I just upgraded a version 2.0 of my new book.
Normally, do people receive the new version?
Do they have to pay again to receive the new version?

Auto updates of apps will be one of the next iOS features, but no idea if that will apply to ibooks - users now will receive notification that an update is available, but it will be up to them to download.
There is no charge for updates.

Resolution

Upload a newer version of Adobe to embed to power point

I am trying to embed a YouTube Video to a powerpoint. I have tried this on two of my computers and getting the same error. It is saying "upload a newer version of Adobe". This product Adobe has caused such much hassle. Please advise.

Adobe is not a product, but a company name with many software products.
Neither videos nor Powerpoint is in any way connected to Adobe Reader. Most likley you need to install the latest version of Flash Player (ActiveX).

Previous version of an application will be deleted(replaced) when upgrading to a newer version ?

does it works like the iphone app.. the old will be replaced with the newer or does the application file keep all the files including previous things?

The old version is uninstalled and the new version is installed.
I can't think of a reason to ever do a restore other than before selling it.
Even for a failed and replaced hard disk I would reload from my most recent backup.

How can I keep the old version of iMovie when I add the new version?

In the past, when I new version of iMovie came out, I kept the old working version by puttting it inito a folder, and labeled it 'Old iMovie', or some such. When I installed the new version, it didn't recognize that folder, and left the old version alone. That way, if there were bugs/problems with the new version, I could always revert to the "old" version, without probems.
Would that still work?

You don't need to move anything around. Apple has anticipated that some people may prefer to use the old version along with the new one, so when you update to iMovie 10, a script runs that puts your iMovie 9 into a folder inside your Applications folder:
/Applications/iMovie 9.0.9
People are having a lot of problems with the new version. You can look through this forum to find out what they are, and see if there are workarounds.
I updated to 10, updated all my Projects and Events, and began using it; but after about 10 days decided to go back to 9. I'll try 10 again when Apple releases an update to fix the problems and add back some of the features they stripped out.

They are free to iOS 7 users who have activated their NEW device on Sept 1 2013 or after. They are NOT automatically free with iOS 7.
AirDrop is only compatible with iPad 4th gen and iPad mini. iPad 3rd gen and below do contain the necessary hardware for AirDrop. Also, AirDrop is only compatible between iOS devices. You cannot AirDrop between iOS device and Mac OS.

I got the problem solved. It was pretty simple but new to me. I had evidently inadvertently switched the setting in the "View" tab on the dropdown menu so that all of my desktop folders were populated by all folders/documents residing on the desktop.
The solution was to open one of the folders, then go to the "View" tab and change the setting to "List." Presto, now all the folders include only the contents I had intentionally loaded into them.

Why is 8.0 asking to install when I have a newer version

I use a Dell Vostro 1520 laptop with Windows 7 OS. I have the newest version of Adobe Reader installed and working properly. However, every time I start up, I am asked to install Adobe 8.0 but the installation fails because I have the newer version. How do I stop this start-up request and why does it happen?

I have now checked the start up folder and it is not there. According to the screen that asks if I want to allow Adobe Reader 8 to make changes to my computer, it's located at c:\users\%username%\AppData\Local Low\Netopsystems\temp\Reader 8.0\setup.exe. I have a Ipod classic 30g. I have 4079 songs in my iTunes. I am using Windows 7 on an ACER Extensa. I have my music on an external hard drive. The same place it has always been. Since I upgraded to the new version of iTunes when I sync my Ipod it randomly marks 100 records with the gray circle with a ! in it. Showing that it is not connected. I check the songs are still on the drive in the same location. I go into the control panel of my computer use the repair function and all the ! are gone. I didn't do a backup of my bookmarks in the older version before uninstalling it. I thought mozilla would just keep them in my newer version of mozilla. Did you chose to remove personal data when uninstalling?
Firefox will delete your profile folder in that case and you lose personal data like bookmarks.

If you have any plans to use Numbers cross platform (i.e. do data entry or dynamic display on an iPad or iPhone or collaboration with others) Numbers 3 brings a lot more to the table than it often gets credit for. It is not a temptation, but a powerful piece of software that, unlike Numbers 2.3, is under active development, now syncs well, and for many users already delivers significant productivity enhancement.
If you, and perhaps your clients, are wedded to old-style printing of highly formatted documents, or you like some of the many niche features that don't work well cross-platform, you will be better off sticking with Numbers 2.3 or moving to Excel.
You can run both versions of Numbers on your Mac at the same time with no problem. Numbers 3 will be in your Applications folder and Numbers 2.3 in a subfolder named iWork '09. If you have both versions installed on your Mac, all you have to do to keep the Numbers 2.3 document in the same format is make sure you open it in Numbers 2.3. If you open it in Numbers 3 by mistake (or open it in Numbers for iOS) you can export it back to Numbers 2.3 format from Numbers 3.0 by File > Export to > Numbers '09...

Should I uninstall previous versions of adobe software when I install a new version?

I have been using Creative Cloud for a couple of years now and have always wondered why I would need an older version of the software. Considering these unused versions of software are just sitting on my hard drive and taking up space.... can anyone think of any good reason why I shouldn't uninstall these old software versions of Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.?

It can depend on which versions these older versions are. If they are Cloud versions then I wouldn't think twice about getting rid of the older ones. But if they are from a Creative Suite you might find that they have functionality that the newer versions had stripped out of them Flash, for instance, had a number of useful functional elements ripped out of it when they came out with the Cloud version.

Installing an older vst when there is a newer version ?

Im trying to re-install an older version of a VST callled slayer 2. I have removed the files of the newer version from VST folders and also the preference files. However when trying to install the old version Im told I have a newer version already installed. Ive looked at folders like receipts to see if theres anything there to trash but there is obviously an invisble file that Im missing out on. Can anyone help please?

Is this in an install package or an installer Application ?.
If the former, Pacifist may allow you to inspect the files to see what checks are made, or even 'force' the install regardless of those.
Otherwise : try FindAnyFile & search for anything that may have the name included.
