride a bike and listen to music on the way to work and i want to skip a song but i can't since it isn't supported yet.

Let Apple know directly here: http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html

  • Any idea when Lightroom 4 will have support for the new Canon 5D Mark III?

I have a new Canon 5D Mark III.  When can we expect support for this camera in Lightroom 4?

It's already in the DNG converter that's posted along with ACR 6.7 Beta.  That indicates probably the next version.

  • When can we expect a patch for Object Array List Data Provider?

    Hey JSC Team!
When can we expect maybe, just maybe a minor patch for the Object Array List Data Provider loading class problem? Next Month? This Year? Next Year? Near Future? Long in the future? Sometime in the 22nd century?

I think one of the problem is
when u declare the ObjectListDataProvider in ur backing bean
it doesnt appear in the design time straight away
u have to clean build close and re open the project
    which is quite time consuming.

  • When will Aperture provide RAW support for the Nikon D4s?

Just got my D4s and can't work with the RAW files in Aperture 3 ... It says 'incompatible file format'...

Wait and see, the currently available raw support is here.
    http://www.apple.com/aperture/specs/raw.html
    iMac, Mac OS X (10.7.5)
But even, when the raw supoort for your new camera will have been released, it will probably only be available for you, if you upgrade to OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.5 and at least Aperture 3.4.5. The most recent Digital Camera Raw Support releases have all been released for these versions only:  http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1734
Give Apple a little time to do a decent job with the raw support. Your new camera is particularly challenging with the high ISO sensor and the excellent low light sensitivity (ISO 409,600). You will want that the raw support can deal with these new features properly. Last year we have seen quite a few threads with complaints about strange blueish or pink colors on raw images taken in low light for new Nikon and Canon cameras.

  • When will you offer full screen for Lion?

I was curious if/when you'll be adding a full screen Lion option? I use Firefox 7 and would like this added. :)

Lion Full Screen app support is in the current Firefox Nightly version, so should ship with Firefox 14 at the latest. I can confirm it's a nice feature and works well.

  • When can we expect IOS 7 for iPhone

Hi, Does anyone know when to expect IOS7 for iPhone?

Forum Tip: Since you're new here, you've probably not discovered the Search feature available on every Communities page, but next time, it might save you time (and everyone else from having to answer the same question multiple times) if you search a couple of ways for a topic, both in the relevant forums and in the Apple Knowledge Base before you post a question.
    Regards.

  • We need full support for Turkey!

Hi! I've been wondering about this e-book system of yours. ibooks only displays free stuff which is very limited. I would like to BUY certain books and even tried to switch stores yet it's not doable. Most people on the internet suggests for other countries those cannot see books on store should use kindle. Thats another problem because we cant even use kindle from Turkey. It's not on app store and like i said i couldn't download it from U.K's app store. Are you people considering about giving us access to all books on the store or are we supposed to stick to free ones? I think you should give the same support to everyone regardless of their countries. I dont even need those books to be turkish. I just want access to buy. Ty for your time.

What does or does not appear in any Company's store is not really decided by the company.  It is dictated by your own country's commerce and copyright laws.  If a book is not available in the Turkey iBook store that is because either the author/publisher choose not to distribute it there, or Apple is prohibited by Copyright or other laws specific to your country.  The same thing applies to Amazon or any other retailer.  Apple does not pick and choose the books in the iBook store itself, they simply sell what they have permission and legal authority to sell.
You cannot shop in any other country's Apple store unless you have a source of payment specific to that country with a billing address also in that store's native country.  In some parts of the world, you may also have to be physically in the same country to shop at the store, as IP filtering may be in effect.
Bottom line, if something is not in an Apple store front, the owner of that intellectual property either has not authorized it for release in that country, or the copyright laws of the country preclude having it there.

  • When will Lightroom have tethering support for Nikon D4s?

Lightroom 5 does not support tethering to my Nikon D4S.  Can somebody tell me when this will available?

Okay so I should be asking Adobe direct, thanks.
I did find that Nikon released the developer software for the D4S back in february so just could'nt uderstand the delay especially as adobe never seems to be late taking my money each month.
